Get Pictures Off an SD CARD Even if the LOCK is BROKEN

This video looks at how to temporarily mimic a lock on a broken SD card. Specifically, this simple trick can help you get your media off of a broken SD card when the SD card LOCK is broken or missing. Get your pictures and videos off of the SD card safely using this temporary fix. Then, I recommend getting a new SD card!!

You won't be able to delete the photos from the card unless you COVER THE ENTIRE LOCK AREA (I figured that out after making this video!!), but you will at least be able to copy them off of the broken SD card and onto a better place for safe keeping.
Don't leave the SD Card (with tape on it) in your device for very long at a time. The tape warms up and falls off. You don't want it to fall off while it is inside the device and get stuck. Take breaks if you need to by ejecting the SD Card to let the tape cool, then try again, until all of your media is off of the card safely.

I prefer to have multiple SD cards in rotation at a time. My pictures and videos are divided up among the SD cards. Then if one breaks and cannot be fixed, I don't loose everything at once.
