It makes no logical sense to take blue, as blue yields 50% chance of nothing, 50% chance of 300; whereas red yields 50% chance of nothing or 50% chance of 1000.

Jean is honestly inspiring. He has bills to pay and his family is probably the least comfortable financially (the rest said they were rather alright) but he offered to switch spots with one of the blue team members and took his teammates out for after
Living without money does that to you, it teaches empathy, and how bad things can be when you can't afford food etc. Since you've experienced it yourself first hand, it's easier to put yourself in to other's shoes. It's the same with other things, like drug addiction, withdrawal, mental illnesses, chronic pain, gender dysphoria, etc etc. Having experienced something first hand, makes it much easier to empathize with other people in similar situations. I just wish no-one had to experience such horrors in the first place :(
Foolish is more accurate. If you're in a bad place financially, your first thought should not be other people, it should be about you or your family, and then other people can come into the equation.
I understand people want the money, but after hearing everyone's stories and struggles in the beginning, choosing blue guarantees the money will be gifted to all or at least someone else who needs it. Yeah, I kinda hoped the secret rule would reward the selfless team but alas... Seems like the only way to win in America is to step on others to get yourself higher.
Yeah. Let’s make the teams switch places because they are playing fair and square. Also, team B had people who had money. Team A had a member who didn’t have lots of money but still wanted to switch spots with a member of team B.
That one girl is such a liar. Saying "I feel bad" after she got what she was hoping for. The only reason you would choose red is because you're hoping they'll choose blue so don't pretend you feel bad about it
team A knew that team B was going to choose blue yet they still picked red... don't say "i feel really bad about it" when you knew you could've split the money.
3:33 that’s my exact thought process. You’re guaranteeing that someone gets money by choosing blue. Even if you don’t get money, atleast someone gets something. You have nothing to lose because that’s not your money in the first place so you shouldn’t be upset about not getting it.
However, if one team goes red, then the total $1000 is more than $600. So in a sense, the team who won could share it with the other team if they wanted. So it's quite difficult
Red is the obvious choice. It’s a guaranteed crippling effect to the other team. There is no chance for the other team to win if you choose red. All that would be left is to put on an innocent smile with wide eyes while you take the grand
Idk those people will likely not have the grit or selfishness to survive in a apocalypse, assuming an apocalypse is like it is portrayed in shows and movies. You have to be selfish to survive. Is it morally right? Hard question, but it's often what is needed in survival situations
Well i feel like in an apocalypse is when people should work together for the benefit of everyone rather than just looking out for yourself. They just seem like they wouldnt trip me just so that they can some time to run away is all im saying 😝
i.g : i would disagree, the red teams leader listened to her team, trusted them, and kept her teams best interest in mind by maximizing their rewards. I wouldn’t want a leader that makes a choice not in my best interest in an apocalypse.
@@gamingsaint6238 The other group decided on blue unanimously and that is the decision their leader took. Democratically, it was in their best interest. As well as this, you must look at their individual characteristics. A group that looks out for eachother will survive longer than a group that doesn't, otherwise there will simply be mistrust and a disability to cooperate. For instance, if this experiment was repeated with the victors, they'd all lose because they know that the others would choose red based on their characteristics.
Minor Ears exactly my point, the team that won looked out for their team, blue might’ve done it democratically just like the victors but they weren’t thinking of the teams best interest. And if they did it again obviously they’d choose red because now they’d be thinking for themselves. Just like you put your country’s peoples needs before others.
cellophaneboy so did mine! Everyone chose a partner and then we had to either pick A or C and if both people picked C, then they both got a C grade for this small project, and if both picked A, they both got an F for the project. If one person picked C and one person picked A, then the C person would get an F and the A person would keep the A. My friend betrayed me and put A but it didn’t end up counting as a grade anyway, it was just an experiment.

The team made the decision all together just because she was the captain doesn’t mean she could just pick herself and she didn’t need to switch a player I feel that since they won and nobody else was like hey yeah I’m in a hard place right now this money could really help, then it was a fair game just different mindsets which is fine

It's actually quite deep, there's a video with same idea even older than this video that test how population would react if there's two type of human being, ones are aggresive the other are like to share. It's really interesting topic by the way, that the video could explain the survival level on each different proportion between the aggresives and the one who likes to share.
Yeah, I loved the blue team. But, I felt a little upset that Zaq tried to take a dig at Jean when Jean was trying to sacrifice his reward. I know that idealistic people often lose, but I am willing to lose and preserve my ideals. I mean If they chose red, no one would win. So they literally decided that as long as they choose blue, at least someone walks home with money. This works in the human world as well. We need kindness and idealism too. Otherwise, just like this game, if everyone is selfish, everyone goes home with nothing. The right balance of idealism and selfishness is basically what our society is built on, I guess. This is all just an opinion though. I am not an expert on anything, especially something like sociology.

She felt bad because she feared how she would look in hindsight, not because she regretted her choice to win more money. She half-admitted that. I think she deserves some leniency for being disingenuous. Playing the red card is fair play, just not the result I'd like to see. Someone who wants to share the money is also tempted to pick red when they expect to lose.
I don’t blame her. She’s just playing the game. It was a really smart move on their part because they had the other team pegged as selfless. Unfortunately, good intentions didn’t win the game. Don’t hate the player, hate the game.
this is a really bad “experiment”, mostly because the blue team really had it to loose, they would only pick red if they were intentionally trying to get the red team to not get anything. The secret rule should’ve been that they switch cards.
I agree, if the other team picks red, you're pretty much screwed. Your choice will only affect if the others get the money or not. And that secret rule is so good because it rewards being a sharing person, and it teaches a lesson to the people that wasn't

Technically they made the most logical decisions for an everybody eats scenario. If both teams chose blue everybody gets 100 dollars if 1 team choses red and the other chooses blue everybody gets over 150 dollars if they split it evenly.
In my negotiations analysis course, we played variants of this game a lot, but 20-30 iterations per game. For example, competitive oil pricing. So if you think Red is always the superior choice, you're dead wrong. There are only that many rounds the more altruistic team would choose Blue to establish trust. You can fuck them up the first time(s), but you'll eventually be forced to change strategy, else you'd see a long column of 0€ for your earnings for months.
Enork TV sameee I was like this is the perfect opportunity because they said there would be a surprise rule that would be introduced at any point in the game
I mean if she actually felt that, them picking red could have been a win for both parties. They have the option of giving the blue team half their money - which would give everyone $500 rather than everyone getting $300 for both picking blue. They have a pile of cash, they are face to face with these people, I see no reason why they couldn't split it.
Waldo them picking red also could have meant nobody gets anything if the other team felt the same way they did but, if you pick blue someone will definitely get money and if the other team feels the same way then both get money.
Waldo and not to say this in a rude way but she didn’t actually feel that way because she didn’t even try to give way half (500) or even switch places with someone
Next time you do this, introduce this surprise rule after choosing colors. Switch their envelopes. Or you could tell them that they're choosing for the other team.

Jean is so kindhearted. He tried to convince the team to do blue but they chose red anyways. Then, he said that he would gladly switch, once again shot down by his team. And in the end, took the members from the other team out to eat. This man is a legend.
He’s a really good guy.
Bombastic you're full of crap. Jean is not a good guy at all. Literally at 2:45 he says "we are all leaning towards red, I'm an all or nothing type of guy". He was just as much about screwing over Team B as the rest of them. He only tried to play the nice guy when he had to look Team B in the eyes and reveal that they had betrayed them. He's the type of guy who does his dirt in the shadows when no one's watching, but as soon as he gets caught he wants to apologize to save face.
Taking out for dinner was also a bullcrap move. Him and the rest of Team A robbed Team B of the money they could have used to take themselves out for dinner and more. And then he buys them some pity food to make try to save face once again. Screw all of Team A.
TheActualTruth I disagree. If you watch carefully you’ll see that he continues to want to at least try to choose blue. Maybe he sometimes changed his mind, but that is what happens. Maybe he isn’t great, but he is better than all the others. You don’t see the others offering dinner, now do you?

Living without money does that to you, it teaches empathy, and how bad things can be when you can't afford food etc. Since you've experienced it yourself first hand, it's easier to put yourself in to other's shoes.
It's the same with other things, like drug addiction, withdrawal, mental illnesses, chronic pain, gender dysphoria, etc etc. Having experienced something first hand, makes it much easier to empathize with other people in similar situations.

Ed_H_1508 but the no one gets money so that’s the problem with ethical people
However, if one team goes red, then the total $1000 is more than $600.

“Same”
“Yeah me too”
*no...no you’re not*
jean is!!
Technically they made the most logical decisions for an everybody eats scenario.
If both teams chose blue everybody gets 100 dollars if 1 team choses red and the other chooses blue everybody gets over 150 dollars if they split it evenly.

But Team A didn’t share with Team B. Are you kidding me? They took it for themselves

It's not exactly a selfish decision. There is money on the table and risk involved. If it's business, it's business.

Camera man : Surprise Rule is a reverse uno card.
Team A: We should have been nicer
i Actually thought that might happen 😂😂😂
Enork TV sameee I was like this is the perfect opportunity because they said there would be a surprise rule that would be introduced at any point in the game
@@lawrencekungu5164 If that rule were to be given .. it'd really ne intresting and fair
Pineapple Face ok but it’s not the camera man
I was hoping for this surprise rule
I wish the surprise rule was that people who picked blue actually leave with the $1000 instead
Hi kuzon
That is so lame and ruins the whole point of the experiment. Face it do. Niceness doesn’t always win.
Maisy just has a massive ego and thinks that she is a kind person saying she felt bad and would not of done red but in the end she stills chooses red.
She was smart im pretty sure there would be alot of people who would do the same
Yeah, the only reason you'd choose red is so you can get everything or nothing. Blue is the only good option.
Jean, what a man. That is so kind how he took the other team for dinner!! Stay humbled and kind. Good things will come your way💛💛
If you have to push down others for your own advantage, just do it. Then invite them to dinner. Note taken.
Team A: All or nothing!
Team B: Everyone should get money. :)
Also Team A: Wins the game
Life is unfair
I would have choose blue but my reasoning is in that way, doesn't matter what the other team choose, someone will definitely win money.
@@Megasterik Excactly

Next time you do this, introduce this surprise rule after choosing colors. Switch their envelopes. Or you could tell them that they're choosing for the other team.
The first one is INSANE.
I wanna see it >:^)
I would choice blue not because I am a nice person but because I know millions of people will watch this on yt.

I would choose blue because of episode 5 of naruto
