From what I have been able to verify it seems to me to be only the management chip of the LAN network, it has no relation to the wifi chip. I found that the same chip is in apple's lan-thunderbolt adapter. I want to give it a try ;-)
My Mac Mini M2, just 65 days old, failed to boot...got the gong sound but then nothing happened. Tried all the standard user tests; swapped power cables, outlets, long press of start button, etc. Got to Genius Bar and they repeated my steps, then said it's probably a power supply and took it in for service. I can only hope they are as thorough as you were, when it gets to the workbench. Thanks for a very informative video.
The Genius Bar is one of the worst places to bring a Mac outside of warranty. If you had any data on it, it likely will be gone when you get it back as they will likely replace the motherboard. The power supply is rare. I’ve never seen it on a newer Mac mini.
Hi, thank you for what you’re doing, you have helped me along with my passion of fixing stuff. I’ve got Mac Mini M1 that keeps rebooting with pink screen just a second before crashing, DFU mode or Recovery doesn’t work. Sometimes it works for few minutes and I’m able to log in. Any idea why? Have a good w
They always pink screen before shutting down -- that part is normal. Sadly the crashing can be anything. I'd try wiping and reinstalling the OS before everything
Hello. The schematic for this card cannot be found yet. What is the name written on the IC that appears at minute 3:40 in the video? code number? I have the same motherboard and that integrated circuit has exploded, I can't read the code number on it, only CM577 at the beginning? I don't know the rest.
Hi, I'm one of your subscribers and I've been following your channel for a long time, many compliments, in many cases you've been of great help to me. I have a mac mini m1 that had power problems and I discovered that the chip that manages the LAN (IC BCM57762). I removed it along with a nearby resistor. The short is now no longer present, the Mac mini now turns on but the operating system does not start. I tried to restore in DFU but it's not possible, it always gives errors. do you think the lack of that chip will interfere with the recovery? Hoping for your response I send you my warm regards ;-)
I am aware of the audio issue. Nothing I can do after the fact of already recording

Thank you Tim, Nice video and really good and detail explanation, Please continue this way everyday video.
Great video and super informative! Never worked on a Mac mini before but your video helped me fix one in a couple hours. Thanks for sharing :)
Howdy! does coil have polarity? does it matter which end you inject voltage?

Just a quick note , this issue happened after a power surge.
@@vasyltokar4062 Best of luck, these can be the worst.
Great videos- how do I learn to do what you’re doing ??
I like the new constant uploads, keep it up!

Like the daily video's Tim !
thanks
What do you charge to work on an M1 Mac mini?
Had an M1 Mac mini die randomly - Apple is currently replacing the PSU to see if that was the issue 😬
It's not the PSU. It almost never is. $250 to $450 in most cases.
woulda been cool to see what pins for power test...
There is only 12v and ground on those pins.

Absolutely. They are very picky. If that is the Wi-Fi ic, then it needs the original to work, it’s not replaceable
@@TCRSCircuit I think it is the one relating to the LAN network and not to Wi-Fi
Niceeeeeeeeeeeeee easy repair
Thank you for another video, Tim!
Hope you are well.
But you need to visit a hairdresser, _definitely_ 😁
I offered to cut his hair but he was like ive seen you work on boards.
@@bryzztortello well, were you mowed his lawn?
Great video, but your audio is terrible and choppy, not sure if it's your hardware or YT itself.
See the pinned comment. I already know and nothing I can do. Realized after the recording.
You ruined that Mini by turning it into a PC !
My mac mini m1 just died. Even its not repairable. Apple is just scam.
Apple cannot tell you a device is not repairable. They lack the skills and knowledge to do anything other than basic repairs.
Exactly. Say what you want about PC, its very easy to take out a bad power supply and slot in a new one.
