Use to shed hunt on the regular when I was a forester in downeast Maine and the North Maine woods. What a rush when you find one, from a spike to monster! It’s an addition for sure.

During the winter they seem to prefer the red maple whips and balsam firs the most

That is a shame. Post some whitetail sheds in a video. I hunted Maine a few years back in the mid 90 s. Before that I hunted the Adirondacks for 12 years. Maine us the toughest to hunt.
I live in Pa. I stopped hunting out of state.
