Just visited the kick-started and it's such a BEAUTIFUL deck, my only criticism is that the head of the knight of swords looks kinda off, he has a weird figure/position, he looks twisted.

I'm only 4 minutes in and I'm in love. The booklet is genius. The pull out is wonderful too. I've only seen the Fool card and my curiosity is piqued. I love that it's photo collage. How exciting to have a new Thoth inspired deck available. Thank you for sharing it with us.

Outstandingly beautiful, really looking forward to having this deck. Love all the information she has provided in the booklet. The artwork is an amazing inspiration of the original Thoth images with a breath of fresh air. I agree some cards need to be lightened up. The linen paper looks great and should not be any thicker based on the size of the cards. Bravo Masha!

Thank you Barbara! For now the majority, who did not want keywords on cards, won. Maybe in the future I will do another version with keywords😊
I was thinking more the Golden Dawn card titles, i.e. “Sorrow”, along with the planetary and zodiacal glyphs that are associated with the 36 decans. It is then more similar to the original Thoth minors - and can be a helpful learning tool for those who want to learn the Thoth, but don’t connect with the original deck. A modern Thoth should still have the “bones” of the original. Could you offer a choice? Did you just survey experienced Thoth readers? I just love the deck so much, but that might dissuade me from purchasing. Thanks for responding. ☺️💕

@@barbarasharp9432 Yeah, I know what you mean. Unfortunately now I won’t be able to include it as an option because the production would cost too much, but I can assure you that the booklet offers a synthesis of Thoth system, perfect for beginners. 🤗
This is a such a beautiful deck, that Moon card is so mysterious and almost feels tempting. I appreciate the diversity represented within the deck. I will definitely back this project.

The booklet is amazing, i would buy it without the cards! For me though They do not say anything to me that the Freida Harris deck does not. Reminds me in a way of Liber T in reverse , with that the majors are simplified but the minors are expanded upon very imaginatively. With this though the minors are coming across as clones whilst the majors, although the artwork is inspired it is somewhat reductive of the original intent.
I hear you. Hard to beat the original :) Still pretty cool there are attempts and I like having some more Thoth versions compared to the abundance of RWS clones etc. I have to say I love the minors more than the majors :) She just brought them to live for me! Also courts...not all but many :)
@@tarotmap can't argue with that! It always comes down to what inspires you. My criticism is not intended to be a criticism as such, I for one always welcome a new view of the Thoth. X

For me the Thoth Tarot is the most beautiful deck of all time, so I am really picky with my other Thoth based decks. I think she did a really good job here. ❤️

Beautiful deck! I've loved my Crowley deck since 1988. This is a really lovely version with the more saturated colors and the guide book is AWESOME. Loads of great information. I am really glad it is a prototype because I have put a pause on my deck purchasing (1 year). Currently awaiting Cilla Conway's SVT and Devas and that's it for a while. My collection is complete, until this deck comes out. @Shelby Givens- I think you're right about the MP and Crowley/Harris lovechild. I'd extend that to the whole deck. Really lovely.

6:52 The Princess of Discs also doesn't have any Minor Arcana on the page.
I think because the Minor Arcana relate to the Astrological Degrees of the Court cards, and the Princesses don't have any degree associations, just whole signs. If anything the Aces would be their associated minors.
I am already in love with this deck. We need more iterations of Thoth on the market!!! Can't wait for this to come out!

I am in love. I love that it is still traditional Thoth decl but with such a refreshing modern take. I am defintly going buy it and support my fellow ex yougolsavianl :-) I am very happy to see the correspondences I use witg Princes and knights, diiferent esoteric schools put different correspondences. I agree with every critique and comment. The minors are stunning. 9 and 10 of pentacles and the cups -wow. It's like margaret peterson and crowleys lovechild. Hope it comes in a turqupise flip top magnetic box and the backs stay the same. I have never been so excited for a deck of cards

Thanks for sharing this deck! It looks amazing! I’ve always been drawn to Thoth and studied it a couple years ago. I’m curious how you work with it and if you subscribe to the ideas/framework behind the deck? While I love the deck, I’ve noticed not wanting to work with it lately due to my own departure from the Golden Dawn and it’s magical offshoots (this goes for the RWS too). Maybe I’m letting the underlying assumptions and teachings of the deck get in the way of how amazing it is and what the images have to offer on their own. I’m curious how you think about this and how it influences the way you work with Thoth. I realize this might be the top of an entire video vs. something you want to respond to in the comments. I welcome other people’s povs too.
I actually mostly love the astrology part in Thoth as I work as an astrologer and use astrology in most of my tarot readings anyway :) I think Thoth and RSW can be both used on so many levels. I know people who just use the keywords in Thoth and are happy hahaha I guess you do you :)

I'm so excited about this one!! It makes Thoth more approachable for a lot of people while still retaining the spirit, essence and wisdom of the original. The booklet is absolute genius. Amazing for beginners and seasoned readers alike, the detail included here is mind blowing. I agree with your suggestions re: the box and book, and also lightening the artwork as it's a bit dark at the moment. But for a prototype this is very well done already. I love the size and the card stock (the size reminds me of Tarot Avatara, which also has linen card stock though a bit thicker than this one appears to be). Very smart of Masa to share the prototype with the tarot community because the feedback is likely very helpful and will ensure she'll put out the best possible quality product. Clearly so much work has been put into this one. I honestly think it can become a pretty influential deck in making Thoth more approachable and attractive to a lot of people. I'll be shocked if a big publishing house doesn't offer to publish a version of it. I can't wait to back this deck!!!

I appreciate the artistry of the Thoth deck, but I was always personally repelled by the artwork and could never read with it. And there are no Thoth clones that I like either.
This deck could be epic. But some of the Majors and Court cards should more resemble the original Thoth images and just have them modernized in their artistic style. The Fool card in this deck is a total turn off. Making these more resembling of the original, but modernized could easily surpass the original Thoth deck in beauty. The minors in this deck are its strong point as they so closely resemble the originals. But the interjection of the racial/ethnic and lgbtq themes totally ruin it for me. This deck, with some changes, could really have potential to surpass the original.
And with that, an additional larger version with no borders, having the font and symbols printed in a bold black at the bottom of the card but on the actual image and not on a border would be incredible.
