Cristian Castro has to be one of the most underrated singers of all time, and by far one of the most talented of all times.
Cristian is so underrated…. He has a very powerful voice. Even Juan Gabriel said he has the best voice

The whole album this song is in is an homage to José Jose who've you reacted to before. Cristian Castro is at his best in this album, in my opinion. He reigns in his usually over the top performances and really does Jose José justice and goes for that style of singing.
This song is from an album he did as a tribute to José José. This song is a walk in the park for him. He goes way much higher. When you say it looks effortless it's because it is for him. "Por Amor a Ti" is a good oldie.
Cristian Castro is not one of my favorite Mexican singers, but when he gets serious he can really surprise more than one!!!

Excellence! We grew up with him, such colorful voice. Unique artist. I finally got to see him in April this year live. His best years were in the 2000s and this Jose Jose tribute. But still he is just awesome live. Great lyrics, great interpretations. He definitely knows how to project the emotions to the lyrics of the songs. He said it himself "my songs are full of drama." If he had been an actor his genre for sure would be drama. But he has fun songs too.

Cristian's song AZUL towards the end, may very well be the best voice in all of the American continents, listen to the end of AZUL he does some insanely incredible things on that song.

Yes, in another mv Jose Jose handed him the mic...Castro could of chosen to simply sing it without JJ ok, but Castro is humble and has great respect for the big ones like Jose Jose, Vicente, Juan Gabriel etc

On "no podrás" a song of his own and some others, you can listen the heavy metal influence, in most of them you can hear some great guitar riffs and he delivering some sick beltings.
This was a classic Jose Jose song he made an homage.to him with several of his songs, since Jose Jose was like his godfather in music.
Hi Beth. I’m a fan of yours. In this song Cristian is really emulating Jose Jose, who made this song famous. You didn’t get the pop/rock vibe because he is paying tribute to someone he really respects. You should look into other Cristian songs suggested in the comments. You’ll probably find he sings generally about an octave higher than he did in this song, and he typically stays more in his mixed voice rather than chest like he did here.
