Atma Bodha-Self-Knowledge: Shankara's Teachings for Enlightenment

  • เผยแพร่เมื่อ 6 ม.ค. 2020
  • Atma Bodha is a Sanskrit text of 67 verses in which Shankara reveals your true nature (atma) to be sat-chit-ananda, the eternal, limitless consciousness, non-separate from the supreme reality, brahman. The discovery of this truth (bodha) results in enlightenment, moksha.
Because of the profound nature of this text, it might be helpful to pause the video at the end of each verse and re-read the verse for the sake of deeper comprehension.
A note about writing on palm leaves: After palm leaves are inscribed with a stylus, the the etched letters are not clearly visible until ink is applied, as seen in the final scene.
Swami Tadatmananda is a traditionally-trained teacher of Advaita Vedanta, meditation, and Sanskrit. For more information, please see: www.arshabodha.org/

Till my death I would be grateful swamiji you introduced me to Indian spirituality just before suicide ! By my mistakes my love went I was a junky far far from awareness consciousness and in spite of having enough money my best friends fade away oh when I quit drug by force ! Not voluntarily! My eyes opened and just I wanted to not be anymore in this planet I envy to my late sister and then mysticaly I came across vedantic speeches in TH-cam that changed my attitude to life and gradually slowly I fell in love with Indian spirituality that is the best remedy for a tired soul. Dear swamijis and sadguru and... I owe you my life I appreciate you. Now I seek happiness Whitin I want to be a jivan muksha and then get out of my body .thnx🙏🏼🙏🏼

Indian philosophy is divided with inner self and Supreme self. You can see jain philosophy and buddhist philosophy.

Your process is Atma-Vishara, the deliberate determination to investigate one's true self. As such it seems you have disciplined yourself from outwardly distractions and disciplined yourself from inwardly distractions of the mind such as desires and angers, this is Yam and Niyam, respectively.
Due to your understanding and concentration on the deliberate determination to investigate one's true self you are able to concentrate upon knowledge of the Self, this is called Dharana.
So Yam, Niyam and Dharana have been practiced. These are numbers 1, 2 and 6 of the 8 limbs of yoga. Imagine what can happen by practicing the remaining 5 limbs?!
Have a blessed journey however one choses the practiced path. Jai 🙏
