You are so right as a kid I never really noticed how unique and good the voices and music is until you see how different cultures react to it and puts it in perspective of the talent that comes out of Mexico.
For many years I hid the love I have for JuanGas music . Many of us do. We love corridos. But something about JuanGa is just so special. Mexico has some of the most beautiful artist/singers. Arriba Mexico ala verga 🇲🇽
Most amazing about Juan Gabriel, is he was autodidact, he had already composed tons of songs before even learning to write music, and everybody was surprised about his way to sing without any kind of training or formal knowledge.
In other words, Juan is a master at his craft. You being aware of this kind of perfection makes you a great teacher. Give us more of this beautiful man PLEASE!!!
The Juan Gabriel's magic is tthat he can make you travel from deeper sadness to high happiness and this trip is enjoyable 100% in every single moment. He don't sing, he paint feelings in the audience with his voice. Excelent reaction!!!
I'm a long gone gringo... fell in love with México and all heart it has... always love música latina... Juan Gabriel has to be one of the best composers singers and over all a treasure...looks like you're in tune.... Cheers from México!
@@igorz3551 agreed... México is under rated... The music food cultures all make México amazing... As a 15 yr plus full timer... (ex pat)... I came here to learn all i can... Cheers from México
I had the absolute pleasure of seeing him live at his second to last tour. His energy was UNMATCHED and his voice and talent will never ever be forgotten.
Me encantó tu reacción Beth!!!
I always say this. Juan Gabriel sang about 1000 times in buses and in the metro, in the streets, and some othe 1000 dive bars by the time he was 15, the rest of his music career he already owned any stage. He had whatever volume needed to sing, the tone, the vibrato, or the cry, he had done it all millions of times before. He was ready for whatever.
El Divo de Juárez! He is legendary. He was beyond good and evil. He was Juan Gabriel. The one and only and there never was or ever will be anyone like him in Mexico or LATAM ever again.
Something about Juan Gabriel is that although being an amazing singer he also is a performer not in the choreograph dancer type of performer but very comfortable in his skin. He LOVED the dramatics. Which translated into his music. Which is why a lot of songs are sung very dramatically and tell an emotional story. Also it’s why he was very comfortable performing and creating a connection with his audience. He LOVED to tell a story.
This man was larger than life, and like you said he owned a space when he performed. He was beloved by all of Mexico, and even though I am Mexican I didn't grow up in Mexico, or in a Mexican household, and yet I don't remember a time in my 38 years when I didn't know who Juan Gabriel was.
Cuba, 1998. Unforgettable journey, unforgettable music. Not in the least for a song that is emitted over the radio and that can be heard in public over and over again. When the song plays, people grab eachother and slow danse in the streets. A-ma-zing. Of course I talk about "Así fué" With the help of locals, I write down the lyrics (Yes, I'm talking about the Digital Neolithicum times, even Paleolithicum on the island). At the end of my holidays I knew the song by heart and left with a counterfeit cassette version of his reknown live-performance in Bella's Artes. The whole package is gold quality - even after all those years. I'm not ashamed to say that - while watching your video - I simply couldn't hold the tears. You're absolutely right about the cracks: this "imperfection" makes it perfect. And let's not forget the impact of the musical accompaniment: especially the moment when the trumpets and chorus unite and go crescendo. Wooow... So emotional, lovely, tears keep flowing. Gracias Juan Gabriel, thank you, Beth.
Sorry if I make you cry Sorry if I make you suffer But it's not in my hands But it's not in my hands I've fallen in love I've fallen in love I fell in love Sorry if I cause you pain Sorry if I say goodbye to you today How can I tell her I love you? How can I tell her I love you? He’s my favorite Mexican singer of all. He had such a presence in his concerts. I don’t know if you heard him sing his version of Have You Ever Seen the Rain, Gracias Al Sol. He and other Latin singers played an homage to CCR titled Quiro Creedence. I really enjoyed it.
Such a great song! His music has been covered by many! One of my favorites is De Mi Enamórate by Daniela Romo. Beautiful song that only Juan Gabriel could have written. ❤️
My fam used to listen to his songs when I was a kid and it just touches your soul deeply and now as an adult knowing the lyrics.. You cant help but feel so emotional and he was such a great artists he looks so proud of his music and talent. Not many like him now
Juan Gabriel was our Elton John. Think about it. Two short chubby middle aged gay guys with excellent voices and even better songwriting skills with a flair for exotic costumes. Too bad we never got to see these two music geniuses do a collabo but at least there was mutual respect and admiration among them.
You look so lovely when you are moved by Juan Gabriel. Seeing you makes me feel proud to be Mexican. Indeed, Juan Gabriel has been the best contemporary Mexican showman (in second place is Luis Miguel, who you also know). Unfortunately, we will no longer be able to see him. I love you!
I had the pleasure of working security at his very last concert in 2016 at the Forum in Los Angeles. He seemed very happy and put on a great show in front of his adoring fans. At the end of his encore, I helped him walk down the semi-dark stairs at the rear of the stage. He thanked me for the help, and I told him that he put on a great show...2 days later he died of a heart attack....RIP Juan Gabriel

One of the all time mexican singers of all time. Legend!
He has melody. It's the most overlooked quality in music yet the rarest.
Melody.

Sorry if I make you cry
Sorry if I make you suffer
But it's not in my hands
But it's not in my hands
I've fallen in love
I've fallen in love
I fell in love
Sorry if I cause you pain
Sorry if I say goodbye to you today
How can I tell her I love you?
How can I tell her I love you?
If she asked me
I told her no
I told her no
I'm honest with her and with you
I love her and I've forgotten you
If you want we'll be friends
I'll help you forget the past
Don't hold on
Don't hold on anymore
To an impossible
Don't do yourself
And don't hurt me anymore
Not anymore
You know very well that it wasn't my fault
You left without telling me anything
And even though I cried like never before
I wasn't still my crush
Then you left
And you came back
You didn't tell me
And without anything else
Why? I don't know
But it was like this
That's how it was
I wished you the best of luck
I decided not to talk to you and not to see you
And now that you've returned, there's nothing left of that
I can't and shouldn't love you anymore
I don't love you anymore
I've fallen in love
With a divine being
With a good love
Who taught me
To forget
And to forgive
I'm honest with her and with you
I love her and I've forgotten you
But if you want, we'll be friends
I'll help you forget the past
Don't hold on
And don't hold on
To an impossible
Don't hurt yourself
And don't hurt me anymore
Don't hurt yourself
No more
No, no, no, no
Ah-ah-ah
Ah-ah-ah-ah
