A Spiritual Cure for Hate, Racism & Casteism: Manisha Panchakam

  • Discovering the essential divinity of all beings leads to love and respect for everyone. Based on Shankara's hymn, Manisha Panchakam, and the story of his encounter with a filthy outcaste who was actually Lord Shiva, taking this guise to teach Shankara an important lesson about bias and discrimination.
According to the non-dual teachings of Advaita Vedanta, the true self, atma, has no caste, no gender, no nationality, no ethnicity, etc. It is the inner divinity that dwells in us all, equally, identically. The goal of Vedanta's spiritual teachings is to lead you to discover atma and gain moksha, enlightenment. Recognizing your own true nature as atma, you will recognize the same in everyone else.

Misinterpretation is a serious misuse of power, abuse of knowledge and betrayal of people's trust. I am not surprised that some Brahmans interpreted the scriptures to their own benefit because you know power corrupts, and absolute power corrupts absolutely..
This problem disintegrates whenever such quality work as yours is put out there for all, with content designed for an audience of every age.
The days of hoarding information are long gone.

In fact cast system did not become rigid until Manu , who was a Khshtriya(warrior class) because if you look at it Parashurama who was a bramhin lead a Khastriya life and Vishwamitra who was a Khshatriya by birth lead the life of a bramhin.

These kind of people are really saying until these things are gotten rid of I will not practice the Dharma. These things are all interpersonal. Deep gratitude for your accessible and profound teachings. Is Vedanta compatible with quantum loop theory? Loop theorists posit that mathematics can now measure the minimum quantum of matter and the maximum scale/size of the current universe. Those physicists theorise that the edges of the universe are indeed measurable and that on a plank scale the smallest component of matter is granular - great stuff although I'm content to achieve experiential understanding through sadhana. The universe only understands energy and vibration. what you say, look like, do for a living or sexuality mean NOTHING. The true language of the universe is energy vibration. So therefore all that happens to you is a reflection of what you project out into the world. Example: You will not experience racism if you were not projecting out some level of racism thru your frequency, same with violence, money, career, love, romance etc.... ALL IS YOUR OWN DOING.

Check you energy and the kids behaviours will too. This is also the reason why kids and domestic animals become ill and sick....it is the energy in the house often from the primary source. Vedic Varna classification is applicable to any society - Priests, Military, Business and Agriculturists, and Artisans/laborer where nobody is above or below, and. should not be confused with the European caste stratification to conquer and destroy natives in all continents.
The divisive European caste and casteism were introduced to divide, startify, constitutionalize, and destroy HinduPagans and Africans in both continents of India and Africa by the European racist fascist colonoizers. This caste has been a powerful and persistent trope, even though many specialists, such as the veteran sociologist Joseph Elder, have listed seven errors in the popular Western understanding of caste. One of these was that ‘Castes are uniquely Hindu’. He wrote that in India, ‘castes exist among Christians, Jains, Sikhs, Buddhists, and Muslims.’ Frequently the rules about marrying within one’s caste and avoiding interactions with other castes are as strict among Christians, Muslims, etc. Elder also puts his finger on a key element of its durability. This was that the British colonial imperial racist regime deployed it in its legal and political system.
The American anthropologist Morton Klass pointed out that the Portuguese and Spanish were themselves just evolving a system of ethnic and social stratification by biological ancestry; it was for this reason that they immediately assumed that Indian jāti endogamous groups were aimed at maintaining ‘purity of blood’.

    • @vik24oct1991
      @vik24oct1991 ปีที่แล้ว +1

most of the idol worshipping is done by so called lower castes themselves, ironically the vedic gods didn't have idols, it was included by other folk religions which were later integrated into mainstream religion, and buddhism was actually the reason for idol worship as it integrated these religions into mainstream while vedic religion was very exclusive type of religion, hence to integrate people the vedic religion died and now we have hinduism which is combination of many religions including folk religions and their gods and their idol worshipping, but its better than having one homogenous religion by force which is what islam did, the diversity in hinduism is due to it allowing people to choose their own gods and idol worshipping otherwise we would be like christianity and islam who are even worse.

Brahman, the Self, illumines the racist and the just equally. However, there was not racism in Traditional India, but segregation and discrimination in terms of religious purity determined by social class as revealed by scripture. Yet, I wonder if varna (caste) which means color, it meant, underneath, skin color?

Hi Oscar, I'm an Indian Hindu and thought I could bring some input here. Firstly, "Traditional India" is not one uniform time period. We have the Vedas written somewhere around ~1500 BCE, according to modern historians(this date will always be disputed as orthodox Hindus believe the Vedas to have been written down by sages from Brahman much earlier). Nowhere do the Vedas mention birth-based varna and segregation on its basis, other than the Purusha Sukta where it is still unclear if the castes are birth-based or acquired identities by people.
Much later (think a few centuries before the Buddha) we had the beginning of proper birth-based castes. There was little discrimination during this period. Unfortunately, discrimination grew in time, with Manusmriti being written somewhere around ~300BCE.
We can't call it racism because there are no different races. The Indian race, itself a mixture of the Aryan and Dravidian races, is divided into different occupational clans called castes. The Vedic age did not have hierarchy in these castes, later hierarchy and discrimination emerged.

Do not deny karma or reincarnation. Do not mingle the castes it is to cause hell and imbalance, we will all suffer this sin. Just as Arjun had to do his duty but need not mourn, we too need to do our duties and not mourn the castes.

Thank you so much for all your presentations and explanations. Here some small correction is required, Chandala means not out caste or non-Indians, it means that those who born in illiset sexual relationship. There is a other names who born in different intercaste couples. Please look into this.

@Lion Of Aryavarta Yes if you look at Yaksha Prashna in Mahabharatha ,Yaksha asks Yudhistara as to what makes one a bramhin and Yudhisthara says it is not the birth but the character and learning that makes one a bramhin.

Im not sure if you're asking a question or giving a comment with the last reply but regardless i have only opinion to offer. Within multi-dimensionality there is one, and infinity and all that lies in between. Multi-dimensionality maybe illusory compared to the true self, but regardless, i believe the self expresses its oneness in a muiltitude of ways. All is all....

    • @peaveystacks4649

Even infinite amounts of expression still fall under "one". Not two.
Could you imagine what the world would be like if everybody thought the same? It'd be pretty stale in my eyes. I think there's a blessing in the multitude of views in the world, although they do seem to bring ignorance and suffering, they also bring awareness and love and i think the pattern always moves towards the latter.
