In the course of my life, I have had the chance, thanks to my professional activity, to visit more than 80 countries in the world. I have seen extraordinary and beautiful things. But, forgive me for my slightly chauvinistic side, in all that I have seen in half a century, there is no more pleasant harmony, no better art of living, than that of French towns and villages. Whether it is the perched villages of the Vaucluse or the Hérault, the Breton villages or the towns of Normandy or Alsace, the Basque and Picardie villas, and even the historic cities whose names everyone knows, the French Hexagon is a concentrate of history, art and way of life of which I know no equivalent. Lyon, Bordeaux, Rennes, Strasbourg, Nice, Lille, Metz, Toulouse, Nantes, Montpellier and maybe even Paris, are just a few examples of the richness and diversity of this country. But to be satisfied with these wonders and forget the thousands of villages, each more picturesque than the next, would be infinitely negligent. Let's go! May I allow myself a discreet "Vive la France"? And I apologise in advance for my broken English.
