Had to be a honest but dumb mistake… why would a broadcaster working that job for so long say something insensitive like that? Alot of ppl be overreacting to dumb stuff like this… broadcaster needs to do better tho
I don’t think this was an honest mistake. KPJ wasn’t a rookie at the time so this wasn’t the announcer’s first time calling a game that he played in against the Wizards. KPJ has been in the league since 2019. He may have thought his dad was the guy who played for Washington at one point but announcers do research and take notes before games so he had to do the research to find out who his dad was prior to calling that game. He should’ve been suspended if not terminated.
