    Nick Masters here, just wanted to say thanks to all for the kind words. This was one of my favorite restorations, it was very challenging but it turned out stunning. We should do another video because theres so much more detail that we didn’t talk about.
    I’d like to thank the people that gave their expertise to this project:
    Emo Torres for the flawless bodywork. Wayne Golden for the amazing paint job.
    Dean Wilke for the drivetrain.
    And to the owner Luis for his determination to do the restoration properly. We’ll cya at the next Fabulous Fords show, April 14th 2019!

      Nick, Are you bringing one of the Dr.'s cars out to the show ? Last time I was there he was finishing up a 65 K code fastback I believe ?

    • @socomu
      @socomu 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      MustangConnection1 The 66 fastback has been finished for a year now. We might bring that one, otherwise I’ll bring another 66 GT fastback that’s unrestored. It’s one of my side projects.

      @@socomu Sounds good are you still working with Lou? Are you working on the 1970 SCJ Torino Cobra he bought from us ?

    • @socomu

      Yep, still working with Lou. The Torino is being painted in San Diego right now. Our current project is a 1970 Boss 302 Cougar Eliminator. The project is about 90% complete.

    Wow amazing restoration. Early fastbacks are amongst the greatest Mustangs, specially with the 428 CJ! I always associated these cars with black interiors, don't know why, but since today probably i changed my mind... White it's spectacular! Great car!

    Saw the Lebanon Valley Dragway 1/4 mile slip of 13.43 @ 108.5 mph. Pretty damn good 1/4 mile time for 1968. My stock 99 Cobra ran a best of 13.5 @ 105 mph.

      I know how cool right? Did you see the 1/4 mile time slips from way back in the day? 13.54 for a stock car, cool. Thanks Danielsan

      sadly gone , but it did. I learned the trick to keeping these and most carbed engines alive though, change the oil every 1500 miles if you drive it hard as the cylinders are always getting oil washed off by fuel on at least some of the cylinders, mine ran easily to 150 k miles with near daily high speed running and ran great till I sold it and the next owner said it still flew. sold it in 74 and met by chance the next owner last year and he still misses it also . mine was a 3 speed 4 bbl and a great package for back roads with th e over sized e 60 14 tires I somehow fit on it . a 3 .00 gear and 2 nd was good for 70 and 3rd maybe 120. with a steady 1500 rpm in 3rd got 25 MPG at 40 miles an hour . paid 1100 for it at a ford dealer in 71 with 66 k miles. .

      The Cobra Jet wasn't introduced until the later half of '68 hence 68 CJ cars are a mid model release. It is just a use of nomenclature to describe these cars, clearly there are no half model years technically for any vehicle, just like their aren't 64.5 Mustangs.
