    We put up two trees every year. I’m a single mom of three. When my kids were younger I couldn’t afford a really nice tree so I went to family dollar and bought a $20 Christmas tree to decorate our little apartment. Now we live in a bigger house and have a much nicer tree that I put up every year but I also put up my little $20 tree as well just because I think it’s important to remember where we came from. It’s kind of cheesy but I honestly couldn’t imagine getting rid of our little tree. 🎄❤️

    My little girl was 18 months when we put her in a toddler bed. I honestly didn’t want too but she was always climbing out of her crib while it was as low as it could go so it was worth my peace of mind to go ahead and make the switch.

      grace A in the Montessori method they opt to put babies in floor beds as early as 3 months (after the newborn stage) rather than cribs bc it gives the babies the independence and freedom to move. You just have to be sure to childproof the room very well so that this freedom is in a safe environment

    Our three year old is still in his crib. He is content, doesn’t try to climb out and fits great. Most people seem to transition at 2-2.5. Lots of sleep experts says basically says the later you do it easier it is and creates less sleep issues and they suggest as late as the kid tolerated pretty much.

    I would definately say big tree in your lounge and then smaller emma tree in the playroom half. Growing up we always had the 'proper' tree which mum did mainly and we passed stuff and then our tree with plastic baubles and tinsel etc and she let us do it how we wanted to! We took so much pride in it. We did them both on the same day with christmas music blasting and chistmas t-shirts, tops, onesies on. Always remember those days, they really made Christmas and family feel so special x

    Put the big tree in the big room, that corner is perfect for it!!! Then get a small tree that can be Emma’s tree and put it in the play room and let her decorate it how she wants!! Like go to the dollar store and get some little ornaments and cheap lights and let her do whatever she wants to it

  • @victoriacicero4734

    I am in Christmas mode too!!!!! Definitely two trees!! You can have the one in the play room with pretty lights and ornaments and then the tree in the family room can have traditional stuff like family ornaments and stuff. Or you can have a Normal tree and then the other tree can have a theme (for example, my family has a Disney tree!)

  • @DoranneB
    @DoranneB 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    When I had a home with a livingroom and a den, I had my traditional, big Christmas tree in the livingroom. That's the one I have ornaments on from when I was a kid (I'm 56!!), and ornaments my 3 kids made when they were in school, along with ornaments my mom & I made over the years, and some newer ornaments I bought. Lots of treasures & beautiful memories on that tree. My smaller tree was in the den. That tree was for whatever color scheme and theme I wanted (all blue, white & silver a few years) I wanted a themed tree, but I couldn't part with all my memories from the other one.... so TWO trees. It was FUN!

    3 kids here and we didn’t switch until our babies started to climb out. #1 was 2, #2 was 3 and #3 is only 22 months and still in her crib. SOOO much easier when they can stay put in their crib. 🙏🏼

    I say do both Christmas trees! I know when i was growing up i had like a small 12-14 inch one in my room and my mom would put all my small present under it to open until they woke up Christmas morning then all the rest and stockings were under the main tree!

    Suggestions for switching Emma to a toddler bed... If she starts climbing out of her crib like mine did at 15 months 😳 and sneaking into the cereal boxes in the middle of the night, then I'd suggest transitioning her before the twins arrive so you all have time to get used to her not being in a crib. (my son got up and down throughout the night in his toddler bed for a few weeks). Or, wait until well after the twins arrive, so you don't have to transition Emma with newborns. If she doesn't scale the crib like spider baby, I'd keep her there, lol. Cribs offer a certain peace of mind for us tired mama's.

  • @silkecanada
    @silkecanada 4 ปีที่แล้ว

    I had a crib with three elements that you could take out in the middle. Big enough for the kid to get in and out, but small enough so they wouldn't fall out while sleeping. No climbing necessary! Can't remember when we got a "big bed" for mine, probably way later when they didn't fit in the little one anymore.

    In regards to the toddler bed, I waited to put my son in his (his crib converted to one) until he was 2 or 3. Every family is different! I just hadn't thought about it before that Haha! I do think it's best to go straight to a twin size bed with one of those mesh railings on the side. It just makes more sense & saves you a step later. That's what worked for us, any way 🙂

    We put our son in a toddler bed at 12 months. I would recommend 18 months. As soon as your child can climb out of their crib it is time to transition because it is a major safety hazzard

  • @rizzwifey05

    Both of my kids went into toddler beds around age 2. Then they went into twin beds around age 4. As for the trees, I like the idea of more than 1. What my mom did with me, and then I did with my kids, is there was a big tree in the living room and a small 1 foot tree in my room with mini ornaments. Obviously Emma is too small for mini ornaments right now, but the idea of a kids tree has always stuck with me. So I agree a 2nd one is a great idea. Also, if the giveaway is for new furniture, where did the props come from? Why aren't you keeping any of it? You're having twins, so they would come in handy.

    I kept my toddler in her crib as long as possible! She slept so good, all night long & I did not want to mess it up. But like many others suggested, we switched her when she started trying to climb out (around 2 yrs old, took her a while lol).

    We have a 9-foot Christmas tree in the window at the front of the house. It’s our “game room” (300-lb foosball table) and a smaller one next to the fireplace. Each kid/guest bedroom has a spiral single tree either multicolored or red (from Target). Then everything is decorated. The last few years was a “candy land” type thing but since the hurricane blew our lives apart, we are able to change the scenery because our floors are being replaced over a year later (next week) and the floors are more boho chic. Ok. Enough paragraphing. 😉

    I have 1 piece of advice from a mom of 5 and I also run/own a daycare...
    1. NEVER ever move your toddler into a toddler bed until it is a must! If she doesn’t crawl out of her crib and sleeps well... leave alone! LOL.
    Love the new couch! Hopefully it’s in the description because now I want one lol

    She looks ready for a big girl bed very soon. If you have a toddler bed for sure use it but we went straight to a double bed but with rails that were detachable. It doesn't look the cutest but it really helped not having to transition to too many different beds.

    Two trees!!!! You can go to Facebook market place and ppl sell their trees all the time. Usually it’s because some lights are out but you could add your own lights to it and nobody would even be able to tell. I’ve also noticed ppl are selling their unlit trees so check out the selection. Good Luck!

    It's really all in all when you as a parent feel comfortable with putting your child in a toddler bed. With me I said when they crawl out of their crib it's time. So with my daughter that is what I did which she was only 11 months old. My son never did so when we were potty training him we put him in a toddler bed which was 3 yrs old. My reasoning behind that was I wanted him to be able to get up and go to the bathroom if he needed to.

  • @nannypat6520

    Regarding the tree situation I have an idea. How about the main tree goes in the living room, and then you can put a small cheap tree in the playroom, and only decorate it with ornaments the kids make as they grow up? You could call it “the kids tree” or something 🤷🏻‍♀️... Btw I LOVE the couch! 😍

  • @Nomo6372
    @Nomo6372 4 ปีที่แล้ว

    I did a toddler bed at 2 years old exactly. I liked it because of the rail part because my dude rolls all over the bed. Not gonna lie, he’s still fell out a few times, but it’s also low to the ground and I put pillows where he can fall out at. I put one side against a wall. I am adding rooms onto my house and once his new room is done, I’m going to be transitioning him into a queen sized bed so he has more room to roll. He is now 3.
    I have a 1.5 year old as well and he is still in his crib. I’m pregnant again 🤪 so I might give him his big brothers toddler bed once he (big bro) goes into a big bed.
    It differs with each child. They have more freedom to get up and get into mischief when they are no longer in a crib 😅 it didn’t affect my oldest sons sleep schedule at night, but nap time is harder.

  • @haleytaylor564
    @haleytaylor564 4 ปีที่แล้ว

    Emma looked like such a big girl in that toddler bed 😩😍 My daughter will be 2.5 next month and we will be switching her to a toddler bed... We put our 1st daughter in a full size bed (never did toddler bed) at 3. Our doctor even suggested to keep her in the crib as long as we could. Even at 3 she loved her crib but we wanted to use it for our 2nd daughter lol. Honestly in my opinion if Emma loves her crib keep her in it as long as you can, especially with the babies coming you don’t want to deal with a toddler getting out of their bed 24/7 and 2 babies getting up during the night if she will sleep through the night in her crib I would keep her in

And I'd put the tree in the big living room bc you probably want to be sure Emma can play in the play room for a min without you constantly having to watch her , so in my opinion it'd be easier , just Incase she gets curious and wants to pull on it to get the "pretties" off or something. I love you guys so much , I'm so happy for you guys and so excited for all the awesome new adventures in the new house and the 2 new lil nuggets coming.

    I say put the nicest Christmas tree in that room with the couch. That way, you’ll get to cozy up in front of it and take it all in :)

    You should totally get a second tree! My parents did that for me and my twin sister and we loved getting to decorate our own tree and it was our hight and as we grew older we got a bigger tree. Let's just say I loved that tradition. I will be doing it for my kids one day too.

    My boys stayed in their cribs until they were 3! As long as she's not trying to climb out of her crib, don't rush it!

    If all those things are yours to keep, id put the cot and the toddler bed in a separate room (possibly have the toddler bed accessable) and let Emma nap in it throughout the day until the twins arrive then they can have her old cot and she can transition to the toddler bed

      You call cot's a crib so change accordingly! I'm from the UK:D

    My mind has been on Christmas all year. We are actually putting our tree up this Sunday! You should get 2 trees, the more trees the merrier!!! ❤️💚🎄

    18 months we went to a full bed. She wasn’t sleeping that good anymore because she kept bumping the sides of the crib. I just got her a low profile platform bed and she loves it

    good rule for a toddler bed is whenever they try climbing out . that way when you put them in a bed with a baby gate they know that there isn’t the fun of climbing up and out

    I sooo think you should get a 2nd tree for the playroom. My boys have their own tree which they decorate as they want.
    My 5 year old went into a toddler bed around 2.5 years but his cot was a cot bed so toddler bed sized meaning he could fit in it much longer (he's autistic so safer too) my 1 year old is still in his cot bed with sides still on.
    Also our sofa has cushions like yours and the boys pull them off ALL.THE.TIME 🙈🙈
    Love the sofa you have 😍 here in the UK sofas are delivered by the company and most build them for you x

    You can get a small tree for Emma and future children. They get to put handmade decorations on that one. And save it for the next year. 😊

    I skipped toddler bed for my girls and went straight into a single bed with a toddler side panel to stop them falling out. Both were 18 months ish at the time. ♡

    We switched our daughter to toddler bed at 2 years exactly (birthday present of sorts). We would've waited longer but we found out we were pregnant and I did nap/bed time alone AND we didn't want her to connect baby equals major changes and end up hating baby. Bow, she LOVES her baby brother; she's now 3.5 and baby is 10 months.

    The couch is gorgeous! I love the color...I hope Mister's black hair won't stick too much on it. Where is he, by the way? I, being a mother of 2 cats myself, am always happy to see him and it's been a while.
    I would put the tree in the living room corner... that area you've pointed out is screaming Christmas tree!

    We have had the same couch ( dark covers ) for over 1.5 years. We love it! We have 4 kids and it had held up soooo well. We transitioned our oldest at 18 months, second around 2 years, third 18 months, last one was over 2 but before 3.

    100% you need 2 trees! I'm here for it! Plus, when she gets older and is bringing home ornaments she's made you can put those on her tree. They are precious & I absolutely love seeing them every year but they don't always....go with the theme of your tree 😉 so it's nice to have a smaller designated tree for them. "They're so special they get their own tree!"

    I kept my kids in the crib as long as possible. Waited until they tried climbing out. I’d do two trees, and I’m with you thinking Christmas already!

    One more thing, you get to keep all the “props”, yes? Because if so that’s AMAZINGGGGG that means by the time the babies are born Emma could be in the toddler bed and then her crib and the other one could be for the BOYS. I stand firm that it’s two boys lol! I put my kids on one in a year and a half. They loved it.
