In Baldur's Gate: Siege of Dragonspear, which takes place after Baldur's Gate 1 and before Baldur's Gate 2: Shadows of Amn, there is a side quest where Khalid asks for your help in making a necklace as a wedding anniversary gift for Jaheira. You have to get an aquamarine gem and spider silk to use as string for the necklace, which is why Jaheira had to renew it over the years, spider webs are not a good substitute for necklace strings. "Khalid's Gift" is that very same necklace.
That first scene brought tears to my eyes. Seeing her remember him fondly was so beautiful. When I played BG1 as a kid, I'd always have Khalid and Jaheira in my party. Good to see her memories of him, and how Larian gave so much respect to two of my favourite characters.
Khalid's fate is that one thing I really hate in BG2, even after 20+ years it still hurts ;-; Especially when two other fav characters are not even mentioned in the main game... Well, I heard Xan appears in the tutorial, but I never had the need for that. But there's nothing about Kivan.
Yes, some of the companion fate was horrible. My other fav companion, Ajantis, killed by my party in BG 2 because some dark magic make us see each other as enemy :(
@@TjoaJunChoi I had him only temporarily, swap him for Kivan on my way to Nashkel. More reasons to end a certain scaly lord. Dynaheir shares the same fate as Khalid. In BG2 the dream team varied, but always had the same team in BG1: Imoen, Khalid, Jaheira, Kivan and Xan.
@@TjoaJunChoi BG1 + 2 are two most important games in my gaming history. They shaped my imagination and love for fantasy (though LotR books were the first step). Haven't talked about them with someone who played as well, I don't need much to start a conversation on the subject ;P

I always bring Jaheira and Khalid too in my BG1 playthrough! I also bring Jaheira again in BG2
Thank you for doing this, you have saved me a lot of work searching for all mentions of K :)
Your welcome :)

@@arashimifune2853 my Baldur's Gate 1 and 2 companion always the same, never change it. BG1= Khalid, Jaheira, Neera, Ajantis, Conan. BG 2= Jaheira, Minsc, Neera, Keldorn, Mazzy. Btw, thanks for sharing!
