It took me way too long to figure out why my attempt to replicate this was resulting in my celtic knots generating away from the origin of the mesh and totally out of scale to the original shape. Anyone reading this with the same issue, make sure to hit CTRL+A and apply a scale once you have your object in your desired shape/size before applying the curve.

yeah thats supposed to happen. You can delete the original mesh and keep the basket.
