I recently repurchased both an Xbox 360 and this game to relive some fond, childhood memories. Literally everyday since I hooked it up, I've been playing it. Didn't take me long to finish it either. It took about two weeks. Once you earn a million dollars and go into business with Karol the game is pretty much over. All of the tournaments, wagers, and first-to-win races are repeated over and over again until I decide to restart. I'm so impressed with how well the graphics hold up even fifteen years later. Sure, not perfect by any means but they were groundbreaking for 2008-09 and I still have no shame in playing it today. I will say since it's a product of the times, it always cracks me up when you get a notification and it's on an old-school slider phone with the keypad! Boy does it show its age there, especially the ringtone! 🤣 And the fact that the latest cars in the game are the Audi S5, Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution X, and Audi RS4 just to name a few. This was my preferred choice of game when I was in elementary school, middle school, and even into high school. I also played Midnight Club 3 Dub Edition: Remix before this and even a little Midnight Club 2 on my brother's PS2 at the time. But this one will always be my favorite. It's a shame they never went on to make another one. It would've been nice to expand to a different city and drive cars throughout the 2010s and even into the 2020s. Not to mention the graphics would be taken to the next level. That will never see the light of day unfortunately but this will always be remembered as the best rendition of the Midnight Club series.

From personal experience playing this game, I can confirm that there is only maybe 2-3 vehicles that you have to buy: An exotic one, a luxury one and a motorbike. Maybe not even the exotic one. You can use all cars you are able to win (For example the Ford Muscle car from Karol) to grind through all the strict muscle-car related events and C class events in the campaign if you are a skilled enough driver. The only things you cannot win anywhere but have to buy them yourself are the motorbikes and the luxury cars and you need those mid-to-late game to progress in the campaign. Using this strategy (and saving up cash by minimally tuning) to beat the campaign might be challenging but worth it in the long run so you don't have that much grinding - if any at all - to do after you beat Booke and have to get the million dollars for Karol's garage.
Right, the DUB Lamborghini is like the most important endgame vehicle, that 12 cylinder beast will make the endgame easy, once maxed out, you only need to buy a sports bike (the best option is the Ducati 1098R that is found between the Aston DB9 and the police cars) as Andrew will get mad.
Just played through this one again about a month ago. Holds up pretty well. I did notice that the GNX is incorrect though - it has a regular Grand National interior and gauge cluster. It makes the game even more authentic, because most GNX's out there are fakes lol

But I heard its easy to softlock yourself but iam not worried just yet :) The game can have difficulty spikes and restarting tournamnets is a pain.
I went back & played all the Midnight Club Games & this is by far the best one… MC 1 - Felt like a First gen game (3/10) MC 2 - Felt similar to 1 but had a lot more character & felt 10x more fun. Overall though, it’s showing some age (6.5/10) MC 3 - Turned more into a “real” street racing game with better graphics & details, along with a more Rockstar Game Feel (Inferior to LA)(7.5/10) MC LA - Top Tier detail, physics, & gameplay, Though… Unfortunately it’s aging as well (9/10) (Getting lower as time goes on) (Used to be a 10/10)

The whole franchise broke me after playing it for the last 20 years when I found out you can beat the entire game with only a cop car….. all other cars where worthless too me after that
I always played by using all the reward cars to save as much money as possible especially nikos camaro then the buds as soon as they appeared and the fire evo soneone gives the lambo DUB carries pretty hard
How many delivery missions and payback are mandatory? That counts as using extra cars. Also I remember some SUV only races, but I think that was just in the South Central DLC.

But I heard its easy to softlock yourself but iam not worried just yet :) The game can have difficulty spikes and restarting tournamnets is a pain.
I went back & played all the Midnight Club Games & this is by far the best one…
MC 1 - Felt like a First gen game (3/10)
MC 2 - Felt similar to 1 but had a lot more character & felt 10x more fun. Overall though, it’s showing some age (6.5/10)
MC 3 - Turned more into a “real” street racing game with better graphics & details, along with a more Rockstar Game Feel (Inferior to LA)(7.5/10)
MC LA - Top Tier detail, physics, & gameplay, Though…
Unfortunately it’s aging as well
(9/10) (Getting lower as time goes on) (Used to be a 10/10)
I originally beat it without buying any cars besides the one at the start, the rest I unlocked as the game went on
You would be surprised how fast suv’s can be
This is my most played racing game ever, along with dub edition lol. I’ve already done this I was so use to stomping shit with the euro cars I made a Class A RX7, didn’t buy it at class A obviously but once I unlocked it took it all way to the finale that car handles so good. I used the free Camaro for quite awhile too the 200sx too loose
The Shelby cobra was probably my personal OP car back in the day
Onlinr still alive and well on the 360
That's awesome!
True, those cars can just carry you. No bikes needed to finish the entire game. DUB Murcielago is enough for class A
I enjoy this game but I still prefer Remix more as your get to race in Tokyo in the end
20:32 my first time playing this I was using a bike so I found it hilarious
Wait till bro sees a Trackhawk, Durango Hellcat, and TRX
How many delivery missions and payback are mandatory? That counts as using extra cars. Also I remember some SUV only races, but I think that was just in the South Central DLC.
Only 5 deliveries in for both garages (Hollywood Auto and Doc’s South Central) and 6 payback missions. That’s only for the missions.
2:32 I'm pretty sure that's Paraguay
probably one of each class/type
About one ;-; (it works if you sell your old car and use it to buy a new one also this is the edit)
Miura was my go to car in this game.
I just need the beginner car technically cuz after I unlock the first and second Ducati it's a wrapu can't touch me on a bike
Curious, is it better to emulate MCLA on Xenia or RPCS3?
Easier on Xenia, RPCS3 needs a more demanding cpu
I've beat MCLA 5 times, 3 times on PS3 and 2 times on Xenia. Both times game would start to randomly crash in the second half of progression, not critical, but in absence of savestates...
@@TheMskostyan I've only ever played it on ps3. Was curious about the differences like performance, bugs, emulation issues and such. I've had the game crash on ps3 quite a few times, most infuriating case being in the middle of designing a livery.
I miss the multiplayer. It was the first game I got to play online.
@@Arexion5293 Funny enough, I've had the game crash on PS3 as well, but never in the garage or mid-race, usually the game would dead freeze in the free ride or during the police chase with song still playing
I’m guessing nobody told Dove that making the tires wider makes your car grippier…
Actually people did tell me that, but recently during my MC3 run
240 sx, dub camaro, dub mucierlago and if want be more agressive, saleen s7 twin turbo(op)
No need to even purchase any cars in the game if you don’t want to. The game gives you cars that are good enough to carry you through each chapter/segment of the career.
True, the DUB Murcielago is the final car you need for all endgame stuff. All missions can be done with just the prize cars. Only mandatory purchase is a sports bike for Andrew's rage, and you can just go back to the DUB Murcielago after.
I remember wen I was Yung I finished this game only using the Ford focus one Camaro and the eclipse and was it I go as far as possible making I think 70% of the events on the red difficult on the focus but still playing for the ff stability cause my man this shit was so God dam good on corners that I remember bet a funking Lamborghini Gallardo on it yes I bet that thing on the focus It was amazing wen I win that mach
@12:38 Midnight Club doesn’t have Rubberbanding… or at least MC3 and MCLA doesn’t
Mc3 definitely did
@@yk100 no it didn’t
I swear they reused characters from this game as pedestrians in liberty city, I've killed all these people before
Liberty city stories?
If only I could get it to work well on Steam Deck…
Maybe don’t use Xenia but I’m not so sure…
0:56 well i think the gta universe and the midnight club 3-la universe is seperate
Only 5 vehicles are needed for one playthrough. One for each of the champs at the end of the game.
the suv you wont let up about is a range rover, its British not American, its from your side of the pond and that's a realistic representation of speed compared to a 240sx lol
One but then 4 for the other classes
RIP Bike Buddy 😢
MCLA 0 upgrades?
Impala SS OP
You can do it from start to finish with the starter 240sx and then eventually a motorcycle. Thats how i completed my playthrough.
Or a DUBbed out Lamborghini can be used too....
man, how do you play this game? do you use a ps3/xbox 360 emulator?
if yes, which one? 👀
Xbox one console
Can you still play online on series S?
you surely need more than a car to beat midnight club L.A
However, all of the goal attacks... All of those are beatable with only an open-top AWD Lamborghini (the DUB Murcielago helped me with those).
I know your pain with la traffic
How would I go about emulating this?
The one thing that always irked me: the luxury car section. Seriously hated that it was only that stupid 300C.
When you have the South Central pack, you can use the Audi S5 instead, and we get two AMGs and the Cadillac XLR-V
@@jskylinegtr34 The Audi is classified as a tuner. That was also very annoying.
@@SNOWDUDE13 There's two, RS4 is Tuner, S5 is Luxury. S5 is in the far end of the DLC after the Kawasaki ZX-14 (the overpowered game-breaking bike that i avoided and used the Lambo instead on where many use the Ninja.)
@@jskylinegtr34 I don't recall the second one, it's been a long time since I've seen the dlc and all that. But good to know for when I play it again.
@@SNOWDUDE13 There were only 3 at launch 300C, S600 and SL65 AMG, two Benzes and a Chrysler.
The Complete Edition gave us four more (CLK 63 AMG Black Series, S5, CL65 AMG and XLR-V)
Wait a minute, why can't you use the DUB Murcielago for those Exotics Only Events???
I probably could have but I still thought I only needed 2 cars at this point so I sold it
@@DoVe_7 auw... :(
He could also use it for the rest of the game...
It is a better vehicle than the Kawasaki Ninja ZX-14 or Ducati 1098R sport bikes..
The DUB Murcielago helped me breeze the late game and the goal attacks. Once the level 2 parts came, i just installed the PP parts on it and used it for the rest of the game.
6:23 bro is from Grove street💀
he has the green saber
Not much. Rocked the S14 for the first half of the game & then I got stuck on a race & upgraded to the 06 Evo.
The gran turismo test fail 😂
How did you get the game?
Why would you buy the RX8 when you can xan just win it 🤷🏻♂️ and did you not play the complete edition? I think thst version you need a low rider and an suv
What system are you playing MC LA on
Xbox one
He needs to play Motorstorm: Pacific rift
I will eventually , seen a lot of videos of it recently in my feed
You can beat the whole game just using the motorcycles LOL
Well, but it only has 36 races completed (or 35 wins) and is highly discouraged to be overused, since it is the requirement to unlock bike cows and Oswaldo's duel.
I just used a Ducati to beat it
does anyone know how to do the monster truck glitch??
Why does the RX8 barrel roll every finish 😅
I literally only drove around in this game lol I did no races
I played this on the PSP so it was a little different Version.
Good edits
You weren't supposed to sell the muscle car 😭
I almost beat the history whit the sirocco, but no, too slow compare to other classes, but you can get far on missions only whit that car
Once you struggle on it, you would need something like the DUB Murcielago to finish the game...
What emulator is this on?
Xbox one
I beat the game with the police impala
i beat it with just a motorcycle
