    My first child had Potters Syndrome and was making my wife sick. There was a chance both the mother and child would have died, if pregnancy continued in this case, and a 100% chance the child would not survive. Potters Syndrome means the child doesn't develop proper digestive organs or other organs not properly developing. In our case, our child didn’t develop a bladder and one kidney. There is no fix and no chance of transplant. The connective tissue and pathways aren't there, and there's nothing anyone can do. It was an extremely sad and difficult time in our lives. Given the extremely rare chance the child developed to full term, missing crucial organs and not killing the mother, we'd be gifted with a child in excruciating pain, crying non-stop for around 4 hours, then dying in our arms. These are the types of scenarios that terrify me. How sick does the mother have to get, with a child that won't survive 24 hours, before a doctor isnt scared to do what's right? Does the mother's heart have to stop beating? Does she have to carry the child for months in sadness, pain, and fear before a judge determines it's ok to end the suffering? What has this country come to, to get to this point. We live in a sad in between dystopia that should never have been allowed to occur. These religious right-wing nutjobs need to do the right thing and keep their fairytales, that help them sleep at night, out of our government and laws. This is 100% a back pedaling of humanity and it's truly terrifying.

      They are lying when they say abortion goes against their religion. You know the punishment for inducing a miscarriage? A fine. Yes. A man hurting a pregnant woman to the point where she miscarries is a fine. Nothing else in any scripture mentions anything closer to abortion than that, otherwise, they're grasping at straws with the "all life is precious" BS

    Kenyan here. The president is a person accused of crimes against humanity by the ICC. The prosecution dropped his charges because all the witnesses against his case were disappearing and being found dead. The current prosecutor Karim Khan was his defense lawyer back then.
    He has had multiple cases of grabbing public and private land. The most egregious was when he tried to grab land meant for an elementary school. When those small kids protested, they sent the police and they tear gassed some 10 year olds. All that was when he was the vice president.
    When he won the presidency, he removed subsidies and sharply increased taxes every chance he got. The reason for such tax measures is not for debt repayment as he claims(cause he has added to that by so much in 2 years). He, like all other african leaders, wanted to get his hands on foreign aid or loans so that he could enrich himself and his cronies. The problem he had was that the money from China, which came with zero strings, had dried up, and he looked to the IMF and the west. Unlike China, these western entities impose many restrictions for qualifications for such loans or grants, many to do with the removal of subsidies and raising more money to show an ability to pay back.
    So that is how a war criminal is trying to saddle a whole nation with a large financial burden, all because of his greed.
    I nearly forgot, the USA paid him $ 80 million to send police to Haiti, a country we have had no diplomatic ties with since both countries were formed. No one in Kenya likes him, and the protest has moved from the finance bill to demanding that he resign.
    On Thursday, the young people in Kenya will be moving to occupy the state house after successfully breaching parliament today(never done in history). Wish us luck.

    Kenyan here. One of the worst governments ever only 2 years in. Beyond the tax hikes he is proposing, the actions of his government have been beyond tone-deaf.
    The amount of money being allocated to different government officials for frivolous things like office and house renovations, undisclosed discretionary spending and pointless travel is being increased almost 100% in some cases from the last budget.
    They have repeated the phrase "we need to tighten our belts" while literally wearing designer belts themselves and $30,000 watches. He recently took an expensive private jet to the States with a contingent of his political friends to borrow money from Biden and pal around with Steve Harvey and other celebrities.
    My payslip is deducted almost in half now with more taxes on the way while the politicians enjoy luxury. Gen Z led the charge on these protests and millennials and boomers are very proud of them. We will keep pushing back, the whole country is united in this which hasn't happened since 2002.

    I have unfortunately known two women who have had babies with Trisomy 18 (Edward’s Syndrome) at the 19/20 week morphology scan. Unlike Trisomy 21 (Down Syndrome), it is almost always incompatible with life. Both women made incredibly brave and difficult choices. One decided to terminate, while their other had just started feeling her son move and chose to carry the pregnancy.
    I cannot fathom how it would feel to go through what she went through without it being her choice. It was a massive emotional burden (luckily we’re in Australia, so medical debt wasn’t an issue). It meant more frequent medical appointments including genetic counseling and constant monitoring while essentially waiting for her baby to die. At the same time, she had to prepare for the incredibly rare case that he could survive the pregnancy and birth. Those babies have a short, difficult, painful life filled with feeding tubes and discomfort.
    In the end, he died in utero at 30 weeks. The hospital couldn’t induce her until the Monday, so she spent the weekend with her dead boy inside her. When she was induced, as kind as the staff were in trying to keep her away from everyone, she still had to go to labour and delivery. She still had to see happy pregnant people. She still had to hear newborn cries while she was waiting to give birth to her beautiful boy. She cradled his urn while sleeping for years. He would have turned 11 in April and I know it still hurts her. Part of it is harder because of those 10 extra weeks she got to bond with him in utero.
    Nobody should ever have to go through that without the knowledge that they had a say in that decision. 💔

    • @LKMNOP
      @LKMNOP 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Not all, of course but the majority of the people making these horrible decisions are men. They don't know what it's like to carry a child. They don't understand that bond that you do get when you carry a child. Considering it is known that women truly grieve if they have a miscarriage after one month or even less. And to make someone carry a child who's going to die and then make her carry it when it's dead is beyond any words I can even come up with. And then I'll bet that their system won't even pay for the therapy she needs for being forced to go through that. Please give her my love and my thoughts.

    I have watched a LOT of your videos with my wife, but have never commented before. Tonight you talked about something I NEED to comment on. I am 40 years old. My wife and I are both teachers in the same school district. Our district tells us that we have a fully funded pension that will be there when we retire (our district is legally required to report out our wages and when they do, they include their contributions to our pension as though that is money we have already receive as part of our paycheck). Neither of us expect to ever receive that pension or social security. My retirement plan is to literally die, preferably in the middle of a lesson to my students because my sense of humor is morbid like that. I also work part time at a job (because I’m a teacher and a teacher’s salary doesn’t stretch far enough) where a lot of my coworkers are retirees whose only retirement money is social security and my coworkers are ALWAYS bitching about regulations of working too many hours and losing their social security benefits despite the fact that they are only working because their social security benefits don’t go far enough to cover their living expenses. Additional saving and investing to supplement retirement living? Are you kidding? I’m a teacher with two undergrad degrees, a graduate degree, 16 years of teaching experience, and 18+ years since I’ve only worked one job at a time and I STILL live paycheck to paycheck. On top of all that I have been unbelievably blessed with privileges above and beyond that of most of my peers (money from my family to ensure I never had to have student loans). Who can afford to save money for retirement?

Then the evidence comes out with Midnight Society dropping him due to their own investigation, witnesses corroborating the allegations via the articles, and of course, the man himself admitting that he inappropriately was texting a minor. And even then, it wasn't enough. Now they moved that goal post of "Well did he know the individual was a minor". If he did, he would've mentioned in his statement that once he found out that the person was a minor, he stopped messaging them. But he didn't which is telling. Plain and simple. So I guess good luck to Texas women who will likely have to drive further than usual for prenatal exams because their OB/GYNs have likely fled the state cause of the ban and now the nearest remaining doctors are a 50min+ drive from you. Of course now its only going to get longer because you might have to go through some checkpoint and prove to a cop who doesn't like hearing the word "mucus plug" that the reason you're traveling so far away from home is to get your scheduled prenatal exam. And then the cop might ask, "Don't you have any doctors closer to you where you live?"

    Old people got to retire early because they scammed younger generations. According to the OECD, the US government spends 7.5% of their GDP on public pensions, which amounts to more than 20% of total government expenditure. Social security is similar. After the Great Depression, old scammers decided to create the system to get free money, but the catch is that the very first group of recipients contributed almost no money, but got lifetime payouts. When social security collapses, young people are gonna contribute a lot to the system, but receive nothing. Even right now, we're continuing to scam the youth by adding to the government debt. Debt is now more than 120% of GDP, so at some point we're gonna be paying a huge amount of interest while not being able to borrow any money even if urgently needed. These kinds of policies should be totally unconstitutional because otherwise, there's totally an incentive to borrow an insane amount of money, create laws that say "my kids are forced to pay for my retirement and debts", which is exactly what they've done and we're continuing to do.

    I'm Kenyan🇰🇪 and a protester though in a neighboring county (Kiambu). The events yesterday were a response to 2 years of legislature and judiciary capture by the executive so bad that for the now infamous Finance Bill 2024 MPs were getting paid 2 million Ksh to pass it disregarding and in most cases outright demeaning the will of the people in favor of IMF pushed terms for loans.
    Kenyans are often told that we're in a debt crisis and need to live within our means to justify tax hikes but our leaders starting with the President live in opulence walking around with watches and belts worth millions (MP Sudi has an 18 million Ksh watch). The government keeps taking loans that never reach the populace but instead go into statehouse repairs and purchasing furniture worth 1billion in the last 20 months.
    Also the protests only got violent when peaceful protesters were abducted, hit with teargas canisters, live bullets, and others shot by snipers while unarmed.
    There were millions of youth around the country with 35 out 47 counties having mass protests against the Bill and corruption but my president decided to label us treasonous criminals, treason is punishable by death/life in prison.
    Also at night in a town in Nairobi over 100 people mostly business people on their way home were shot and killed by state officers.
    In the end the youth made history and fulfilled Article 1 of the Constitution which grants sovereign power to the people by Occupying Parliament 🇰🇪.
    Thank you for mentioning it. I just wanted to give some context on what was happening.

    Something that doesn't get mentioned about 401K and IRA is that if you don't have a high enough balance and you stop contributing, you will lose what you put in. The companies that handle them will start charging you maintenance fees, and they take it from these accounts. I got laid off from a job where I'd put money in a 401k. I got a letter saying my balance was too low and that I had to cash out or roll over to an IRA. But the IRA had a maintenance fee of $30 a month unless I contributed a minimum amount each month to reach a certain balance. Since I was unemployed and then my new job was a pay cut, I couldn't add more. So I lost 3/4 of my money and all matched contributions because I cashed out.

      @jimrobinson9979 I want to say it was either Fidelity or Prudential, but it's been 20 years since this happened, so maybe they stopped charging monthly. Or maybe they got rid of their minimum. My current boss had the same thing happen to him, but he never said when. When it happened to me, the minimum was 5k, and I was 500 short. I was only making $9/hr, so 30 a month was more than I could put in.

    • @draken1331
      @draken1331 3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @jimrobinson9979 Also, they didn't mention the fee up front. I only learned about it when they told me I had to roll it over. It was in the fine print. If I didn't roll it over within something like 90 days, they would cash it out automatically. If I rolled it over but didn't put in something like 35 a month minimum, then the fees started.

    • @jimrobinson9979
      @jimrobinson9979 3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @draken1331 So the same company maintaining the 401k was the one with the high fee IRAs? Just for future reference, it's always possible to open an IRA at a low fee or zero fee brokerage and any 401k provider can be told to direct any rollover to that account. The ones that are charging high fees will usually charge a transfer fee, but at least it won't be ongoing.

    The most disturbing part of the Dr. Disrespect situation is that it was kept a secret for 4 years. I always assumed the ban was a latent reaction to him filming inside the bathroom incident. But instead he could have been preying on other minors for 4 full years without anyone knowing he was a pest. Twitch is responsible for helping him try to cover it up for him.

    As an adult who was contacted by adults who acted like Guy acted to this minor, when I was between the ages of 11&16, it does fuck with your head long term.
    For me the text stuff, its easier to deal with than physical stuff that's happened, but it's not easy in the slightest, it's still very difficult and can be debilitating day to day.
    I have had panic attacks looking back and realising how close to serious danger I was, I worry about if the kids I know are going through what I did, it sucks, it really sucks.
    The inappropriate contact he made is harmful, even without pictures, videos, or meetups, that shit sticks with you, especially when your brain develops further from experience and brain development.
    Grown adults preying on children just by message is harmful to them, it still affects them, they are not virtual children, they're real people, they are affected by inappropriate treatment, even if those commuting these acts don't think it was something serious, or if it was technically legal, it is harmful as fuck to children.
