The remarkable thing about the bee sketch is that Cook plays Beryl Reid's stooge, giving her almost all the laugh lines. Normally determined not to be upstaged, he is content to be the writer. Her over-precise diction and florid reactions are priceless.
SO glad someone posted this. Peter Cook remains the greatest genius of television comedy EVER! This show was probably the best comedy show ever. And the Beryl Reid bumblebee / rastafarian sketch the absolute pinnacle! That sweet-old-lady smile, those immortal lines: "We worship the late Emperor Haile Salassi. "... Mind you, after a few good tokes, I'd worship ANYTHING... HA! I remember I had a really good spliff of Hawaiian and I spent 3 weeks kneeling in front of a coat hanger."
I saw this when it was on tv - I've never forgotten "Tales Of The Much As We Expected", but it's a joy to see this clip, I donlt remember the bumblebee sketch at all! Excellent classy comedy writing.
Apparently Cook could have done a series, but chose to go to America instead. Oh well. Am still hoping the 'Where Do I Sit?' episodes will emerge, perhaps from the Dead Sea.
The more I watch dear Cookie, the more I think that not only was Dudley a good foil, but that Peter could only find it in himself to act opposite him. Still, it's a narrow criticism of a genuine genius.
ok so i do have all of it then, thats a shame i was hoping there may be some more to find, wish i was old enough to have seen these on tv, nothing like it now.
haha i am no one special and cant claim responsibility for collecting all this, i wasnt even born when any of this was made as im only 21, i just(with some luck) used the internet for whats its great for, finding things and found as much peter cook as i could get my hands on, i like you never thought i would see some of this untill not long ago. be better if i was peter cook incarnate i know, sorry.

"Would you like a drink?"
"No, no, no, I never drink during working hours. I could use a joint!"
Perfect!!
This is hilarious! I'd never seen anything like it before thank you!
Jah bless Beryl Reid
There was only ONE episode of Peter Cook & Co. - but one hour long.
I remember this when it was first aired i am sure there was a sketch missing with Rowan Atkinson.
Apparently Cook could have done a series, but chose to go to America instead. Oh well. Am still hoping the 'Where Do I Sit?' episodes will emerge, perhaps from the Dead Sea.
Keep scrolling!
