Fond memories of this site when i was a kid. My parents used to be owners on the site for 6years in the 90s its nice to see how much its changed over the last 30 years its unrecognisable now to what it used to look like. I remember the old arcade and the old concert room witch is now the arcade room. I looked on a new map the other day and i cant find the old road where my caravan was. I think they have changed all the road names. Nice to see that they have invested in the place as things where starting to get a bit delapadated and falling down. Its a shame that they have got rid of the golf course witch was on the left as you came down a long drive. I thing they have built on it now and they also had a bowls green on the front of the old club house along with a full size football pitch and sports field.
Have fond memories riding bikes around here with all my mates as kids. Stop off at a mate’s caravan to play some PlayStation then hit the arcade while our parents sat at the bar, we’d take turns going in to beg our parents for 5 pounds to blow on the games... Planning how we would ask our parents if we could all have a sleepover at the friend with the PlayStation, lol. Haven’t seen Greenacres since I moved to South Africa in 2007. This place was a real highlight of my childhood.
Wow that's some nice memories my friend. I can relate to asking parents for a few quid to blow in the arcade. As a kid Greenacres was where I had one of my earliest experiences with a female, so it holds fond memories for me :) How does life in South Africa compare to the UK?
Sophie haig We love being in the vans by the beach too! Hope you continue to enjoy this caravan site for many years to come. Travel safe my friend 😎👍❤️
I have booked one carvan for next week and we are 8 friends and seems right place for us. We wana have some barbecue and heard a swimming pool available az well.
Sorry I did not get back to you before your holiday. Did you have a great time? Greenacres site definitely had all the facilities you needed. What did you think of the site mate? Tell me about your holiday if you don’t mind?
@@Places2GoTravel as we were 8 friends so was a best place to stay in because all in one caravan having a laugh. Beech was close so whenever we wana walk there was ideal. The only downside was a Pool there were no bookings or free float space. Felt like that few extra quids were just waisted. They need a bigger pool or many pools as its a hundreds of caravan there and pool for like 50 people and mainly for kids.
Can't wait till the 16th of October first time I get a chance to have my first holiday at haven with my 2 sons we have never had holiday together so this will be making memories as my eldest son is 36 years old and my youngest son is 28years old
I visited this year for first time since 2005. Anyone know when the old funworks and showbar names were gotten rid of? Or when they refurbed the funworks and got rid of half of it to make the restaurant twice the size? Feel like it’s all a bit on the small size now. I remember in the early nighties the funworks arcade took up almost the entire entertainment complex but now it’s tiny and the restaurant using up most of the old space where so many classic arcade games used to be. Would love to know when it all changed?
Oh mate when I first visited in the early nineties the layout was exactly as you described and there was a big crown green bowling green out of the back of the bar within the entertainment complex. The arcade was first rate, as were many of the arcades on Haven site in the 90s. All Haven sites get a “refresh” every so often. The layouts are now designed to extract as much money from customers as possible. They even employ specialists in the design phase to ensure maximum revenue is built in by design. Sadly, this seems to mean an arcade that’s not so good, with games you don’t want to play and prizes you don’t want to win. Peace out brother, enjoy your next holiday and let me know where you think the best arcades are, Haven sites or not as the case may be 😎👍❤️
Vikki Lewis Wow that’s amazing! Did the video show you all looking your best? It’s awesome to hear from someone in our vids...and you’re the first 😎👍❤️
We tried to stay at least once a year it is a beautiful park and we have many a good time there. Have a great time next time you visit take care and travel safe :)
courtney Scott Pretty much as per the video, usual kind of Haven facilities presented in a very clean, well designed way. Nice chip shop off site and nearby, beautiful beach behind the site and glorious mountain views looking inland. Have a great time my friend, let us know what you think of the place when you get back 😎👍❤️
Yes beach access directly from the site. Cars are allowed on the beach so if mobility is an issue for anyone in your party it is also possible to drive right on to the beach.
Interesting question. It would appear that as there's been no response that the answer is no. In a way I would like to see it completely empty, it would be peaceful but also quite eerie :)
