  • On March 25, 2023, India’s environment ministry launched the Aravalli Green Wall Project.
The project will include planting native plant species on scrubland, wasteland, and degraded forests around the Aravalli hill range in Haryana, Rajasthan, Gujarat, and Delhi.
The history of the Aravalli Range dates back thousands of years and is the home of forests, wildlife, protected areas, UNESCO heritage-listed forts, rivers, and historical monuments.
However, the Aravalli hills are facing desertification and land degradation due to mining, unplanned development, and other issues. This needed some action and the Indian government has responded with a green wall which is conceptualized on the lines of the African Green Wall program.
Let us look into the problems at Aravalli Hills, the history and culture of the land, and why it needs a green wall.

It's never about starting projects, its about execution of the project. KCR started Harita Haram in Telangana and bought about strict laws and regulations. This ensured the survivability of trees and forest land. Telangana grew its green cover above the national standards. Every state should have taken such steps, and it would have helped the country in general.

Good effort. All pictures you have used are green and well covered by trees. They make one wonder why is an additional Green Wall needed! And most of the video is history. Request you to make one exclusively on the Aravalli Green Wall. Thanks and Best Wishes.
