Nice to see pilots using same equipment I bought 20 years ago. Same helmet and mask, g-suit and I added a environmental suit and parachute all for $350 all in! Ex East German Airforce fear. Guy wanted to sell me a operational mig23 for $90k, I would have to pay for shipping and paperwork to get it into America. Didn’t have the extra cash😩

Beautiful aircraft. While I've always despised communism and the Russian regime, I have the utmost respect for its engineers who designed some of the most beautiful and impressive machines known to man.
Notice the radiation sign on the nose cone of the plane? That might be indicating the presence of a radioisotope ice detector (usually RIO-3), used in many different soviet aircraft. It registers the beta radiation coming off of Strontium-80 in order to detect ice accumulating on the sensor.
