    You know, this channel is so educational. (especially for someone who'll never operate equipment). I'm 43, and right up until I started watching this channel several years ago.. (about the time you had to change the track on the linkbelt) I always thought of excavators as being digging machines. They dig holes. They fill holes in. they go dig more holes. You continually prove these machines are capable of, and do MANY more things if you have the right operator behind the controls. Sure.. ultimately all still related to earth moving.. but you sculpt landscapes with the one machine. It's pretty magical to watch.

    I gotta say, the joy sticks that I added to my office chair are working out just great, this culvert job only took me an hour , I'm really getting the hang of this Volvo and smoothing bucket, the farmer is happy.., the horses are happy, I'm happy...,time for a lunch...."I wonder if the wife is delivering to the job site today....I can hear her phone ringing in the living room but she's not answering...
    Thanks for helping out Chris, see you on the next job👍👍👍

    I have been working with the government on cattle watering access. They call them hardened access. You dig into the stream half way across and six inches deep. You do that for 40 feet to get the angle. Then you put fabric down. That is hard when the water is flowing. Then you put 4inch gravel over it. The first year we were digging it back out of the creek. I scratch me head and think “Sometimes”.

    It’s a satisfying sound to hear that 220 eat trees. Every time I hear it, I know something else is going to look better.

    • @thedissidentcitizen
      @thedissidentcitizen 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      There IS no other sound so pleasing to me than a good tree cracking so loudly like they do when that 220 eats them for lunch !
      My personal favorite to operate is a really good sized bulldozer D8, D9, JD 750, 850; D10 and bigger need a pretty extreme purpose.
      I've seen a LOT, and I mean A LOT, of excavator operators in my day (40+ years in the biz (off and on, here and there) and Chris (right? Chris ?); I haven't heard him say his name - that I can recall - I'm too mesmerized by watching his skills) and he is by far the best excavator "pilot" that I have ever seen !
      Judging from these videos, he is a master, apparently, in any piece of equipment that he operates - awesome, with oodles of forethought given to the overall goal of each project from planning to completion. No, or very, very few, wasted movements at all; every movement of every control is with full intent and precision execution from a jackhammer deathblow to a tree or concrete pipe down to a feather touch on a plastic drain tile.
