Amazing video. Where did you get that cylindrical chuck that you use to lay the slab on for doing neriage on the wheel? Or did you make it yourself?
I made it myself. It's thick bisque ware and easy to make with a wheel.
Thank you. Not many artist try to define the difference between each technique. The term "agateware" can also be used for the Marbleware as that was what my teachers called the technique but has its roots tied to the England pottery tradition. (as far as I know there is not an equal to the Nerikomi/Neriage )
I didn't mention Agateware specifically because I am not familiar with English ceramics, but thanks for letting me know about it! The techniques of decorating the clay itself is a different aspect of decorating with glaze, so I think it is possible that new techniques will be derived from those. It is a very interesting world, isn't it? 😄
