    I’ve seen another mom give the cleaning hack of carrying an empty laundry basket room to room and placing what doesn’t belong in it for the next room. By the end of your cleaning day you’ve emptied the basket of the things for each room and you aren’t going back and forth all over the place! Just an idea!!

    As a stay at home mom, I appreciate every video you put out. I can imagine it isn't easy finding the time to be creative, film and edit. But you do it consistently, and I get to benefit with so many people watching it. Your hard work and energy is not unseen. Any time (every video you put out) I need to destress, I put on your newest video and decompress... Thank you for having the ability to share your life, talents and life. You're awesome.

    My husband calls that “running around” starting one thing and getting distracted with other things…..squirrelling. So easy to get distracted from the task at hand. I am so guilty of this at65 with grown children🙄You do SO well getting things done with 3 little ones.

    One of the things I've learned over the last year of trying to keep a tidy house with 3 little kids, is the importance of having storage! Whether that's baskets, dressers, shelves, bins, etc. SO THAT every item has a home, a place it's supposed to be. My problem has been that I keep putting randoms all over the place because I don't actually have a "home" for them. I see you have baskets hanging like in the laundry room and that's exactly what I need! A good storage system!

    • @hollywilson6019
      @hollywilson6019 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      That's my problem too. So many items don't have a home

    For storing the puzzles, my mom would get felt fabric and Velcro, measure to size so that each puzzle was snug inside and make a sort of Velcro bag. Then you can store them standing up side by side and keep them from getting ruined too. Not sure if that helps any, but that’s the only advice I have 😁

    • @celianicoll7060
      @celianicoll7060 2 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Came to comment the same thing! Put the puzzles in individual bags of some sort. You can do the same with the games too. Take those out of their boxes and put all the pieces, gameboard, and instructions in a bag.
      Then you could store the bags standing up in the box, like files.

    We use the Ikea Billy shelf for storing puzzles. That works surprisingly good with our kids. Also, I love your freckles, Delilah. They make you look so unique and gorgeous. I wish I had freckles. For puzzles, ditch the boxes and put the pieces into clear plastic envelopes and then file them vertically. You can also mark puzzles on the back. Then it's also easy to keep pieces together

    What I do with puzzles is use gallon zipper bags, it’s clear and keeps things together. I hide them away and use them as something exciting we can get out when my daughter wants screen time. I would leave out just one option on a shelf in the playroom at a time, something you know they can do independently

    Hi Delilah, your home is beautiful. I was wondering, before you asked for any ideas on storage for puzzles why you don't put them in the kids play space in a cabinet or display a couple at a time on the shelves. In my family we keep the. In a high cabinet and put some out on shelves. Just an idea from a mom of 8.

    For the puzzles, I have 2 suggestions.
    1. Make cards for each game you own and then ask the kids to bring you the card for the game they want and they can have 1 out at a time.
    2. Put out only a few games on a shelf at a time (maybe 2 or 3) with the top of the box off, almost like the box of the game is creating its own tray, and so the kids know the pieces go back when they're done.

    To organise puzzles I took some strong plastic bags with a zip, like the ones you can find for food, and put puzzles pieces there. It's not the best esthetic way but it prevents from mixing all the pieces and it occupy less space than a box😊.

    (Mom of a 3 &4 year old) My 4 year old is huge into puzzles!! I honestly either do a rotation of the puzzles where he only has to manage a couple at a time OR I keep them up and they have to ask me for them. That way they dont have to rifle through 30 puzzles in one bin and have all the pieces fall out.
    Another idea is to keep 2 puzzles for each kid out at a time since you have kids in different puzzle abilities

  • @ashleycoop5545

    Something like the Ikea Kallax Insert with 4 shelves would be great for organizing puzzles. They'll be much easier to access than when they're all stacked on top of each other. ❤️

    Store the puzzles in bags. Ziplock are fine. Then store them horizontally so you can see what's there. If there isn't enough space maybe add some to a toy rotation since you already do that.

  • @braria9855
    @braria9855 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    I'd love to see how you store and decide about keeping/donating baby clothes and toys after having 3 kids. I'd easily watch a half an hour video on each :)
    Chests are unhappy for puzzles :/ The only thing I found them to be good for (I babysat a LOT) are dress up outfits and plushies (sometimes okay for big trucks or similar bulkier items too). For better puzzle storage I think it is likely you will find yourself veering towards something with shelves and having to figure out an extra space for them :/
    There exist long low drawers on wheels that can go under couches or beds (one family had small lego pieces there which I found brilliant cause the kids could just dig in it looking for their desired piece without making a mess and dumping the contents outside), but I can imagine games being spread there would also work :)

Thankfully my husband helps but sometimes I can't help but feel that I wish I had family that can help. I was watching Milena Ciccioti's (hope im spelling it correctly) video and she mentioned how she had a train of friends and family bring them meals daily since she also has a newborn and I just felt so sad that besides my husband, we literally have no one. But God doesn't give us anything we can't handle so keep being awesome and grateful for what we do have- which is beautiful children ❤️

    Have you consider now you will have four children (Aug 2023) of getting a second washer and dryer for your family? A part from being able to doing laundry faster it would mean you would have a backup washer and dryer should your existing appliances break down. If anyone needs help with family laundry, surely a family of six qualifies.

    Puzzles! I get little pieces of Velcro and make it so they're stuck, basically and I store them like books on a shelf. The Velcro doesn't affect the way my kids play with them! I also tried using really big Ziploc bags for them before the Velcro and it worked well but I didn't like how they fell out and made it sloppy.

    Do you capsule wardrobe for the kids?? If so I’d love to see a video dedicated to how you do so, like how many pieces you keep, how you rotate with seasons, etc.

    I know a lady that puts all her games on like a zip lock bag with the name on it, and throw a the boxes away. 👍🏻 it’s compact and neat and tidy.
