You need a VERY stiff rod that you shove into each side of the vents to loosen the two clips on the bottom. There is NO WAY to get to the top tabs directly, so you have to lift up the outer case a bit (the side with the logo on the metal) and pull up until you can get something in the side to push the upper tabs toward the center. Also the drive cage doesn't have to be bent off, take the rubber bumpers off, take the screws out and the two pieces side apart.
No problem. If you haven't already, please like and subscribe so others can find my videos and possibly consider watching a few others and commenting to get the algorithm to recommend my channel. Thanks!
I finally,y decided well after over a decade to disassemble my free agent enclosure… it was an absolute btch to open, I had to break the outer assembly. They clearly made these things to never be opened or warranty voided. Just saw your video and it cracked me up, I went through the same pains. Haha!
Hope it helped. If you haven't already, please like and subscribe so others can find my videos and possibly consider watching a few others to get the algorithm to recommend my channel. Thanks!
I just got a couple of these and need to take the drives out as copying over usb 2 would take too long. Im thinking spraying isopropyl alcohol or lighter fluid into the inside to loosen the sticky glue?
@@ItsBinhRepaired Can you provide a timestamp? Im trying to get the outer shell off like here 38:55 but I don't see clips inside. Looks like its glued/double sided taped in your video.
What a fight.
These outer cases are made to be almost impossible to open without breaking them. Good job.
Looks like I could have opened it without damaging it, but needs a long, thin, very sturdy tool.
I agree with Fernando. Awesome job!
@@viktormedina4631 Thanks!

Watch the end and you'll see where the clips are. You just need a long tool to push the clip out.
