    Don’t like the way they’ve rubbed out the prices and left them blank, that’s an old trick used when they charge strangers more than regular customers

      Be fair they're a small outfit , probably had to revise prices a few times due to he increasing food & utility prices . I doubt they're trying to con you out 50p

    • @ltrick3096
      @ltrick3096 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It’s not a trick at all. If you live in England you know we are in a living crisis right now. Majority of independent food places have to put their price up

    • @liamwoz1861
      @liamwoz1861 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@ltrick3096 it is so a trick, prices should be clearly displayed or what stops them looking at someone and thinking yeah I’ll change these £3 more! I know it happens because I’ve been to a place just like it and been charged different amounts on each visit with the last one being cheaper

    £80 for four Indian meals in a restaurant is cheap down here in the South West - the average takeaway where I am if £15 a meal.

  • @1mannik
    @1mannik ปีที่แล้ว +8

    The dishes u had today are what most actual Indian households might eat during a regular week . No tikka masala , no vindaloo , no naan , no korma . The stuff served up in most " indian restaurants " is a Bangladeshi restauranters take on Indian food made for the western pallet. Generally Indian food isn't "spicy " ... more flavour full .

    My mum was a seamstress also and I'd be dragged around the fabric stalls of Kirkgate Market as a kid in the 60's. The stall holders would unravel what seemed to me to be miles of fabric from rolls, in the hope of making a sale, only to be left rolling it all back up again. The market now seems to be more of a food hall, which is no bad thing.

    Hi Lee… I spent some time in Bradford where we found an Indian cafe which was cheap as chips and the food as good as anything you would expect in restaurant. 10/10 for your find. We are blessed with brilliant neighbours and Tina will either cook us an Indian meal (we buy ingredients) or will teach her indoors to prepare and cook the meals. Another great way to get great Indian or Chinese food is to go to your favourite takeaway and ask them to put something together for £20 just citing your favourite dishes. It’s really interesting what they come with and plentiful. If four of us go to a restaurant your looking at a ton minimum, apart from Wing Ipp in Purley which is adjacent to their supermarket where all the Chinese restaurant / takeaway owners buy from. You purposely over order and when you have had enough they will give takeaway containers to take the leftovers home. The Chinese eat there all the time. The supermarket is huge and your easily buy enough ingredients for ten people for £30. For example two half’s of crispy duck and sixty pancake wraps (you have to buy in bulk) £13. All you need to is put the duck in the oven for 30 minutes, no preparation and it’s what you would get in a restaurant. Back to your find forget the ambience just brilliant food and really nice people.

    Here in southeast Connecticut (US) that would’ve cost $10-$12, plus $2 for the soda. If it were dinner- $15 plus $2 for the soda. Full disclosure, the dinner portion would’ve been massive. We’re fatties over here.

    Looks good. My sister lives in Guiseley, a couple nice curry houses there which we ate at over the weekend during my visit from the US. There is one curry place here in Daytona Beach but the food is pretty bland. We have a Publix supermarket near us, they sell refrigerated Indian meals which aren't cheap but very tasty, these days I actually prefer the vegetarian stuff. Chinese food much better here but more and more people are appreciating Indian food.

    Ha, 'pig sick', as you might remember, I am in France, enjoying probably my last major trip before the nukes start falling. But I digress. Remember that my steak pie was better than the one you recently enjoyed? I'm a fairly good cook, so I am often disappointed when I eat out, because I can do better. Mind you, love two egg McMuffins.... 🤣 So here I am, in France, and I thought I'd have a night off from the burners, and went for a takeaway pizza.
    I struggled to eat two slices, and even then, I removed some bits. The rest went in the bin. I've got stuff to eat, but I'm going to have to down a litre of Bodeaux Superieur, just to remove the foul taste in my gob. How the feck do you mess up a pizza? I've had better from Iceland (I don't shop there).
    Due to the foul taste in my mouth, I am thinking home made curry tomorrow, when I get to Bergerac.
    If you ask me, that was an expensive veg curry. These veg dishes are a goldmine for restaurants. Maybe that's an idea. Do a veg dish one day, and a meat dish the next, maybe same 'family business'? 🙄🍷🍷🍷🍷🍷🍷🍷🍷🍷🍷😭🍔🍔🍔🍔

    Just a thought for today,I thought the photos of Putin now he looks like an older Rodger De Courcey.Now there are many out there who dont know who Rodger is but he was a vent with a bear called Nookie,I bet Putin wishes the bear was speaking for him now.On this a Wednesday I will be listening to Mansfields finest Megadeth.

    You don't need to eat meat with every meal. I am glad to see you break it up once in a while. You should do more vegetarian and vegan episodes. I have also seen you do a few Halal places, how about a Kosher place? Excellent video, too bad they wouldn't let you record the place. They don't understand how good a promotion it is for you to do a review. I have been to several of the places you have been to in the US. I look forward to trying a few in the UK when I eventually visit there.

    Nice mac ! In fact in parts of India they cook this type of food and give it free so everyone gets fed, everyone helps to cook and clean dishes. Nobody especially here should be hungry.

      They do it in most Sikh temples in the UK as well, our local one does, gave meals to hospital staff etc during lockdown.

    £80 for 4 would be a bargain down sarf where I live. Honestly Northerners don't know they're born!

      I’m from Leeds and I don’t think £80 for 4 curries is bad at all.
