These are the kind of challenges you just cant do with modern Forza. The progression flys out the window with the starter cars given, there are rarely any entry requirements for races and other racers just adjust to what you are bringing. I play Horizon 1 with emulator on PC and like the challenges it throws at you: Won an F40 from a Showcase event?, too bad the next REQUIRES an old japanese classic Miata :) Iam playing races on normal difficulty, playing on Insane means insane rubberbanding duh :)
I've never understood why it's just racing games that do this it's the equivalent of starting with a diamond pick in minecraft and nothing else existing
@@norshalom Look online for a " KAOS crew Horizon 360 classics": Its a a package of Horizon 1 with Xenia emulator that works great. Need a Keyboard Splitter for keyboard use and some tinkering as emulators go. Perfect base for other gems like Forza Motorsport 4, Project Gotham 4 and MidnightClub LA. KuruHS has a video about it. Horizon 3 PC can be torrented from the ususal supects, its deeply rooted with Microsoft but fully playable.
People may be more attuned to Super cars and Hyper cars nowadays but the real fun is taking slow cars and beating the competition with them. Considering how many hours I've put into FH as a whole I enjoy seeing people attempt challenges like this, it's always fun to watch people taking "shitboxes" as you say and making them useful for example the 240Z that came in clutch quite a few times. Awesome video as always Dove!
I seen more opposite. There's more people that want more normal everyday cars then just super cars. People who want super cars are a loud minority while we are a silent majority.

FH1 progression just felt so good when I played this game for the first time, and I definitely prefer this kind of progression over the newer ones. Having to buy new cars because your based starter car (the Corrado) can't compete in races anymore due to which country it's from, the drivetrain, or even it's vehicle type. So you have to gradually earn more money to buy a car that can compete in certain races and progress to more difficult and demanding events. Amazing video to show off one of the interesting ways to progress through the game, rather than getting a free hypercar from a wheelspin. Well done mah man. 👍

I actually ended up going backwards in the series and found that I only really liked the first two games because they actually have ranked challenges and you need to score in order to progress. With that said this is definitely one of the most difficult racers I have ever played, up there with Race Driver Grid. I ended up going through most of the game on hard difficulty and would never really get anything better than 3rd place. I ended up having a drop it to medium once I got to the final few licenses because I started scraping by in maybe 6th or 5th place. The AI drives extremely well and you can't make very many mistakes, if any at all.
I do this challenge on the regular, but I raise the bar. I challenge you to attempt to beat FH1 with cars that are 2+ classes UNDER. For reference, I built a C class Sprinter Trueno that beat Darius Flynt in his R3 class Seisto 😂
Something i say to cope with driving a Civic Si, the begenning also applies to this playthrough lol. Its more fun to drive a slow car fast than a fast car slow.
Fh1 is my favorite of the spinoffs because you're able to challenge yourself like this on top of the game already trying to challenge you with it's race restrictions. I never really did like the near absolute freedom the laters Horizons gave you. As for favorite Forza, it's gotta be FM4. Too bad it isn't backwards compatible :(
