This was fun! The first time you drive a series Land Rover, is an awakening! I have a 1966 S2A. No power steering, or brakes. With a single circuit and drum brakes, you REALLY need a strong right leg, and plenty of planning to stop. Watching that pedestrian walk out in the crosswalk without looking, at the beginning of your video made me push my foot into the living room carpet! Lol🤦🏼♂️ They do that here in California too!😱 Glad you decided to adopt the Landy. I think you’ll have fun with it.👍👍
I bought my series 3 from a parkinglot next to the dealers showroom. It was raining and cold and i didn’t drove it. Needed some work on the clutch. I picked it up three weeks later and paid, the road home was like an adventure. It never had any issues and i still drive it almost every day. Lovely car and my pride and joy.
Loving this, driving around with the top down in winter playing James Bond music, so funny. I have a 1986 Land Rover 109, love these old Landies. Cheers
Nice to have you guys back and filming. I love these 70s Land Rovers. I loved them in 70s Doctor Who when UNIT was in the stories and I would love to buy one as a wonderful piece of British and military history.
Thanks for the comment Brendan! Yeah, they are great! Have to check out the 70s Doctror Who, my son is a big fan and has them on DVD I think! Fantastic car : )
I soooooo enjoyed your video. I just bought one exactly like the one you drove. It's being put back together in Spain and then will be shipped to me here in sunny Florida. I've decided to continue with the hardtop and then do conversion to canvas. It I ever had to sell, the person would have excess to the safari hardtop, but in Florida, the openness will be perfect. We really don't need a heater here. If it is just too hot, well, I drive my other car...haha YOU made me so excited and impatient waiting for my car which will take two months. I'm a 70 year old female and I loved seeing the wife LOVING the car. It assures me that I made the right decision. I just wanted a fun car that will probably not leave the barrier island of Cocoa Beach. Did you buy the car? Or was it just a fun outing? Anyway, thank you for taking me on your fun ride. I even felt a little cold riding with you...haha
Nice Landy, good patina... and car found the right owners, not the owners found the Landy.... Seems like they hide away somehow, and appears when the right people comes by... A Land Rover do have a Soul... no doubt about that... Enjoy the GreenFinn, regards from RSA.
