Great video jt!! Getting the complexity , challenge, and success of competition visible to many is good for the hobby. You’ll hear some of the most experienced guys helping people choose a line or give other pointers along the way.
I got into RC crawling in 2012 thinking I’d never like to comp. Now I miss it tremendously as I don’t have the time to make more than a couple. Truly pushes you and your rig setup to get better.

what a nice thing to wake up to, thank you sir gentlemen and scholar :D yeah i went to learn, as it was Haleys weekend to work and we dont crawl without each other, i did bring my SCX24 but we didn't start anything for them that day, and if i would have ran it im not sure i would have made it past gate 2 :D lmao, and that was kinda my idea go to learn and if others let me record to share are awesome community then id do that too, ill def let people know that fine folks like yourself enjoyed their runs, thanks you for watching, hopefully the show is getting better :D or at least not worse lol and have a fantastic weekend!

Any video of the sporty or pro class?
As far as I know there wasn’t a sport or pro class at any comp I’ve been to yet, I soon as there is and if I’m lucky enough to film it, I’ll do my best work as always and share it, I’m always trying to learn as quick as I can as Haley and I just started the hobby a few months ago I do somtimes get overwhelmed, thanks for understanding and for watching I promise I will make somthing you like just not everytime 😅 have a fantastic night!
@@JT_JET They run Sporty and MOA usually at the end of the comp day since its usually just the same 5-6 guys running that class.
@@ArdinMcAllister oooooohhhh that makes sense, yea i wasn't there the whole day sadly not able to stay sometimes with a 3+ hour drive :D , and yeah from what i seen over the last few months is class 2 is the biggest class for sure, it allows so many different rule sets and you can make a rig do amazing things well still having resemble a real vehicle, thanks for clearing that up tho! to dang helpful, see yall hopefully in the next couple weeks on the trail again. have a great day!

Yeah I forget the comp rule set name for this, but this is nation wide event rule set that some of the best rigs and drivers in the world take part in, it’s not meant to be easy, I hope you were able to enjoy and for a rule like that doesn’t matter for number one spot that person isn’t going to hit a gate, rules are a mute point if your true goal is a perfect run 😅 it’s all how you view it I suppose, thanks for watching, have a great night!
All gate markers are live until touched. Even if a gate is progressed successfully. I say markers as each side can be a penalty if you touch both. There were rules back in the day that the markers died after successfully being progressed. But that hasn’t been around for over 10 years.
The course shown here is really tough. Normally the other course will be more manageable.
There are top contender drivers in MN and sometimes they put more challenge than some rigs can handle. But you’ll notice when looking at these gates that getting it clean is super tough. But if you just want to take the gate penalty and move on, you can get to one of the markers hit it and progress the gate without too much difficulty.
@@JT_JET the comp scoring rule set truly mimics real sorrca rules. Only thing is we don’t subtract scale points. Not that sorrca isn’t a possibility it’s just a logistical challenge to manage points tech every comp.
@@Siouxme4havingfun believe it or not but this was the easier side of the two course competition that day, I’ll have the next episode up next week with some runs on course 2, but yeah I agree with everything you said, in the past when I’ve competed in the thunder road comps they are sorcca based rules and that’s why the gates are dead after progressing and why a lot of people may be confused, really not a big deal it’s all fun and it’s all doable with the right rig and patience and somtimes luck 😅 thanks for sharing such great knowledge
@@Siouxme4havingfun ohhh okay yeah I’m so new to it honestly it hard to figure out what’s real until you go to one, I often just say play to win as in just try to do a perfect run anything other then that was just for fun and that’s well worth it. Can’t wait to compete in some more myself, my current rigs would have struggled beyond able to complete.
