    I found the black and white very difficult to watch but overall great informative video.
    You can actually reposition the camera quickly on any other stand if you mount the super clamp to the risers. The thing you get with other stands is a much sturdier stand.

    Thanks so much! This setup is so beautiful in its simplicity. I’ve followed Caleb and I love how he thinks outside the box and make s content that helps all other content creators. My only gripe with his original setup was the parts needed. Amazon (as all other suppliers) has changed so drastically and getting all of the parts at the right price has been a chore (not to mention stock issues). This is simple, integrates well and all from one supplier basically. I love it! Just ordered my stand and spigots and got a great price for Black Friday! Keep up the excellent work!

    Enjoyed this video and the simplicity of the set up.I am looking for a solution and have consumed countless hours looking at YT videos.Yours was the best solution so far.I have 2 questions and hope you can help. I would like to also add and over head camera for topdown shots ( ie overhead camera mount) & as well have the ability to see my self on a monitor or iPad.Can this be done with the set up you demonstrated? Any thoughts or advice?

    • @NathanElson
      @NathanElson  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      You could add another sliding grip and the cheap ball head (bit.ly/3xxUQkb) and that would give you a top down (I might steal that idea) and as far as adding a monitor, the grip arms have 1/4" screw mounts on the fronts and backs of them, so adding a monitor is easy.

    Hi Nathan, good connecting with you again from the days you were doing collabs with Jordan and Chris! Good on you for still rockin' the B&W! Gotta say, after having watched a gazzillian youtube-studio-on-a-stand-videos, this is the bomb solution! Just a quick question: it was hard for me to see in the video, and I don't think you mentioned it directly, but, what are you running your audio into? What would be an elegant way to mount an audio recorder to this rig?

      Hi Edward. Other that the Australian photographer who has a younger female model help him (don't recall his name right now), who has a HUGE, HUGE pneumatic camera stand like this: Calumet Cambo UST Stand 9ft with Cambo Head, Tray, and Geared Arm ($1,800.00 US Dollars USED), I had to come up with another option. I had not seen this video by Nathan before searching for a DYI option (wish I had), but had accidentally come upon the movable arms and then my mind took over. Went to local hardware shop, got a 7 foot straight metal pipe (1 1/2 inch diameter, I think....would have to confirm) and used the legs from a traditional foldable C-stand (completely flat, not the kind that form a sorta "L" shape when opened), and secured that pipe in the center, used the movable arms from Flashpoint brand (3 actually) and they fit so perfectly. I use two for monitors-Ipad and Fire Tablet to tether wirelessly so I and model/subject can see real-time images as I shoot and review). Wheels already on stand purchased and I attached a few tri-head USB power adapters and some strong powerbanks to give me remote power if not indoors. LOVE this set-up. EXCEPT...very difficult to move around. 7 feet tall in my small Honda Fit?! Yeah, but...now trimmed it down to a mobile version. On taller orig version, I attach a C-Stand boom arm to it at the top and it holds an additional light and would have no problem holding an additional camera for your top-down shooting needs. Just be sure all is snug (arms and camera mounts)..I also have a Super Clamp that I use UNDER any grip arm that I might in the slightest think might move slowly downward that I have NO...NO issues whatsoever with support. Just need to make sure it's balanced properly with softbox, etc. Hope this helps with your options and "Thanks" SOOO much Nathan for this video. Really helpful additional lighting gear I am looking into. Photography purposes only. Cheers from Bay Area, California!!
