- Car came in with low A/C refrigerant and complaining of sluggish acceleration at times. Found compressor clutch engaged with A/C controls set to off. Disconnected compressor coil and found clutch still engaged. Removed belt and inspected. Relief valve is blown. clutch is seized to pulley.
I may not be a smart man, but I believe you may be right on this one 😂
Oh she'll come loose mate whack it with a rubber mallet she'll disengage no problem lol
I love the energy
They forgot the washer spacer on the clutch
If its a shop they wont try to fix it they would get you a new one. More convenient and saves them time and mire cars done for the day.
You must've forgot the spacers. Most packages come with a few different widths.
You didn't mention whether or not you had the ignition switch on because if you do it will energize the coil and pull the clutch in oh, well let me rephrase that on some make and model vehicles you can have the ignition switch in the Run position and engage and disengage the clutch without it running
mine is fucked up too.
Hahaha I needed that
Put one warsher for the space between clutch and pully they shouldn't be stic each other
Why does the outside move independent of the inner side
The ac compressor isn't supposed to run all the time. When your ac compressor doesn't need to run the clutch in the middle disengages allowing the the pully to spin freely without turning the compressor. When your compressor clutch engages it locks down onto the pully and allows the belt to turn the compressor. The middle part is attached to the inside of the compressor. So if you have a compressor outside of the vehicle and you turn the inside you will be turning the actual compressor
You're right its fucked up!
That part is sold in auto parts stores.
When forrest gump is also your mechanic….
It looks new. Who fud it up?
Just a tip.dont buy reman compressors and always change expansion valve bc it will blow colder and it's an extra way to make money.
What about a compressor without a clutch?
Does anyone know how I can remove a ripped belt that’s wrapped around an air conditioner compressor pulley ? Any help will do
A knife?
It’s just missing the shim.
What does it mean if my low pressure side is 30 psi and high pressure side is 25 psi and my clutch not engaging?
Low pressure. Possible leak?
@@TEVIDEOS ahh would make sense my truck sat for while before I bought it. Do i have to evacuate the entire system then fill it up to find the leak or can i just add some leak dye or whatever?
Hmmmm yaaaaa
What did you done did to fix it?
There are specific spacer shims made for ac compressor. They typically give you a bunch because you have to find out how many you need in order for it to work
When the clutch gets burned up does the system get contaminated ? I want to know the likelihood of needing to replace other parts like condenser , dessicant bag . drier ? I've got a 15 Ford Fusion 2.5 L . Clutch looks bad the clutch material is coming out the front
Clutch mechanism is independent from the internals. If your compressor seized up then yes the system would need to be cleaned and receiver dryer/ condenser replaced
@@TEVIDEOS you think it seized up ? That’s the only explanation to burned up clutch ?
😂 my 96 caprice has the same issue… but instead it will seize up only when in idle. When going 5 mph and up I’m good. But it’s sooo annoying being at a light and that mf gets to squealing it’s so embarrassing. How did you fix the problem?
Same issue I’m having except it’s with my roadie
Man bro I ripped that mf out and put a bypass on it!😂@@Anthony0899
