Where there is determination - great things can happen. I grieve for those able bodied among us whose spirit has been crushed who suffer inexplicable mental health issues or substance abuse problems. I wish they could be inspired by this courageous woman.

What happens if you don't know what you need? As a person with disabilities this is the hardest thing I will ever have to know. I don't know what my options are and definitely they don't want you don't know this! Unfortunately everybody that I have coached with seems to want to put me in the same old jobs that I used to do and I don't want that anymore! I don't know when to ask for help and when to stay silent! I don't want to seem overbearing but I don't want to live in constant pain even more so than what I started with! Is someone that suffers through every day pain I know I'm going to have to live like this the rest of my life. But when I go to work I don't expect to triple the amount of pain I'm having or the amount of anxiety. Especially when you do tell them that you can't do this for this amount of time but they overlook you. And most jobs nowaday are understaffed and then you're overworked. This sounds like an amazing opportunity for people but what are resources?! She states that we would have to explain what we need help with most of us don't know. A lot of us don't know what's out there for handicapped people in our situation. Yeah we're allowed to ask for reasonable accommodations. What exactly is there for our situational none of our doctors tell us what kind of things are out there for us anymore.

The "Not knowing your options" bit is always a problem. I spent 20 years working as a mobile PC technician, but despite having an understanding boss, my worsening mobility issues (Along with a couple of other degenerative medical problems) put me in a position where I was off sick almost as much as I was at work, and with very little prior warning for my boss to make alternative arrangements, he was getting increasing pressure from above to "Solve" the problem. Knowing that the end was getting really close for me there, I eventually chose to jump, rather than wait for them to find something totally unrelated to blow out of proportion to use as grounds for dismissal.
Since then (Nearly 3 years ago) I've been trying to work out SOMETHING that I could do for my remaining 20ish years before retirement, but I keep drawing a blank. There's a few places that can offer advice and options if you have a SINGLE disability, but it get's difficult for them when you've got a few conditions that all overlap and interact.
I have the occasional good day, but most days I have mobility issues and lower body pain, a lot of days I have inner ear problems (Day long bouts of severe dizziness), and some days it's another problem, but usually it's a combo of two or all of them. Some job I may be able to sit and do OK with the mobility issues may be completely impossible when a bout of vomit inducing dizziness joins the party.
I'm sure there's SOME niche job out there that I could do, but so far, none of the agencies, charities, or personal web searches have been able to work out what it is, and that's got to be because it's not something that's on most peoples radar. As a traditional guy, I'm not even holding out for a "Fulfilling and enjoyable" job, and discounting unpleasant jobs (More unpleasant usually denotes more money), I'm not holding out for any particular job, just a job that I could do, that isn't going to exacerbate my conditions too quick, that I can do competently enough that I don't have to worry about my conditions painting a target on my back, and something I can use to get my life back on track, but a possible career direction has stumping everyone (Including ChatGPT....... Yeah I've even interrogated an AI to see if it could come up with something we've all missed. :D).

Hi for half of you commenting in the comments you need to help yourselves and make a profile on the website. If you can’t do this it’s a MAJOR problem on both ends. Either finding and adapting the website to be disabled friendly with multiple users needs or the person with a disability doesn’t have the ability to use or navigate the internet properly.

It's not ok that this important issue had but one unrelated commercially oriented comment.
    Sad really
As a person with physical challenges, it's no surprise.
Predjudice, unkindness and ignorance about this segment of humanity is very obvious offline and on.
    We are essentially invisible.
    For a hermit, I don't mind.
As Tom Waits said; " just kind of selfish about my privacy"
(Off Nighthawks at the Diner album)
However, it's absolutely not right that our rights are not respected.💯🤬🤔😳
