The fish market building shown about 1: 41 was knocked down in the late sixties, my father was a bricky and I joined him one weekend as he was clearing out old brickwork. There was lots of copper wiring and copper nails in the woodwork, with permission I stripped a lot out and made myself some money. I can still remember the overriding smell of fish in everything you touched mixed with a dirty black smokey smell. soon after the remains quickly disappeared.
