I just love this. And I love the limited colour palette. As someone who usually is a "more is more" painter, I am really finding in FYJ that less is way more! 🙂
Since taking Karen Stamper's Free up Your Sketchbook and Grow course I love concertina books. I even had a section of an exhibtion devoted to people who finished off books I"d made and started off with mark making and collage a couple of years ago. As for gesso over charoal! I really love scraping clear gesso over charcoal or ArtGraf Viarco block marks and drawings. while it's wet you can rub into it, wipe it back with wet fingers or a rag. I'm headed to the studio - NOW!
Glad to drop back in to catch what you're up to, Louise. I"m just heading off to NZ/Oz so I'll pop in again in the New Year (back home on the 31 Dec. Happy Christmas!
Love it! Thanks Louise, love your exuberance. I have used old paintings in the past, cut them up and created a concertina book. It’s a great way to start as there are nice marks and colour that jolt the imagination. I then make the cover from fabric I have eco printed and dyed. Books are fun!!❤
Brava, Louise. These particular media were made for artists like you, and those of us who need to express the essence of the land. Thank you for this wonderful demo.
I loved seeing how you worked on this. I have always loved dry stone walls but I never feel I can capture them in a loose way. I did especially love the part where you loosely drew the wall.
Love this Louise! Another example of the stunning work you create even when you're just playing. Also, I highly recommend Art Tribe - there is so much there to explore and enjoy.
Thanks for showing that image transfer! I've never watched it being done. And i like the way you use the gesso. And you r free wheeling expression does inspire me, too!😊
I loved this and I just love to hear you talk during the video. I took Art2Life becasue of you. I am still working through it but I see the philosophy in your videos. Thank you.
Love this Louise! Such an inspiration for those struggling to let loose. I have to try that image transfer technique. That was eye opening. Can you use matte medium or does it have to be gloss medium?
Thank you so much for this Louise.! Loved the whole demo and the tips and the spontaneity and the concertina book. You have inspired me to experiment more without thinking about the end image ie the PROCESS!
This "class" is not a class at all. You are asked to sign up, say a few things about yourself, watch a promo video and then it's over. No instuction at all, no demo.
Beautiful. I love it. Thank you, Louise. So inspiring.
so lively and energetic. Thank you.
I LOVE the stone wall transfer!! cant wait to splash gesso over the paint for a random texture!
I love watching you make your magic ! So loose & so free ! You're such an inspiration !!

Sounds like a wonderful trip! ❤

Thanks so much 😊
Thank you so much! Love it😍👍. What kind of paper do you use here?
this approach looks so much fun.
It's wonderful! You should try it 😊

Wonderful!
Glad you think so!
Totally love this free sailing.....off to the studio...lol
Glad you enjoyed it!
I love watching your processes! Thank you so much for your inspiration. ❤❤❤ I’d really love to learn how to do that image transfer.
You can do it!
Love this, sooo amazing thank you for sharing Louise. What sketch book are you using here, or are you making your own?
I made this one! 😊
That was great. Please film more art process videos!!
I do - they are in Art Tribe x
Loved watching you create and play. Do you ever frame your concertina pages?
no! These are sketchbooks and not meant for showing or keeping in that way
Do you have a video to explain how you make the transfer? thank you !
Love your work, Louise. Can I use gesso with oil paint to create texture? Usually, it's oil on top of acrylic?
I am afraid I have no idea - I don't use oils.
Hi Louise. The prints you add for the walls ladder etc is that photocopied? Just thinking ink jet printer wouldn’t work as well as it will smudge?
laser jet printed
Ink jet works ok as long as you leave it to dry thoroughly before transfer
Love this Louise! Such an inspiration for those struggling to let loose. I have to try that image transfer technique. That was eye opening. Can you use matte medium or does it have to be gloss medium?
I'm sure you could but I mainly use gloss! ❤
Thank you so much for this Louise.! Loved the whole demo and the tips and the spontaneity and the concertina book. You have inspired me to experiment more without thinking about the end image ie the PROCESS!
So glad you enjoyed it Josephine! 😊
What kind of paper do you use?
So Cool! Can you use an inkjet printer and then spray it with a light fixative before doing the transfer to help it adhere to your surface?
No idea - try it!
Nitsa Malik on TH-cam shows how to transfer both laser and ink jet prints.

Louise didn't say it was a class. The title very clearly said 'demo'.
I have no idea what you are describing but it's not what I am offering!
