exactly... more so at the point where they introduce new bricks. Once Kat openly said she is going to vote for destiny and continue to do so, the value of the other contestants bricks diminish more.
Exactly that first girl made this video hard to enjoy, like atleast get some competitive people to make it interesting. All that cringe crying on camera is weird
I wish in shows like this people with sob stories would be put together separately cuz I notice in every video as soon as a person breaks down crying you can already tell they are going to win. Not sneak dissing anyone, Destiny’s situation is hard, but it just makes the win predictable and leaves no chances to others because if they pick themselves they’re gonna be viewed as selfish and “bad guys”
@@gribomb6283 no it means you're smart. Everyone came to win money. If one person starts sharing their sob story the only other way to compete is for everyone to start crying. And some people have a thing called pride 💀💀💀
You do realize whoever needs the money the most is typically who has the saddest story? If someone needed the money for an otherwise terminal disease, would you not say they need the money the most? Destiny didn't win because she had the saddest story, she won because Kat was persuasive and unwavering in her decision and goal from the start.
@cherrydoll I mean all fredo said was that he needed money for the "real world", hearing aids, and his jaw. All of them are in college so obviously they all eventually need that money for the "real world" so I don't think that was the best argument. He didn't bring up the second two things until round 2 which makes me think they weren't super pressing. Even then hearing aids are usually bought on a "pay as you can afford" bases so most of the price would already be covered. All he really said about his jaw was that he wants to "do something about it", but that could mean anything from a small check-up to a full on surgery, so he wasn't really clear on why he needed that money. Not tryna discredit his struggles or anything because obviously we don't know what he's going through but it seemed to me like Destiny was just more specific about why she needed the money and that's probably what convinced everyone
Kat is such a genuine soul 💛 The group is so supportive towards one another! Love this episode. It's so heartwarming! she didn't make anybody do anything, she gave her reasons for needing the money and always voted for someone else. it's not her fault that kat was pushing on her deserving the money
Honestly, i don’t like how Kat chose Destiny bc she was the most emotional in the beginning. Destiny talked the most but the rest of the people could have been purposely delaying more about their story. It seemed like Kat didn’t want to hear all the other perspectives.
I could be wrong as I'm inferring, but I think my logic matches hers fairly well. She probably anticipated other people to vote for her and so did so as well to make a better case for just funneling all the money to one person. It would fit her logic for the rest of the game as she states it.
I don't understand how no one is seeing that Charlie was the one who chose Destiny before they voted and Kat simply chose the one with the most bricks..which happened to be Destiny after the fact
@Mac kat was the first to vote. she didn’t know what the other people chose. Charlie is just one person out of all of them. at 6:48 Luis wanted to give the people without bricks a chance to speak more about their side. but Kat didn’t even want to hear it. It had barely been the 2nd round and she was already stuck on one person. 7:04 she was already convinced.
I feel like the younger generation, esp college students have so much empathy for each other. In the other episodes if there was a sad story the response from other participants was usually “well I was there at one point, they’ll be fine” whereas these students are saying “I was there at one point and I feel for them” just showing they actually care
i feel like no matter what you try these money challenges will always end up being "sob story Olympics." I would love to see a video where you vote for people without knowing why they need the money, it would be interesting if it was anonymous.
Oh it would be interesting if people weren't allowed to say why they need the money! And maybe it would be more about the person and their personality :)
I agree, I just feel like these sob stories make the game feel rigged in a way. Like someone like me who was conditioned from a young age to not share my struggles with people outside of my family wouldn’t feel comfortable sharing a sob story and this would disadvantage me in this game. So yeah I really agree with you.
So how do college students decide to split 2000$ when only one person gets the money? Wouldn’t it be how do college students decide who needs 2000$? Because the answer is all of them….
Videos like this make me wish I was well off/wealthy so I could track down everyone in this video and donate to them, they all deserved it for how kind they were!
I dislike the dynamic of "who has it worse" when it comes to games like this. People work to gain pity points and as much as it is preached that all problems are valid, the issues are still viewed as greater or worse than others. I get that people have problems and I sympathize with them, but I don't like the pity me mentality and would have preferred to hear why they are going to school and what they want to contribute to the world using that degree. A debate about the actual degrees and why the 2k should be invested in them would be super interesting.
There should be a group of "Hardship" and a group of " For the next step" and a group of "for Fun" in separate shows. Getting a car should not be pitted against addiction issues. Notice how Boobi and Fredo simply advocated for themselves (with little love) and didn't bring up their family/medical till "Hardship" seemed to sway over school needs. You handicap all players when someone plays the biggest "Sympathy" card....BUT if everyone had a SOB STORY...then you would get a real view of fair - even level - empathy from folks. Sorry Kat kinda had "White Savior" in that she tried to sway but can't live a day in everyone's shoes to really know the real story and guilting them to follow your lead isn't fair here. You will never REALLY know what the winner does with their winnings. M was sweet but her mom should be on a show...every kid's parent prob. have a story.
Lol I also feel Kat even was more drawn to Destiny's story because she was a fellow white woman. Even if that wasn't the case, she was more drawn to Destiny's story and vocalized it and changed the game.
Exactly! I feel like Destiny’s mom having a 4th baby knowing she can’t take of them is dead wrong…. Plus Destiny’s medical bill is from a relapse which means she could be tempted to use the money that will enable her to relapse again. No all Destiny’s hardships is from her making terrible decisions and her mom making terrible decisions
it's not destiny's fault. Destiny was honest with everyone, and she was probably crying BECAUSE it was hard for her to share. She did nothing wrong here
Y’all gotta find a way to do this without letting people give a sob story, it’s really obnoxious and irritating to watch XD People know that a sob story will win, so those with entirely valid struggles, if not more serious, are ignored.
this video was so uplifting and depressing at the same time. it was really nice to see everyone being so understanding and empathetic. on the other hand, so many of the struggles they (and their families) are facing are things no one should have to go through. i truly think every single one of them deserved the money and i hope things get easier for them all.
I want to see one episode of this series where they all end up voting for themselves😂😂 see how interesting that’d turn out or how embarrassing or awkward it’d be that everyone voted for themselves🤣🤣
No doubt Kat is going to UCLA, she is such a G and you can tell she guided everyone into helping a person in need. You can definitely tell she is going to do big things!
Weren't they all in need in their own ways? I don't say she invalidated everyone's story but she made it seems like only Destiny was deserving of the prize just because her story touched her the most. From the first round it was like there were no other issues than Destiny winning. I get the "winner must earn the most money possible " thing but she didn't let other have a chance of voting for the people with the story that touched THEM the most.
I like Luis because he seemed like the bad guy when he just voted for himself but you got to see layer as it progressed. He is most human in that sense to me. His purpose was entirely for self and I loved that to because he is very honest to say that in a game like this. I mean throw out a sob story and you set. Not taking a shot at destiny. It is what it is. Just my opinion.

I'm going to be honest this was not fun to watch. It didn't feel like everyone had a fair chance of winning, Kat really treated everyone's problems like they weren't valid. This video might as well have been titled "Will Destiny Win $2000?" because all the focus was on her (not her fault tho, it was because of the people around her). Also who just says "I'm gonna vote for so and so." It's weird (like what was the purpose of saying that?) and it ruined the game.
Kate wasn't disregarding other people's problems. She just recognized how the game was structured. According to these rules, the winner doesn't win the full prize, only what correlates to the number of bricks in front of them. In such a game, debating who deserves the most money and splitting the gold bars won't change the actual winner, only reduce the amount of money the winner takes home. In such a game, the optimal strategy once you realize you won't win is to convince everyone to consolidate around first place, in order to maximize the amount of money they take home. Anything else only hurts the group
@@stephenking9114 yeah but she tilted the game for destiny to win. She influenced everyone to vote for destiny. Hmmm a white girl voting another white girl to win. When the other POC had also needed the money

AGREED! could've saved it to herself, I get she wanted the most money for her but miyeong and fredo also had real very similar issues and they deserved a chance to win equally compared to destiny. Kat really guilt tripped the entire group
I didn't like this episode, ngl. I don't like that people said who they were voting for outloud. I think it put pressure on others to also choose that person.
Honestly, the prize should just be $100. That way people can play light-heartedly instead of groveling for money that won't make a difference. AND THEN Jubilee should should make another show where 7 people give their sob stories and IMMEDIATELY vote for one person to receive $1000. So now we have a fun game to watch, and another wholesome game to watch without having to hear people beg on their knees for 15 whole minutes which is kind of humiliating tbh.
Kat's really making me tear up with how selfless she is. And Miyeong is so cute, hopefully she can help out her mom. Would be cool if they put their paypal or venmo or something for us to contribute a few bucks to people
I hope every single one of these beautiful people is blessed beyond comprehension for their kindness towards each other in this video, and for the sacrifices they made even though they were ALL deserving. I have this feeling Kat and Destiny know each other. I have a hard time assuming someone who needs money and is saving every last coin they got and someone who comes intentionally to a game to win a lot of money somehow decides F it I am gonna vote so someone else can win it. Just doesn't add up.
Maybe she’s just a kind person, who realized she could help someone out. Her logic made total sense. If only one person was gonna win the money & the money is based on how many bricks you get, it makes total sense for her only wanting Destiny to win. Destiny already had the most bricks.

I feel bad for Fredo. Obviously Density and him both needed the money but it sits wrong with me. Especially because with Destiny, she had 2 half sleeves of dainty tattoos (costing her 100s of dollars which she mostly likely got done during college or the end of highschool). She used her money on superficial things and then came here to seek money from the show when you could see Fredo needed it as much as she did, but he decided to outwardly live a more frugal lifestyle. He didn't spend his money on this type of stuff and then seek money from others on top of that. Sorry if this doesn't completely make sense. I 100% agreed with Kat. Everybody is going thru hard thing and everybody needs money. But them voting for each other and in the end one person taking like 200 or 300 is not gonna change anything. Kat's idea of them voting for one person and really make a big difference in that person's life.

If they don't say what they need it for them how would they know who to pick. I generally think that they should just have no sob stories like stfu destiny. And don't tell anyone who they're gonna vote for or advocate for anyone
Justice for Fredo... How are they giving more money to Charlie because he seems nice, when Fredo mentioned he needs a hearing aid and only gets one golden bar?
The best strategy here is to look like you "need" the money. Thats exactly what Destiny did and made people feel sorry for her. At the end when they asked her why she thought she won she said "I dont know" because saying "I made people feel sorry for me" is quite hard to say.

You are very correct. Especially since lots of reasons people have to go to the hospital are for things they can't control.
I accidentally drank wine that was improperly stored and went to the ER for 5 hours, the bill came out to $34,000
Imagine if they actually mentioned the real issues behind it, instead of trying to appear like the solution just bc they give away 1000 USD - which is almost insignificant to them and I assume the actual hospital bill as well

I think for the next games they shouldn’t be allowed to say who they’re going to vote for and why. It adds so much pressure and bias to everyone else and it changes the dynamics of the game.

This wasn’t a fair game at all. What is the point of the curtains if they are going to ask people who they voted for.
I wish in shows like this people with sob stories would be put together separately cuz I notice in every video as soon as a person breaks down crying you can already tell they are going to win.
But sweetheart, whoever needs it the most is also whoever has the saddest story……..
Kat is such a genuine soul 💛
The group is so supportive towards one another! Love this episode. It's so heartwarming!

That’s literally the point of the game, only 1 person gets the money
she didn't make anybody do anything, she gave her reasons for needing the money and always voted for someone else. it's not her fault that kat was pushing on her deserving the money
Kat & Destiny’s little friendship alliance is so pure i adore them
you forgot Charlie and Fredo kinda
Honestly, i don’t like how Kat chose Destiny bc she was the most emotional in the beginning. Destiny talked the most but the rest of the people could have been purposely delaying more about their story. It seemed like Kat didn’t want to hear all the other perspectives.
and then she wanted everyone else to vote for Destiny lmao
I could be wrong as I'm inferring, but I think my logic matches hers fairly well. She probably anticipated other people to vote for her and so did so as well to make a better case for just funneling all the money to one person. It would fit her logic for the rest of the game as she states it.
Bro, pay attention to how the game works.
I wish people could play this without bringing up their life problems. The winner is predictable every time

So now we have a fun game to watch, and another wholesome game to watch without having to hear people beg on their knees for 15 whole minutes which is kind of humiliating tbh.

I'm struggling to explain it without being too harsh on Destiny.
