New sub! 50P is my favorite coin in the world. In the United States I can only dream of Kew Gardens !! I do have 69, Paddington at the towers, 70 jubilee, and Sherlock Holmes. My good friend @Thestackcollector sent them. Marvelous gifts. Thanks for sharing!
I’ve just gone through all my 50p collection from face value to ebay sold prices, was shocked by the difference, let’s just say I’ve purchased a lockbox to put them all in 😅 Face value - £155 EBay sold - £879.25
Only missing 2... Football and Judo. Can proudly say I found every single one in circulation too. And yes, that does include a stunning condition Kew. So good infact that I've already been offered 180 plus a Judo for it. I declined obviously.
hahaha, last time I done honorable mentions at the end but people tended to click off after Kew appeared. Thought this might be a better way to do it. I'm sure Newton will rise one day!
Its nice to know my Money has been well spent on collecting these coins over the years, I have everything there ten times over, I do like collecting the Kew Gardens 50p...I have a bakers dozen of them and counting, I often put the coins I've collected over the week into the end of my gardening video's This week i bough a load of slab coins and silver proofs, I will be posting my video up later...
Your there or there abouts on all of them give or take a couple of quid on a couple of them I'd say but pretty much on the money lol. Very good informative video
I've spent last 2-3 year collecting does piedfort Kew Gardens count has number 1 or better? I don't own a regular Kew though I have everyone in that top ten and I found an excellent condition football abit ago in my change 😉
To LAFTA - No mention about another coin with a low circulation, that often goes under the radar is the 2017 Shield. With a mintage of 1,7 million ! ( I have 15 of those in my collection!)
Not worth as much because its a shield they are also easier to find because far fewer people are looking for them and know they're actually worth anything. Much easier to find a 2017 shield than a 2017 Sir Issac Newton despite similiar mintage figures.
@@gravemind6536: You make an interesting point. However, the 2017 Shield is not that easy as you think, to find. Low circulation, comparable to Isaac Newton. Even more difficult when it is mixed in with other coins, it looks just like another Shield and probably won't get a second glance, whereas IN stands out clearly ! Another thing, is that both of these coins have a lower circulation figure that Jemima Puddle Duck (2,100,000) and yet the duck sells for a much a higher price on e-bay !
@@TheQ-Continuum I get what you're saying my point is that amature collectors and joe blogs public won't pay attention to the 2017 shields. As for coin values some designs are worth more than others just due to personal tastes and whats popular and people just being stupid. You can still find Team GB 2016 coins selling for £2-£3 on Ebay despite them being essentially face value or £1 at best. Personally I love WW1 and WW2 coins and therefore I would most likely pay slightly more than they're worth or keep them even if they are not worth more than face value. I love the Battle of Britain 50p its a keeper no matter what for me.
Good question Graham! Certainly a bit less than the values of each coin individually! Around £250 at a guess? Check eBay sold lots to see if anyone has sold a complete collection.
Prices are ridiculous. Those on the list with worth of 1-5£, I wouldn't sell mine even for a 100£! They are rare and nominal value of it is irrelevant to me.
I totally get what you are saying. While they are rare to find, the amount going up for sale constantly suggests that plenty of people are finding them and selling them all the time. Eventually this should slow down, right? Thanks for the comment.
@@LAFTA that was the same for me I tried 3 different post offices and got lucky at 1 they all said they had only been given very limited amounts definitely one to keep!
Yeah, I was really happy to find. Now await my Kew garden!! Fount one once 5 years, but, I was not collector of 50p pieces at the time. And, foolishly spent it?!
i have quite a few offside ones good to know they are going up in value
Super update for 2022. I really enjoy your thoughts on these values 👏🏻👏🏻👍🏻
Thanks Bungle
Are you the same Bungle, who Christopher Collects sometimes refers too?
Yes, that’s me !
Great up to date info on values. I can't help thinking some of those coins might be avail still in Bunc packs which would be great VFM if £4.99 😎❄💜
There is a more up to date version of this as well! Thanks for watching! Will probably do another update in the New Year :)
I never tire of these kinds of videos. 👏
Nice update LAFTA. The Suffragettes is one I always struggle to find.....
Yep, they don't pop up too often!!
Another fantastic and informative video Lafta! 😊
Thanks Matt :)
Loads a money...to have all these LAFTA 👌

That is an achievement! Still two tough ones to find though, keep going mate!!
impressive
I was out busking in Edinburgh yesterday and managed to get a few of those including puddle duck and Peter rabbit
I have the 2018 Peter Rabbit, I actually found it via the vending machine trick, I was pretty chuffed when that came out!
Awesome! haha
Wouldn't a 2020 Peter Rabbit be nice!
Mine is 2017 Peter rabbit
Great countdown, stay safe lafta
Thanks Darren, you too mate
Got all apart from that elusive Kew, far too expensive for me to buy. Great 👍 video
Thanks a lot Stuart. Keep on hunting mate, you never know when it might pop up!
Definitely a good top ten selection👌👍
Thank you Snap!
Great video mate 👍
Thanks B Lucky!
Only you could have 13 coins in your Top 10, 😉. Love it. Great info though. Wish Newton was more valuable. 👍

Thank you Sir!
Lucky to have all the circulated 50ps , apart from .......the Kew. One day

You forgot to mention the Olympics aquatics first pressing 50p.
This list is for circulating coins, that coin was only available in a pack.
@@LAFTA Some got into circulation, I had one in my change in 2012. I sold it to my brother in law for £600. I should have kept it!

have these prices dropped since 2022?

YES
how do they determine what commemerative is going to be a lower mintage than others of a certain set is it a guess or do they know ahead of time???
Who knows!? We think that the Chancellor has quite a large say on it. As well as the Royal mint advisory commitee.

They should be around the ballpark of the prices in the video, though the video is a little older now so prices do change! Have you got any examples?
Nice update. I've seen some Kews going for more, but your price is about the average. 👍
Yeah it seems to be a bit up and down I think! Thanks mate
Have you found one of the new 70 years of the Queen 50ps yet?

Bruh I bought food with the #1 coin 😂😭🤦🏼

I have 50p special coin what I can do
Does the bigger 50p from 1993, when UK held the EU presidency have any value. The mintage figure of this coin was half of that of the Kew Gardens 50p
Hi Trevor, it does indeed! You're looking at around £50-£55 for the 1992/93 EU Presidency 50p. :)
@@LAFTA, thank you. May consider moving that on at some point
Why they selling more on ebay
Pardon?

Lol someone on ebay has one on for 600
Yeah they try their luck with all sorts of prices. The key to eBay is to filter by ‘sold’ listings (filters in the left hand side).
I don't bother buying anything off ebay too many shit heads. On it will nick your money
Buyer protection on eBay is VERY good honestly, so not sure why you feel that way.
The WWF is difficult to come by. I only have three of them in my collection.
Yeah I agree, underrated!!
Olympic games 50p coins
