emma you definitely gotta do more videos like this! getting personal is so rewarding and really connects the audience to you. you’re so amazing and beautiful and keep doing what you’re doing!❤️
when emma posts it’s definitely a good day! i was feeling down today but your voice is literally so soothing and i just live listening and watching your content 🩷
I was on birth control for about 12 years and got off for good this year. It has been the best decision I have ever made for myself and I am so happy to hear you turned it down to your doc! Stick w that. I am a totally different person now, in the best way. It’s not worth the negatives!
emma, i love how you are so honest with everything. your one of the only youtubers im subscribed to that actually tells how they feel about situations and is actually relatable and i love it. literally one of the best youtubers ever! ❤️
i seriously want to be your friend so bad. i don’t even know you and only follow you on social media and watch you on here and i love you. you seem like such a genuine person and that’s the kind of friend i need. keep being you the world needs more people like you❤️
every single time she brings up the search bar on tiktok my heart breaks. it’s so sad because she is so beautiful. she’s always been beautiful. I wish she could see the way that I look at her, because in my eyes she’s literally perfect. it’s just said that people are so mean and they think that they can just make comments about her body and not care. i hate it sm because she doesn’t deserve that at all.
for the person who asked about breaking no contact with your ex, I'VE BEEN THERE AND IT IS ROUGH. but believe me it's never worth it to break contact bc more often than not they don't want to speak to you so why would you give your energy to someone who doesn't even appreciate it? that's the mindset I had and now my most recent ex tried getting back with me and I turned him down, trust me they almost always come back! just focus on yourself.
Thank you so much Emma. This video truly meant a lot to me, and it was good seeing your point of view of these things that I struggle with as well because you’re so down-to-earth and I can trust you. I hope you can see this, and know how good of a person you are, and can see how much this meant ❤️
I’m 22 now and I’ve been on birth control since I was probably 12 for my periods and have never had any issue with it. If I take it continuously I don’t get a period or cramps, and I used to have terrible heavy flow and cramps so it definitely works for me!
I had been on birth control for my period during high school. It truly did help my period cramps and heavy flow, but the side affects outweighed the pros. Basically I started receiving all the bad side effects and was scared to death of blood clots. So after 2 1/2 years I got off it and I’ve never been happier. I truly think it affected my mental health as well, as it made me more emotional and my anxiety on it was ten times worst. I also experienced weight gain on the pill, so that was another pro of getting off of it because I lost the weight I had put on while on birth control.
I love when you do these types of videos. Makes me feel like I’m on FaceTime with you. I don’t have friends. They all left after highschool. So this makes me feel better
I have never met someone else who doesn’t like birth control as much as I do!!! We have the exact same opinion about it and I’m so grateful for that lol
ive been on birth control for just over 5 years now, i always had extremly heavy flows and bad cramps and for me it helped completely, now i dont have bad cramps like they are there but i can cope with them and go out be active it lightened my flow so instead of having it heavy for multiple days its only heavy for 1 day so ive never experienced any side affects personally :)
I have been on birth control since I started my period at 13 and I’m 20 now. I started taking it to help with cramps/heavy flow, but have recently come off the pill. It’s a whole different life than what I knew. My advice to any girl is don’t hurt your body with all of those crazy side effects and putting yourself through that. It’s not natural and I don’t even know my own body now.
11:38 for no contact…Don’t let the person from your PAST have access to you…the ending will always stay the same…breaking no contact basically tells them they can continue to disrespect you and it’s just not worth it in the end…keep the past in the past
the whole emma weight gain on your tiktok makes me furious. i’m 21.. my body is so so so different than when i was 16,17,18…. women hips, thighs, waist, all of that grows when they get older. some people call it their “grown woman” body. i am learning to accept my new body. yes it is hard, but never ever compare your body to your teen/younger body. as long as you’re moving around actively, eating foods that make you feel good both physically and mentally, then that is all that matters.
I don't usually comment but I just wanted to say thank you so much for this! I have problems with self worth and esteem from past relationships and your advice helped me so much!! You're amazing ❤
Girl, I feel you with the body dysmorphia, but PLEASE don't feel that way! I literally subscribed at first because you were OUTSTANDINGLY GORGEOUS (then I started seeing your videos and actually loved them lol). I feel like we often have no perspective because we compare ourselves with our IG page only, when in reality that's not even how most people look. It helps for me to put it into perspective to literally go outside and watch people's bodies. You will put it into perspective and see that you are actually on the 10% best bodies out there. You actually are really stunning so please do not convince yourself otherwise! ❤
i’ve been on birth control for my period cramps for almost 4 years now. 0 side effects, i only get my period 3-4 times a year, and i only ever have to use light tampons. i am SO glad i got on it when i did
i hate how much people’s word can have an effect on people, and i hate how even the most gorgeous people in the world still have insecurities. emma. you’re so incredibly beautiful, and your personality and mindset makes you all the more beautiful. i would kill to to look like you. but regardless, wear what makes you feel confident happy and comfortable and f everyone else’s insolent comments and opinions. happy new year pretty girl!!💞💞💞
I’ve been on birth control for like 7 years (the pill) for my cramps and it’s helped me soo much with the pain and regulating my period, with that being said i know a lot of people have negative thoughts on it which is understandable. my opinion is that you should be on a birth control that you still HAVE a period with and not one that stops it all together. it’s healthy to have a period and not having one at all sounds so scary to me 😅 I’ve thought about getting off of it but i am worried my cramps will come back as miserable as they were before.
i'm 17 and i started mine when i was 12 the moment i complained about my period my dr put me on birth control. i just stopped taking it a month ago! i'm really scared for anything that could happen but im so happy to see if my mood improves. growing up when you are trying to figure out who you are and knowing that it probably changes how you react was very scary to me
i'm on birth control for just my periods and let me tell you, it was the best choice ever lol. all my mood swings have lessened, and it made my periods lighter, but its also different for everyone, i know people who have had bad experiences too
Emma, I am 29 years old and birth control was not good for me. I took it to prevent pregnancy when I first got married. It messed me up. I couldn't get pregnant for nearly 2 years after stopping it. I had to get medication to start my periods again, medication to ovulate, and then fertility meds. I would never do that again.
I went on birth control for period cramps and was on it for 2 years and had mild side effects but it gave me a blood clot, so I went off it immediately and never want to go back on it. I would rather suffer through cramps than constantly worry about the health effects of it.
i’m on birth control and it’s been a life saver for me!! almost no period. i had debilitating cramps and horrible flow and that immediately went away after the first month. i totally get being scared because i was terrified but i could not imagine my life without it
I was on birth control for about 2 years for my PCOS (I was not getting periods and the ones I had were long, heavy, and painful). I would not recommend, While it did work great for me, its pretty bad on your body and can cause issues long term. I started going to a Naturopath doctor and she completely changed my periods (lighter, no pain, and I actually get them now) with just supplements and natural things. Kind of expensive, but something to look into.
my birth control is a life saver for me. you can’t really tell how it will react with your body until you try it, i’m always for trying it because it could literally save you. it did for me
for stretch marks i used a thing called bio oil and it completely got rid of them! i only had the stretch marks for a year so that’s probably why but since they have come back i’ve learned to love and except them as a part of me 🫶
6:19. i was on the depo shot birth control for a little over a year. i got on it because my periods were sooooo bad. i ended having a few problems, that all gynos said had nothing to do with the birth control. so i got off of it and my problems where gone, but after a few months of being off of it i got on the pill. and i’ve had a greatttt experience!! i’m very thankful my periods have been so much less painful and a lot lighter now. i have a lot of anxiety so i was definitely scared before making the decision to do so, but i’ve figured out what works best for me! there is of course so many cons, but it takes trial and error to figure out what works for your body best. do what works best for you❤️
Emma! my period hormones are also really rough, I suggest looking into essiential oils specially for pms! I use it every night and it has seemed to help me significantly when it comes to period mood swings & emotions. hope that helps!!
I've been on the pill for 11 years for my period. it has been lifechanging. It can take a bit to find the right one but I have been so thankful to finally be regulated.
i’ve been on nexplanon (the arm implant) for 3 years. within the first year i gained weight. my periods are irregular since being on it but it has helped my period cramps tremendously.
I heavily relate with the body image. Like, exact same. I wear sweatshirts and sweatpants 24/7 because I hate my body type. I don't know if ill ever learn to accept it and I feel like ill never be able to wear the clothes I want to :(
I feel like this is one of my biggest insecurities is believing people when I get a compliment like when someone says oh you look so pretty or beautiful etc. I say thank you but in my head I’m like nope they are lying or they are just being nice etc. I have gotten slightly better with it but it’s still hard.
I got the iud and it legit gave me the worst sciatica nerve pain. It was horrible I couldn’t even move. When it finally went away, I never had a period. But In 2 months it made me gain 35+ lbs. I was ALWAYS hungry. I could legit eat a meal and want another one in the next 5 seconds. It was horrible!!
I got on birth control for my periods as well! I did gain a little bit of weight from it which is totally normal! It def helps with periods mine only last 3-4 days now and they arent heavy at all! Talk to your doctor about options! I recommend if you have heavy periods and bad cramps!!
I’m on birth control- I have the IUD and I don’t notice any side effects. I got it to not have babies and I don’t get a period anymore. I get cramps occasionally but that’s it. You do you- you know what will and won’t work for your body. 💕😊
I get you about body image and self confidence! People are always complementing me on my body and I STILL never wear anything but running shorts, hoodies and oversized t shirts cause I feel like people are going to stare at me if I wear anything else that shows a lot of my body. I struggle a lot with confidence on my personality so the single thought of someone looking at me or saying something to me makes me extremely anxious and uncomfortable, so by hiding my body I feel like I’m hiding myself and therefore I feel more confident and secure. I swear the if you ever see me on a tank top and shorts I will be extremely insecure and weird.
Emma you are beautiful just the way you are embrace your body it’ll help with your mindset and take you to places that you never thought possible! Don’t listen to what other people say about your body they feel the same way as well remember that you’re a QUEEN I wish we were friends ❤❤❤❤
birth control is a required medication for me bc of my hormonal issues. i honestly can’t say i’ve had a bad experience with it, but i’ve also been on it since getting my period essentially so.
for periods i take magnesium vitamins every day and it helped so much. also “her time” drink powders change the game. i would drink one every day leading up to my period and i barely felt any pain
Emma, I truly believe you look so much better natural. Like, you always look good regardless but every video I see you without makeup I don’t know you just look absolutely beautiful. I don’t wanna come off rude I’ve just noticed it recently and been wanting to comment this!!
i started birth control when i was 16 and was the best thing i did. helped with period cramps and weight. now i have low iron so it helps me be able to reduce how much i have it (in a safe way obviously)
29 years old. I was always scared of birth control. Had my first baby last year. They tried to push birth control after, and I stuck with no. If you can make it in life with out it, I highly recommend.
Ok so as we sit on a “FaceTime like” videoooo; with shaving the downstairs area I relate so hard!! I’ve tried people’s routines and none have stuck!! I just use a non scented shaving oil (not coconut oil!! Once it cools down it will clog the shower drain!!) and I used a mens razor all my life up until my boyfriend threw a Venus women’s one in my boo basket and I absolutely love it! Has an aloe strip, 5 blade. It’s amazing! As it goes for my legs I do use a tree but shaving oil. And my armpits j don’t really grow hair there so once a month I’ll just take a razor to the little fuzz under there. I am also only 19 so maybe that’ll all change. However for now that’s what works best for me. When I use shaving cream bc it’s foamy and white I feel I cut myself too often bc I can’t really see.
i love feeling like i’m on facetime with a friend! we literally have so much in common! I feel the same exact way with birth control and i’ll probably never get on it!
my periods used to be so bad i would faint and throw up constantly. i felt as if i was sick with something because of how badly i felt from my cramps. i got put on birth control and i dont have any of those symptoms! the first birth control didnt regulate my hormones as much as i expected but they easily switched me onto a different brand and it was so much better! i havent gotten any side effect from being on it as well, no acne, no clear skin, no weight loss or gain
I really hating taking birth control. I had went on it to control my insanely painful cramps from my period & throwing up, but after like a year or so I quit because of the weight gain. And I felt like it increased my sense of anxiety and depression.
Same here. Is like we’ve FaceTimed together. Also I did had a high heart rate on Monday. But I took my blood pressure medicine to get my heart rate back to normal. Good thing I’ve listened to my body Emma. I don’t want to be sick on Christmas.
Hi Emma! I just wanted to leave a comment regarding BC for you and anyone else that has thought about it. I totally respect your feelings about it and I understand your fears. I don't want to scare you even more but I want this to be something that girls and women are made aware of because it's not talked about enough, if ever. I was on the pill for quite a few years to help regulate my period. In 2020 I had a pulmonary embolism do to a blood clot because of the birth control. Hormonal birth control can already increase your risk for blood clots but I also have a genetic mutation that puts me at risk of blood clots. However, I had no idea about the mutation. Nobody did any tests or anything to see if the pill was safe for me, my Dr just prescribed it and that was that. But because of the mutation I never should have been taking hormonal birth control. So if anyone reading this is considering the pill or knows someone that is, PLEASE ask to be tested first! There are a couple different ones, mine is called Factor Five Liden. A simple blood test will tell if you have anything like that and if so, there are some non-hormonal birth control options available for you! I'm sorry this was such a long comment but I need girls to know about this!
I like birth control so much that it helps me a lot. I have a severe period cramps and periods and it made me so sick that I have to immediately go on birth control pills and it made me feel so much better that I don’t have to worry about being sick whatsoever. I’m 22 and still on it because I think birth control is my best friend at this point.
0:56 thank you for this! i live in alberta canada and i’m sadly nowhere near a beach but i find lots of other ways that help me stay happy and healthy ❤❤❤
I have been on birth control pill (Tri Linyah) since 2020 and it helped my mood swings, my period and acne, I didn’t have any side affects, I went off it for a week and I was back to my old depressed suicidal self. I used to cry every night and be a wreck. So I think it helps me more then not being on it.
I’ve been on birth control for almost three years and I went on it due to my cramps being so severe in to the point of throwing up, and it changed my life my acne cleared up, I lost weight, and my cramps and period are almost nonexistent, the only side effect I receive was when I am very hungry I get stomach pains. I was very nervous to go on birth control but I was just lucky that the first pill I tried worked I have friends that have tried multiple so it just depends overall on the person.
birth control completely got rid of my very very heavy periods, but before that, Pamprin helped me a ton. Its a type of medicine specifically for period symptoms.
i asked emma abt birth control so for any of the girls out there reading this im on the depo right now and i love it. personally not having to take the pill because i was regularly missing them so it worked for me but know i nearing the end of it and i was questioning to cold turkey or find something else. i started taking bc because of acne and cramps and wasn’t in a relationship, now i and but my question to the girls here is do i cold turkey or find something else!
I have PCOS so I was on birth control for 8 years(I started my period when I was 12 and I am currently 20). This past June I went to the hospital for health issues and found out it was my gallbladder. While I was in the hospital they did an ultrasound on my gallbladder, which happens to be next to the liver. The hospital told me I had gallstones and needed my gallbladder removed, but they also said that there were 3 lesions on my liver(the biggest one being 4.3 cm) and recommended me to a specialist. The specialist told me I needed an MRI so they could see exactly what was going on. So about 2 months go by and I get my MRI, get the results, and meet with the specialist to go over the results. Basically, the results were that the biggest lesion was now 5.6 cm and that these lesions were from my birth control. He said that these are very common in young females on birth control and a lot of the time they are so small that it's nothing to worry about. However, in my case I happen to get unlucky. If these lesions grow too big they could burst or grow cancerous, so the specialist recommended me to a surgeon. The surgeon said that I would need to get off birth control immediately and then get another MRI to see if the lesions continued to grow or not. Since I have PCOS I need to be on some medication so I had to meet with my primary dr to get proscribed a new medication(which is a whole other series of appointments), which happens to be metformin(and no it does not help you lose a crazy amount of weight, maybe 5 pounds if you're lucky). Anyway, if the lesions end up growing to be 6 cm or above they will have to be removed, but my lesions are located in the back and are not able to be taken out in a simple way, so I would need to have half my liver removed to get all the lesions removed. Thankfully, the risk is 1% since we caught it early enough. Long story short please be careful with birth control and make sure you get checkups or scans if needed(as mine did not show up on any bloodwork). Birth control is not something that is needed for everyone, so I would say unless you need it or a DR says it is best for you specifically don't go on it. Even then make sure to speak with them about alternate options. In no way am I trying to scare anyone from birth control, as I was on it for 8 years, and coming off it I didn't really notice a difference. I just want everyone to be aware that there is more to birth control. However, I also have several friends on birth control who have no issues whatsoever. It all comes down to the fact that everyone's body is different, just be sure it's what works best for you and your body.
Hi Emma!!! Im currently on the birth control shot.I’ve been on it for about 5 years now, I get the shot every 3 months. I haven’t gained weight from it & I haven’t gotten no side affects. But it affects everyone differently.
Regarding BC.. i got on it when i was 19; first the arm implant then the pill. I was only on BC in total maybe 4 or 5 years and i hated how it made feel different. Shorter, less painful periods were great but not worth it in the end. I switched to a non hormonal IUD and i enjoy it much more, i have been on it 3 ½ years now and i feel how i used to feel before i ever got BC. And i switched to a cup instead of tampons and apparently theres not research in this correlation but I SWEAR the cup makes my cramps less painful. 🤷🏼♀️
I was the same exact way with birth control. Im 19, I got my period in 6th grade and it had always been very consistent. never had unbearable cramps or pain of any sorts. For that reason I never saw a reason for me to put unecessary hormones into my body if I function just fine. about 6 months ago I decided to try it out despite my fear and overthinking off all the possibilities that could happen to me. I have never decided to do something better. I take YAZ. I have had no weight gain, mental unsteadiness, or really any complications, MY period has shortened by a day or two but nothing life changing, my skin cleared up, my PMS totally went away and my period anxiety disappeared. I obviously have decided to not be on this long term knowing possible side affects of it. But it's definitely been a life changer throughout the start of college. Birth control isn't the same for everyone and effects everyone differently but its always worth a chance even if you stop after a couple months. I hope this helps someone :)
I’m 33, I was on the depot injection, I gained weight so I stopped that one, had a break for years but then I became really poorly in the last 2 years and ended up in hospital twice, and been on strong dose of antibiotics for pretty much 2 years. I was in so much pain without period pains so I asked my doctor if I could avoid periods and the whole other pain… touch wood I haven’t had one in 10 months
girl same about the bc. Doctors push it soooo much and it's honestly a little suspicious? And bc has so many scary side effects that I would never go on it either!
I literally love this girl so much. So genuine and honest across all of her context and platforms!
i feel like we are on facetime together 😭
fr cuz i feel the same way😭
Same

hey guys I am mackenzie, the one she mentioned in the video I am so shocked she answered my question but thanks emma for the heartfelt words

i'm on birth control for just my periods and let me tell you, it was the best choice ever lol. all my mood swings have lessened, and it made my periods lighter, but its also different for everyone, i know people who have had bad experiences too
Emma, I am 29 years old and birth control was not good for me.
I would rather suffer through cramps than constantly worry about the health effects of it.
i’m on birth control and it’s been a life saver for me!! almost no period. i had debilitating cramps and horrible flow and that immediately went away after the first month. i totally get being scared because i was terrified but i could not imagine my life without it
Same! I also had cystic acne and birth control helped so much.
Same
I was on birth control for about 2 years for my PCOS (I was not getting periods and the ones I had were long, heavy, and painful). I would not recommend, While it did work great for me, its pretty bad on your body and can cause issues long term. I started going to a Naturopath doctor and she completely changed my periods (lighter, no pain, and I actually get them now) with just supplements and natural things. Kind of expensive, but something to look into.
my birth control is a life saver for me. you can’t really tell how it will react with your body until you try it, i’m always for trying it because it could literally save you. it did for me
for stretch marks i used a thing called bio oil and it completely got rid of them! i only had the stretch marks for a year so that’s probably why but since they have come back i’ve learned to love and except them as a part of me 🫶
6:19. i was on the depo shot birth control for a little over a year. i got on it because my periods were sooooo bad. i ended having a few problems, that all gynos said had nothing to do with the birth control. so i got off of it and my problems where gone, but after a few months of being off of it i got on the pill. and i’ve had a greatttt experience!! i’m very thankful my periods have been so much less painful and a lot lighter now. i have a lot of anxiety so i was definitely scared before making the decision to do so, but i’ve figured out what works best for me! there is of course so many cons, but it takes trial and error to figure out what works for your body best. do what works best for you❤️
I love how genuine you are. You’re also so stunning
Emma! my period hormones are also really rough, I suggest looking into essiential oils specially for pms! I use it every night and it has seemed to help me significantly when it comes to period mood swings & emotions. hope that helps!!
i literally have been watching emma for yearsssss. i love her videos so much. ❤
I love your personality! You and Ellie have the exact same vibes as me and my little sister. I hope you have a good new years 🎉
I heavily relate with the body image.
It was horrible!!
i’m on bc and it hasn’t given me any side effects except making my period verrryyy light. everyone has a diff experience!!
I got on birth control for my periods as well! I did gain a little bit of weight from it which is totally normal! It def helps with periods mine only last 3-4 days now and they arent heavy at all! Talk to your doctor about options! I recommend if you have heavy periods and bad cramps!!
You can always get off birth control of you dont like it
I’m on birth control- I have the IUD and I don’t notice any side effects.
I recommend taking naproxen instead of ibuprofen for cramps, my mom is a pharmacist and that’s what she recommends 😊
Emma you are beautiful just the way you are embrace your body it’ll help with your mindset and take you to places that you never thought possible! Don’t listen to what other people say about your body they feel the same way as well remember that you’re a QUEEN I wish we were friends ❤❤❤❤
I agree 100% with your standards list of “not sharing our business with family and friends”!! 💯
Girlllll!!! Do not feel self conscious, you’re a women now you’re not a little girl, and you are fricken GORGEOUS!!!🫶🏼🫶🏼🫶🏼
birth control is a required medication for me bc of my hormonal issues. i honestly can’t say i’ve had a bad experience with it, but i’ve also been on it since getting my period essentially so.
you’re literally gonna be the best mom ever
u don't know until have kids
U
Emma you are so kind and give great advice!! I hope you’ve had a merry Christmas you deserve it so much thank you girl
for periods i take magnesium vitamins every day and it helped so much. also “her time” drink powders change the game. i would drink one every day leading up to my period and i barely felt any pain
this was honestly one of the most real video’s I’ve ever watched on TH-cam 🫶🏽
Emma, I truly believe you look so much better natural. Like, you always look good regardless but every video I see you without makeup I don’t know you just look absolutely beautiful. I don’t wanna come off rude I’ve just noticed it recently and been wanting to comment this!!
Girl the tree hut shave oil is amazing and smells so good. I highly recommend and for after your done shaving baby oil is also rlly good ❤
i started birth control when i was 16 and was the best thing i did. helped with period cramps and weight. now i have low iron so it helps me be able to reduce how much i have it (in a safe way obviously)
29 years old. I was always scared of birth control. Had my first baby last year. They tried to push birth control after, and I stuck with no. If you can make it in life with out it, I highly recommend.
Midol doesn't work for me either, but Pamprin is amazing! Everyone I have recommended it to has loved it as well.
When I use shaving cream bc it’s foamy and white I feel I cut myself too often bc I can’t really see.
comfort youtuber💕
i love feeling like i’m on facetime with a friend! we literally have so much in common! I feel the same exact way with birth control and i’ll probably never get on it!
not me being a guy watching, learning things! 😂 love the chill vibe
She gives shit advice especially when it comes to guys
my periods used to be so bad i would faint and throw up constantly. i felt as if i was sick with something because of how badly i felt from my cramps. i got put on birth control and i dont have any of those symptoms! the first birth control didnt regulate my hormones as much as i expected but they easily switched me onto a different brand and it was so much better! i havent gotten any side effect from being on it as well, no acne, no clear skin, no weight loss or gain
I literally love these videos! Emma you are the sweetest person and what I look for in a friend🤍🩷
Stunning!!! Love these videos 😍
lol I just up'd everyone's comments. such good vibes on this channel.
0:56 thank you for this! i live in alberta canada and i’m sadly nowhere near a beach but i find lots of other ways that help me stay happy and healthy ❤❤❤
you’re so relatable
U are luckyyyy
birth control completely got rid of my very very heavy periods, but before that, Pamprin helped me a ton.
been on birth control for about 2 years now. I LOVE IT. I do not even get a period and I have no negative side effects
Emma I truly love this video. you should definitely post more content like this!!
