Jayden McNeill called this like 5 years ago. He said something like "Roux is objectively the best method for OH, but nobody is fast enough yet"
Jay is my goat
Based opinions by jay as always
I mean J perm also said that
Is there even a famous cuber saying otherwise? I feel like everyone with basic understanding of Roux have been saying this all along.
@@nimrod06 Yeah, when I was getting into OH I was confused on why all the top oh solves were using cfop
What a rouxmarkable solve! Huge congrats to Sean Patrick on this insane and well-deserved WR. And thanks for the rouxconstruction, can't wait for the livestream tomorrow.
i'm also excited for the stream tomoroux
Nice roux pun. Nicerouxly executed. (that was the worst roux pun ever)
That pun is rouxdiculous
@@explosionspin3422 That‘s troux
@@explosionspin3422 So troux
Hand size is what keeps the children away from OH and big cubes. They first dominate pyra, 2^3, and 3^3, then graduate upward.
Small cubes already exist. Although idk if they're as good as standard cubes.
This is an unproven myth that continues to get promulgated.
The physics and physiology of smaller hands is advantageous for speedcubing.
The more likely explanation is that it takes longer to develop the skills for the bigger cubes.
They are dominating at the smaller cubes because they get the skills and then the smaller hands have the torque, lever, and physiology advantages.
Congrats on 1 year on TH-cam, and I’m really happy you made a video about the rouxvolution!
Yooo 🚗y Huang!!! Rouxvolution is real but I’m too lazy to switch
Thanks Cary!
6:54 I'm in some of Max Park's World Record vids, and I'm just as happy as that guy
hi noah
@@CubingEmperor313 hello
Also happy 1 year on TH-cam Stu (or should I say... OWEN)!
Bro will have to make one more vid for yiheng now💀
As a mediocre roux solver, I think your roux explanation is better than mine honestly
It really was a great explanation! The only part of the solution that wasn’t explained was edge orientation, but eo wasn’t anything special so it didn’t bother me
These videos are great. Love watching these! Geeat job!
this is insane.. roux was used for both oh wrs and used to win oh in the world championship now theres 3 people that has wr potential sean, fahmi and koda THE ROUXVOLUTION IS HERE!!!
Also Alexey Tsvetkov.
Wow, can’t believe it’s been a year, I remember when I subscribed to your channel when you only had like 200 subs and 2 vids. Amazing content and I could tell since I saw your first vid. Keep it up!!!
Love ur vibe and high quality vids bro keep doing what you are
Crazy how he pulls off M moves OH so well
I know that "happy dude" haha. He's kuya mav (and yes, he's also REALLY good at OH. nr 7/wr123 on avg) He's also a really nice and cool dude lol. shout out to him!
The quality of your vids is fantastic, keep it up
Man I don't even follow the one handed community but your videos made me catch up...
Amazing cube news channel, appreciate your effort!
love the chill content and straight to the point format. Can't wait for more videos, congrats on hitting one year! I wasn't there from the start, but I will be here for the future milestone. Keep up the quality content, your my favourite cubing TH-camr right now, (Jperm is still my goat, but you post more than he does at the moment)
One of the best youcuber right now 🙏🏻
It’s only a while before someone invents big cube roux
you mean a roux based method for big cubes? There is meyer and lewis method i think it was called
Dwayne Ramos has good 7x7 times with Meyer you could watch his channel and stuff
Meyer method. LR centers, FB, centers, edge pairing, 3x3. Basically Yau but do FB instead of 3/4 cross.
Exciting!
Im the judge of the last solve of roux wr avg
Sean has lowered the time to almost sub 6! Literally a few years ago that was a super good 3x3 time. Also according to jperm your OH times should be 2x your 3x3 times so this is almost sub 3 in that sense!
antonio kam, I'm pretty sure, has his OH times matching or faster than his 2H times; not only does this break the assumption of "twice your 2H times", it essentially invalidates the statement altogether.
Nah
That only applies to CFOP
1.5x is the general ratio assuming you actually practice OH
Absolutely great content here. New to your channel but only 1 year! Lol. Keep up the good work!
Sean is just crazy, like how u and ur channel is
Stucube, keep it up your videos are the best,😊
Me rocking with 19 sec OH CFOP. Meanwhile SPV…
I’ve been saying this for 3+ years now… mostly because fahmi absolutely OWNS OH uwrs (sub 4 singles is insane). I think roux might be the best overall and the highest level of cubing that I can forsee right now is an incredibly abstract, advanced combination of roux and cfop/zb techniques to minmax on every scramble. by the end of the decade, f2l will be so freeform and high-level, especially with how good lookahead has gotten, that the line between completing the cross and pairs will blur until it’s not even there. the future of speedcubing belongs to people who master these concepts, and raw tps will cap out and even wane a bit as such insane levels of efficiency become required to push 3x3 lower. what can be done with this simple puzzle is truly infinite, and it’s why I’ve solved it tens of thousands of times without ever getting bored
Fahmi UWRs are probably fake, given how he barely averages sub 10 in comps. Not to say he isn’t a world class OH solver!
@@nape6625 Fahmi only goes to competitions near where they live, so they compete way less frequently than most world class cubers. because of this, nerves are a big problem. A lot of people get slower times in competition than at home.
I love this paragraph. I totally getchu broo.
@@vuovdiii idk, I’m generally a nervous person, but I attended 1 comp and got the results strongly resembling my global. I kinda doubt comp after comp nerves would add almost 2 whole seconds to the global, I average 8 with 2 hands and 10 second averages are unthinkable as long as I’m not almost dead from exhaustion
@@nape6625 It wouldn’t surprise me if they were fake as the times are pretty unbelievable, but the solves themselves make sense and are far from impossible if/when we see roux pushed to that highest level
roux isnt probably better than cfop, it 100% is
6:54 dudes pretty nice too, he let me borrowed his 2x2 while mine broke going to the comp
OH blows my mined they all are able to turn quicker then i ever could with 2 hands. hats off blew my mind!!!
Rouxvolution!!
Accidentally predicted this about 8 hours before it happened lol
Proud Filipino
here's to hoping that the 6 year olds wont be able to avail of Roux OH because their hands are too small to effectively do the fingertricks
The chance of a CMLL skip is 1/162, insane
Sean truly showed the world what the Roux method could do, lately I've been thinking that Roux is slowly started to fade away from the top CFOP speedcubers who use zbll, but Sean proved that wasn't over yet. Long live the Rouxvolution!
Yiheng wang rn: love is sweet but revenge is sweeter...
Shawn is insane at these events it’s ridiculous
But cool
you see how sean stopped the timer, it makes all the difference
The rise of roux
I learned Roux for OH right from the start. Great method.
let's go philippines!
Damned
I've been sayin it for years, Sean Villanueva is HIM.
I feel like more people are gonna be using roux for one handed
Uyyyyy Philippines 🇵🇭🇵🇭🇵🇭🇵🇭🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🗣️🗣️🗣️🗣️
This comp was very rushed but I'm glad that in the end it was a success and in my hometown!
I don't see kids taking over OH honestly, they're really good at tps and big alg sets but I think the creativity needed for first block especially would be a barrier for most of them
😊
thats crazy... I mean how do you even move the M slice with one hand
Have you seen Xuanyi Geng predicting 2 pairs from the draw scramble
i was there but went home before it happened cuz i started before sean
I WAS IN THAT COMP!!!! tho me and my friends already left by the time the wr happened unfortunately LMAO we found out when we were eating at a nearby restaurant and someone texted him
I’m pretty sure Sean is competing the Philippine Championship right now, so maybe new wr soon?
I want to be just like sean
First from ph #rouvolution
as a man who uses cfop and is from the same country as sean, the rouxvolution shall not happen
we're fine until all a new gan mini cube comes out and the 6 year olds start using it for oh 💀😭
I have a question, what editing software do you use?
ayo
Due to the fact of my love for this channel, im first
Edit: congrats for the 1 year anniversary!!
Also my plan to deal w the invasion of the toddlers is to main skewb
the 6 year olds will get half my times with half the hands
With half the age
I was the judge in Max parks oh wr
Now talk about Yiheng's 3x3 4.36s WR 3x3 average with a 3.97
I think Antoine cantin said that the Chinese coach's only really have the kids practice events that are popular in China. And apparently OH isn't that popular there
Yeah, it doesn't make it onto the list of events to teach kids!
just wait for yiheng to turn 16, be bored of the other events, learn one handed roux just for fun and get a 4 single & 5 average
then a sub 11 on 4x4
as someone with sub 10 Roux 3x3 I still prefer CFOP for OH because these table assisted M moves are just... not stylish?
Honestly, the solve wasn't even close to perfect. He lucked out with the CMLL skip, but he kinda messed up on the LSE which could've been just 9 moves (easily doable sub-2, or even sub-1.5). We should be lucky Sean didn't absolutely OBLITERATE the WR.
how
Ok, I’m new here. What is “OH”?😅
OH one hand
Hi
STUCUBE you don't remember me from the last vid in the comments.
Max is going to break this record soon
He doesnt do Roux
@@EstrogenCubing I know but we all know max pretty well and he usually manages to get his records back
@@thelittlecuberofficial I personally think Sean will get the record to a point where Max can no longer reach first
@@EstrogenCubingTrue we never can know for sure
@@thelittlecuberofficial If Sean gets a Sub-7.5 Avg. In OH, it over for Max Unless, if he learns & Master Roux
Tbh, I think a method made for OH should be created. I've been working on one myself, its basically 2gen reduction. Roux is pretty close to being the optimal OH method, but I think there is a much better way.
No one has succeed
This is bc any method that is good for OH is good for 2H
So basically what you are doing is trying to find an OO method for 2H
Wich in more than 50 years
Uh
I think people have already tried
@@EstrogenCubingNo OH can sacrifice move efficiency for finger trick efficiency. So you can have an algorithm that takes longer two handed but is more efficient on OH finger tricks.
@@EstrogenCubing Yeah, I'm still going to try and see what happens tbh. And it's not necessarily the best for 2H either, the method wont be as efficient, it's just designed to increase tps. I only average like 19 in OH so I'm not good or anything, I'm just trying something out and having fun with it.
@@kazedcat CFOP needs RUF algs
Roux can be done almost entirely on RrMU
Which if you do them correctly
Are almost as fast as pure 2gen
@@vuovdiii Roux already perfects Efficiency + TPS imo
#rouxvolution
Small little detail but I could be wrong but when I learned a little bit of roux you get the top and bottom all yellow and white before you solve the orange yellow and red yellow edges
ROUXVALUTUON (for OH)
🧢
Also for 3x3 one day
@@EstrogenCubing that’s just not likely due to the lack of roux resources
@@Cube_kid11 I said one day
@@Cube_kid11 You don't need that much resources
Its all on you how fast you are
Most Rouxers don't push the limits of the method just bc they already have good times and are spoiled by the method
Totally not first
sure
Sean is insean.
It was only a matter of time for the Rouxvolution to occur!
Also time for this video's hate comment: I am not a fan of skewb (I know, fight me).
How could you hate Skewb it’s the best
(jk 2x2’s better)
STUCUBE I will comment on this video until you don't remember me
I'm actually better than yiheng at one handed cause he can't hold the cube so 6 year old aren't faster than me for once
this is also the same for 5x5+
Haha 😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢

Downfall of Max?

Interesting rules, why they allow the examination by two hands for a one handed competition?? Why they allow to use the table for a one handed solution ?
I would not allow these, and also not to use chairs or other facilities in the room at a one handed solve, otherwise it is a quite pointless category.
Let me guess you're a NON cuber
How does examination by two hands affect the solve in ANYWAY.
How does chairs affect the Solves in ANYWAY? 🤨
am beginning to question your mental states, are alright up there? 🤨
GOOD THING YOU'RE NOT THE WCA, 'CAUSE YOUR "RULES" ARE HIGHLY UNNECESSARY !!!
Why Should we Or the WCA care about your UNNECESSARY RULES.
The WCA RULES ARE FINE !!! GET OVER IT!!!
