You got a 24 just like mine, and I do not have any problems with the heated hand grips.Rode home from Lubbock Feb 1st and they worked great on level 2 or less. And no, I did not get sat radio free trial either. Seemed strange to me also, o well, Have it on phone from truck and just bluetooth to bike. I have been getting around 42-43 MPG and I ride speed limit all the time :), if not a little more.
3674 miles since April 5th, Fuelly app shows average 41.843 mpg, 47.276 high mpg, and 36.126 low mpg. I ride all conditions, all roads. I live in Kansas, so riding in the wind is an everyday occurance...
Next time you go West Texas take Hwy. 180 out of Weatherford to Snyder or Lamesa. If you get off 180 at Snyder take 350 to Big Springs and pick up I 20 again. If you go to Lamesa take 349 to Midland. This is a beautiful ride with a lot less traffic and a lot nicer scenery.
Another option - as your on 180 West leaving Snyder headed towards Lamesa, take FM669 at Gail into Big Spring. Great road to ride on a motorcycle. Lots of fun.
I had a 2018 HG 6 speeds and also trade it in for a 2024 HG DCT, they gave me a good deal for my 2018 and good deal on the new bike and I’m really happy with the change. As you asked on XM radio, they didn’t mention any free 3 months not even 1, it don’t matter to me. Just loving it so far !
I enjoyed watching your ride home from West Texas. I didn't get 3 months free SiriusXM when I bought my new 2021 DCT Tour but I do subscribe because I enjoy it on my long road trips. Are you going on another long road trip this summer? Come to Colorado and I'll be your guide to some of the tourist traps.
I’m getting 46mpg on my Goldwing. Thats going from Fort Worth to Dallas almost everyday to work. Thats locking cruise control in at 70. 70 mph seems to be the sweet spot for good mpg in the highway and I also keep it on eco
Thank you, Windsurfer. Your comments are very timely! My Road King is perfect and only has 7000+ miles. It’s a 2022 and now has Rhinelander pipes and a Saddlemen Road Sofa seat. My conundrum is that it runs very hot in the Summer (air cooled) and due to hockey injuries, even with a heel shifter, it can be difficult to manipulate the gears. I was thinking that the DCT could solve that issue. Regardless, your comment was helpful. Lastly, have you had any rusting issues with your Wings? I’ve seen some recent videos about rust issues occurring underneath all the plastic…have you experienced that? Thanks again!
I have a 2024 and no free XM radio. Jackasses didn’t even show me any of the features. The dealer gave me about a gallon of gas and I had to drive about 50 miles and couldn’t even get gas. My first GW and I hadn’t read the manual. I like the bike over all.
Maybe you should have put the name of the dealership in your comments? So other customers would know they won't be getting any "customer service" from them.
Is it worth spending the money for the upgrade only if you have it. I have owned three gold wings now and the difference between each is a step up each time. However, the price differential is staggering my last one 2022 cost me over 31,000 this is definitely not for the faint of heart or wallet.
Mine doesn't come with a Sirius XM trial either. I was disappointed but probably wouldn't have kept it after the trial. Sometimes I feel like my heated handgrips are strange too. At times I feel like level three is enough to melt my skin. Other times I can't even feel it unless it's left on five. I think it's more to do with me rather than the bike
I find mpg is tied directly to average speed. If I’m cruising at 60’ish, I average over 50 mpg. At 80, it drops to ~38mpg. Re: XM, I just called Sirius and told them I wanted to activate my free 90 day free trial. It wasn’t an issue to get it, even before I had the title (though I now use Spotify, with downloads for when I have no signal (happens often in rural NV)). [2023 DCT Tour]
Well Cruiseman, I was dismayed to hear about your pay-per-view format as i like to see all your videos, hope I don't miss anything important cause of it....Javi G.
Like others have said here... 5 on the hand grips could jump start the sun... 2 - 3 is ideal. Let's test them together. Thank you for the shout out.. I simply changed my existing channel's name to RobertWhiteMoto... the photography channel is new and took the name Robert White Photography from my existing. :) @robertwhitemoto @robertwhite-photography
If I remember right, on my 2012 Goldwing, the seat and the grips reacted to the ambient temperature and would not get as hot when the temperature was in the 60’s as they did when in the 30’s. I haven’t ridden my ‘23 in cold enough temperatures to test.
I have a 22 wing and did not get xm radio free. I asked about it, they said no. I’m in Canada. I did subscribe because our local station cut out 45 minute from home. They are a pain in the ass to cancel for our winter months.
I bought my 2023 back in December - no Sirus trial subscription, just a phone number to call and subscribe. My heated grips do work nicely though. If you'd like to compare grip temperatures, I can meet you guys for breakfast one of these Sundays.
Looks like you have the Axxion camera mount installed on your 2024; probably from your 2018. I assume that is still one of the original 12 Max made. Any word when the gen 2 (redesign so left mirror won't hit it when folded back) will be available?
With my 19 Tour DCT I always got mid 40s MPG. The heated grips and seat never really got very warm - grips on 5 were mild at best - didn’t feel anything like the heated grips set to only 2 on my HDs - they were HOT. I DID get a trial period with Sirius on the 19 - it was either 3 or 6 months. Didn’t have to wait for the title - it was the day I brought the bike home. Same with any car I’ve owned with Sirius as recently as a ‘22. Also, every once in a while after servicing the trucks, I will get a free 3 months. The radio is good but I no longer subscribe because their off shore customer service absolutely sucks.
Your grip heating is malfunctioning. The '5' setting on all of my GW's would burn my palms as I rode with gloves. Again on all of my GW's pre/2018 my fuel mileage for thousands of miles was 42 MPG. On my '21 GW tour DCT and '23 GW tour DCT the overall mileage for thousands of miles is 45-47. I have NEVER had 35 or even close! The new generation also greatly increases my mileage if I am riding in a reduced speed area of national/state parks or national monuments for longer distances my mileage has been as high as 57. I start with a full tank and top off my tank when I stop for fuel during my ride. I use a calculator and the miles I have just ridden. (I do not use the bikes totalizer/averaging numbers as they are a momentary snapshot only.) Good Rides
Chris. Isn't there a back road route you could enjoy rather than the interstate? Would 180 be a more enjoyable route? When I was stationed at Fort Bliss (El Paso) to Orlando and Return via I10. Crazy long ride HOT, Windy, and dry. I wish I had taken backroads but it was in 1976 on a new CB750 and if course no smart phone or GPS. 👍🏼😎
The 360 camera is sensitive to what your memory card is rated at as far as how fast it is. There is a list of recommended memory cards for the camera that are proven to work, I forget where I found it, but I imagine the Insta360 website would have it, straight from the horse's mouth.
I own a 2018 Non tour and deal with the bike drifting to the right instead if tracking straight ahead, if I let the bars go. I was wondering if your new 24 GW still has that issue?
Ill check him out. I know he made a plate that attaches to the bike as a counter balance. I was just wondering if Honda had addressed it with the newer models. Thanks!
Never seen a train with containers stacked that way. It did look boring , but still I like the Interstate . Not my preference, but you cover alot of miles. Ride safe . That's great you like to visit your brother . Just saw my older sister recently . I was going to ride to Vermont to visit my sister.,but I realized we don't get along very well. At least what I consider well. I think she has Karen tendencies or something weird. She doesn't even know I ride bikes. So best for me to part ways and quit pretending everything's hunky dory .
On my 23 GW trike I maybe pulled a fast one with Sirius. On their website, I found where as a new subscriber you could get three months free by signing up with your email address. I already have an account with them and didn’t want the free trial with that because of what you went through in trying to cancel. I used Apples (I have an IPhone) hide my email address. That shows them a completely made up email address but it routes it through to your real email address. They thought I was a new subscriber and gave me three months free with no credit card. When my time is up it quits, period. They can try to hound me into subscribing, but I can just block that email address that apple created and never have to mess with them. I’m finding, like in my other vehicles, that I do enjoy having it on the bike, so I may add it to my regular account when my “free” trial is up. I only sign up for their cheapest deal anyway and go year to year with them. Ends up costing about $7.50 a radio ID that way.
At 5, I think I can use my grips and/or seat to heat up my lunch. I'm usually happy at 2 on grips and seat.
Hey, there! The video started off driving past my hometown of Big Spring, Tx. Nice.
Salute!
Very cool!

Hi Chris-regarding fuel mileage...I find that when the RPMs/cruise speed get to 75 MPH+, the fuel economy heads south.
3674 miles since April 5th, Fuelly app shows average 41.843 mpg, 47.276 high mpg, and 36.126 low mpg. I ride all conditions, all roads. I live in Kansas, so riding in the wind is an everyday occurance...

Wow… I have to say when I bought my’19 the dealer went through a lot with me except the navigation. I left there though with a full tank.
I purchased my 2024 manual last week and calls SXM to sign up for the satellite service. Did get 90 day trial.

Good executive decision! All your content has useful perspectives and relevant.
I like looking at the scenery on your rides to Midland and back. I suppose you could have a pretty long monolog if you talked all the way!
My 2018 Heated grips are allmost unuseable on level 5, level 3 is more than enough heat.
If I remember right, on my 2012 Goldwing, the seat and the grips reacted to the ambient temperature and would not get as hot when the temperature was in the 60’s as they did when in the 30’s. I haven’t ridden my ‘23 in cold enough temperatures to test.
Correct. I have a 12 GW and asked Service why the seat heater wasn't working - it was because it simply wasn't cold enough! :)
He didn’t have that issue with his last Wing… ?
I believe that is the axxion mount from Traxxion Dynamics
Thanks for the info bud… I’ll have a look👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
No problem. I really do not want to steal Cruiseman's thunder. He was instrumental in the design of that camera mount. Very cool!
I will check my grips and see if I have the same issue.
Hey Garage Man, I bought a New 2023 Goldwing tour dct back in March of this year and I did not receive any free trial from Sirius XM either.
I have a 22 wing and did not get xm radio free. I asked about it, they said no. I’m in Canada. I did subscribe because our local station cut out 45 minute from home. They are a pain in the ass to cancel for our winter months.

Have not heard when v2 will arrive
Is that an aftermarket windscreen ? It looks shorter & narrower than factory. You should put your 2018 next to the 2024 & do a comparison of both.
Hi, can I ask how you are mounting your camera pole to the bike please? It looks like it’s clamped to the mirror frame🤷🏻♂️
Axxion mount from Traxxion.com

Looking forward to your full review Chris 👍🏻
I just bought my 2024 tour dct I also had to pay for my xm radio
Please what type of microphone you use with the camera

I did not get free satellite radio with my 2024 Goldwing. Did you keep your Ultimate Seat from your 2018? Love your videos.
For some reason I always get better mileage when I don’t use cruise control.
i bought a new 2021 i didn`t get xm have not used grips or seat yet
Great videos. Do you plan on coming back to Wisconsin again ? (rice lake wis)

I have not noticed it drifting, but I saw Max McAllister address this issue recently on one of his TH-cam videos.
Ill check him out. I know he made a plate that attaches to the bike as a counter balance. I was just wondering if Honda had addressed it with the newer models. Thanks!
Good video. You take the most boring trips though. If you’re on a time crunch I understand.
Why does anyone want the automatic transmission? Half the fun of riding a bike is going through the gears
Been considering the GW How many miles in a day have u been able to ride. My Harley beats me up about 200 miles I'm 75
I just did 922 miles on my Harley in 14 hrs in 95f and I'm 70, I ride a road glide special but changing to a wing in the fall
Did not get free trial on my 2023 I just stream from my phone
Same
So to be specific, this is the dealer I bought my 2024 Honda Gold Wing from.
National Powersports

Also my grips when heated are so hot when on #5 that I can't stand it. Something is wrong with your grips

Not yet

Sorry Cruiseman...this is your show.
