The logic for why people say platforms are bad for Mac is idiotic. People think "oh characters can camp Mac on them" as if platform camping is a practical, legitimate strategy. Mac having platforms to maneuver around helps him with his approaches, setups, and mixups way more than he's hurt by the hypothetical platform camping that nobody ever actually does.
@@sbevenine2055 yea as a ganon main tho i prefer platforms vs mac. well i prefer platforms all the time. it's hard to approach as ganondorf without platforms and also up smash goes brrr
@@te0nzin Playing Ganon without platforms is so difficult even against characters with no peojectiles also it's fun when you hit down tilt under a platform and just up smash because they can't escape it
@@sbevenine2055 yea but especially hard against projectile fighters. i still win most of the time against a friend who plays yink on FD but he's like 8mio gsp and i'm at almost 10.5mio. it's a completely different game for me.
I feel that Peanut really began to utilize his shield on the last stage, as punishing Ike's aerials from a grounded position isn't hard at all, you just need to adjust to his range and then his options become pretty limited.
Little Mac was one of my first characters before I even knew who peanut was but I don’t understand why he didn’t use counters? People might say because it leaves him open but I mean I’m pretty sure little mac’s up B leaves you more vulnerable than a counter lol. Regardless it was a great match!
Again, I wish Peanut could start doing more run up raw k.o. punches, they work, really well. It makes me stressed seeing him getting so many k.o. punches and losing then by something as punny as an upthrow, wtf
when joe J was using it to snap to ledge? yes, but not a good move. Ike probably would've gotten to the ledge an invincibility'd through the counter, leaving peanut off the stage. would peanut have recovered? yes, but that leaves him in a good spot to get smashed by Joe J's sword. Peanut was more likely farming for more on stage interactions which is where mac shines
I don't think most counters catch sweet spotted Quickdraw to ledge, so counter attempts would need to be off stage. Even then it's possible for the Ike player to recover high and land on stage, or short charge Quickdraw and drift to stage without throwing out a hurtbox. The amount of mixups and the sheer speed of Quickdraw give Ike a surprisingly decent recovery.
They mean in terms of the stage pick, players will just say "run it back" when they either are fine with the current ban/pick situation or they just don't care
Ah, but when the third game started, the scoreboard still said Joe only had one win. So I thought it meant they'd just not count that one win and redo the fight.
As a Mac main it is SO frustrating to see Peanut almost never use the counter. There's so many situations where he would've been okay, but instead was at a disadvantage

On curtain match ups, FD is great for Mac but for most match ups especially Samus or Min Min, Mac needs platforms

What an awesome set! Quite close. Both players did an amazing job

I agree! I believe he also over-extended on a lot of smash attacks towards the end, which Joe-J was happy to punish
11:42 That was indeed beautiful
11:45 you know Peanut had a big ass smile under that mask.
