I just did a stripped plug in a 2V triton in a econoline, i got the kit on amazon for around $90, short of having limited access the kit made for a easy repair
Had to replace a thread on my '65 Corvair. It was kind of scary as you get once chance. I don't remember what brand I used. Not a lot of choices.. It's aluminum head had less than 1/2 " of threads. That's why it failed.

The tap make it a bigger diameter with the same thread pitch.
