Can everyone please take a moment to appreciate not only Bernardo's quick thinking in moving the ladder but also the fake Zorro's blatant confusion over the whole mess? You can SEE him thinking "I could have sworn it was over here!"
I think the biggest give away that he wasn't Zorro was the fact that he used a gun. When was the last time you saw Zorro with a pistol? But as a bit of trivia, I do believe the original Zorro from the novels was both a smoker and did carry (but not use) a gun. He used a gun to keep large amounts of soldiers at bay to prevent himself from being overwhelmed. He did this in the 1920 film adaptation by Douglas Fairbanks Sr.
ermm I wonder... how could Diego changed his cloth so fast and slowly walk back into the bar and pretend did not know anything.? That's what i like him so much in his Zorro persona...

This was the last episode I saw as a kid in Hungary, before my family moved to Japan, a long ago. This series was one of that I missed the most in the first few years. The only thing I could find in Japan was the theme song in a Disney song collection video (it had the second verse too, though).
How come, when Zorro shows up this time, people don't seem to notice he sounds different? I mean, I know we've discussed why people don't recognize DIEGO'S voice when he's behind the mask, but THIS guy? Do they think Zorro has a sore throat or something?

OMG even my 99 year old disabled great grandmother could have hit him at 4:55...I know it is only a show but I sometimes get rather frustrated how everybody manages to shoot people from a far distance but still miss zorro when he's 3 feet away
Even bullets respect El Zorro! And a miss at only a few feet is quite possible for the untrained or when the shooter panics or flinches. Like when the REAL Zorro is about to kick his a$$.

Monasterio gets owned by Zorro in every single duel in the show, but for some reason Monastario is always supremely confident that he's the better swordsman and wants to fight him one on one. Never seems to consider that Zorro might finally stab him in the heart and never has any inner doubts about why he loses every single encounter before, even though they sword fight like two times an episode and he's never been close to beating him. I never got why they made that part of his character.
When is this great series going to be on Blu Ray and colorized ? It took 40 years for Batman & The Man From U.N.C.L.E. to be released. I am 67. I cannot wait another 40 years.
Sorry to disappoint, but probably never. It's alot of work to Blue Ray remaster shows that were shot on film and not originally shot digitially to start with. It also requires stuff like the audio track which would have to have been kept and in decent condition for the last half a century. This version of Zorro seems to have mostly fallen from public eye other than in people that watched it as kids such as yourself. And with streaming, physical media is becoming less and less prized since most will accept less than perfect quality just to watch it on a streaming service. Alas, it probably won't happen. You can bet modern Disney probably considers it "problematic" because of the stereotypes and depictions of the time not to mention all the Spanish characters not being played by actual Hispanic actors.
This whole thing is already reminding me of the cartoon version of Zorro. It is like an reenactment. In the cartoon, the captain invites all of Diego's family but except in the cartoon, a female in Diego's family dressed up as Diego only to get the military captain confuse. That is when that woman say are you suggesting Zorro is a woman? Like the name of the episode because it is matching the theme of the cartoon version where there are 2 Zorros. 1 is the imposter and the other is real. And on top of that, the Sargeant in the cartoon version is also called Garcia.

A great show. I was just a little kid when this was on TV, and at age 4 or 5, I had my Zorro mask, black hat and sword so I could play Zorro too.

zorro should be out on DVD.
It’s on Disney plus but they turned the episodes into like a hour long movie which cut out a lot of funny moments. But oh well
It was released as a box set (both black and white and color) a while back.
