I’m just loving the vintage yellow cardigan, white shorts and belt. So summery, stylish, fresh yet elegant.
I know so many people hate light-coloured summer outfits with black shoes, but I love it. It gives the outfit that tiny bit of edge, especially if the shoes have a block heel or a chunkier design.
I think you’re the only youtuber who I don’t mind saying chic. Just turns me off when others says this is chic that is so chic, but with you I know you are a classy lady not just saying chic to try to sound cool and grab attention

I always wanted to look elegant and put together but it felt impossible with my budget and the options available for petite women in India. I graduated from Business School last year at 25 and I have been following your channel since then. Your videos have helped me move closer to my goal and helped me find my style. I own fewer pieces than before but they are all things that fit my style and wearing them makes me feel great.

Instead of the black sandals, I'd personally go with white or brown since my summer wardrobe is mostly made of light colours. Loved the tips, especially how you can integrate trends into your wardrobe without having to change your style. Great tips and relaxing video, as usual! ❤️
Same! Black kills colour and my summer wardrobe is colour based.
Ditto, not just because of the clothes, but because of my own coloring. I'm blonde and don't wear black at all. I do have some fun camel-colored block heel sandals that are doing the job that Audrey recommends here. Great video as always!

You can always wear Birkenstock’s around the house for good support even if you don’t want to wear them ‘out’ in a year or two
South FL here! I’ve found that many fabrics used in sun protection clothing allow me to cover up from the sun while staying comfortable. Styles like the long sleeve white blouse you’re wear while narrating this video, in this kind of fabric, usually includes discrete vents and has moisture management properties that don’t wilt in humidity. As someone who is very sensitive to sun, these have saved me (and I’ve always been a natural fibers girl). I’m more comfortable covered up in these fabrics than when I’m wearing less coverage and more exposed to the elements. Of course, not all sun protection clothes are attractive, but there are some gems with classic tailoring.
I'm from Australia and I also have sensitivity with the sun! (Very fair with freckles and prone to burning) it's winter now in the southern hemisphere, but this is a good idea for me to prepare some sun smart summer items. Thanks!

Great job Audrey ... thank you for taking us on your "Summer Journey" 😎. I got big Isabella Rossellini vibes today from your main (white shirt) look. And I enjoyed your strappy, lacy, black camisole, with white gaucho pant, look - gorgeous. Lots of head nodding here about the sweaty feet factor in hot weather ! - a big consideration in high heat or humid climates.
I find summer to be the easiest time to dress well. The secret is to keep it super simple. A good pair of well fitting shorts paired with a basic sleeveless or short sleeved top, and a nice pair of sandals, avarcas, or espadrilles always looks great. Gold hoops and top knot, and I'm done! The fewer items of clothing I need to choose, the easier it is to keep my look streamlined. It's winter, in which I have to layer and layer, is where it gets hard for me.
I love layering , I find looking chic in the summer hard . The trick is to start with a good base layer of a lightweight long sleeve, a quality sweater and a tailored overcoat.
@@ah5721 a tailored overcoat is not realistic or possible if you live somewhere with rough winters that are really cold and wet. Same with nice shoes. It's just not doable. I settle for something that looks decent once I get inside. It's also difficult to layer with my body type (petite but very busty), and it's also necessary because of the contrast of the outside and indoor heat blasting.
Yes to scarves! I have A LOT of them from long, skinny especially great for using in my hair or tied on a tote bag all the way through Pashmina and sarong size for a shawl, wrap, etc. 😁❤️
8:16 is lovely, elegant and flirty at the same time--more for my daughter than me, but just lovely. I also love the toile like print blouse just before. I agree with black sandals! Your shoe sensibilities are amazing and I take your advice keenly. I tend toward all vintage, but updating the shoe really gives vintage a positive contemporary feel--very nice. Love this video!

I am normally a fairly classic dresser, except in summer. It is fun to rock some luxe resort chic in the city, such as boho chiffon tops, Indian style dangly earrings and a generally elevated beachy vibe.
Hi Audrey, I absolutely agree with you about belts. I love them and always wore them even one others didn't. They help complete an outfit.

I love wearing my flat blush pink sandal.
Because it matches my skin tone, It basically disappears and gives the illusion of being barefoot. Any flat sandal matching your skin tone (whatever that may be) creates this casual, carefree style and silhouette.

Really great video. I love how you shift the focus to what we can only wear in the summer. It helps me not miss my coats. (Although I'm already thinking about fall.) I also have Birkensrocks, I bought black ones with one strap and a larger silver buckel. They still look chic and go with everything!
When its hot ..love a maxi dress that skims ( not tight) the body in a linen or cotton blend..dress it up or down...

Love that you are so realistic. Then your advice is so much easier to incorporate in everyday life. I have learned that my wardrobe needs to contain items that I can wear all day and not feel like I have to change into something more comfortable the minute I enter the house. By the way: I feel much more elegant in spring and summer, than I do in the cold season. Love from Denmark :-)

Audrey, thanks for the style tips ! I am experiencing a heat wave with high humidex readings. I use a silk scarf to belt shorts instead of a leather belt. I find it doesn’t feel or look as heavy . I also have many different linen pieces in my wardrobe for the summer and it is a game changer! Over a decade ago linen was found to be very scratchy but now there are many pieces you can find that have a smooth finish.
High quality linen shouldn't be scratchy. I just bought 6 yards of linen and it's soft . If the linen you are able to buy is, it's probably not for clothing or it's probably a lesser quality.

The combo of Florida heat and humidity means you can only wear light weight sleeveless and shorts

I live in northern Virginia just outside Washington, D.C., and would melt in some of these outfits. They are very attractive, though. I almost can't even wear slacks in the summer unless I know I'll be in cold a/c. I live in shorts and sleeveless shirts in the daytime, too.
Hahaha try Middle East specifically kuwait. It’s sizzling hot . And as a muslim woman I cover up my body and hair of coarse. The good thing though we have air conditioning EVERYWHERE.. we don’t do outdoor activities at all during summer

In the past you've asked about input and request and I'm ready for two now :)
1. With weddings not happening and moving celebrations to backyards instead I'm curious to have options, as the mother of the groom on what to wear. It will be a small gathering with temperatures around 70's. With my present condition I would definitely will need to wear a mask (perhaps to match my outfit? Or wld that be way too much!) and keep contact distance.
2. No harm in dreaming right? ... so we decided to reserve a spot for a Latin American cruise from Miami down to Lima!!!! I am Peruvian! :). I believe the weather would be around mid 60s. God willing and vaccination on hand we might be able to travel beginning of Dec. 2021.
So there you go :). Can't wait to see you again!!! And soon since my son's wedding celebration (now a brunch for immediate family since they've pushed the wedding for July 2021) will be July 25th.

Yes, very good tips. Where I live in Canada we don't get much of a summer. And, when it finally starts to warm up we coup ourselves up in the air conditioning. Funny that you would mention Berkinstocks being a "trend", here they are a staple, ha ha. Stay indoors and stay safe.

A lot of this advice is quite specific to Gamine body types (which you are), and don't translate to other body types (structure, black sandals, block heels), but otherwise timeless 😉 as always!
