Kew Gardens 50p is impossible to find, but what is it really worth? How much are each of the Olympic 50p coins worth? Is the offside rule more valuable than before?

My son and I went into a local antique dealer to see if they had any quirky coins, and they had a dedicated coin cabinet with all the commemoratives, both circulated and NIFC... it was very interesting to see how they had chosen to price coins... a fair few olympics for £4... but then dictionaries, brexit, paddingtons for £2... bit surprised actually.
A proper dealer has to make profit hence face value coins have to be sold for a higher margin. To be fair most olympics aren't worth more than £4 except football, Judo, Wrestling, Trialthlon and on a good day Tennis. The rest are all £4 and under.

I really like these 50ps. I have a sherlock Holmes one, a few paddington bears.
This is just what I needed I’ve been collecting all the 50p for over over 25 years just as and when I find a one in my change some I’ve got 4-5 coins of the same but I never knew the v alue of all of them so thank you I was going to sit on ebay and price them all up but thanks to you I no longer have to just all the big 50p and all the £1 and £2 coins to do.😊😊😊😊

I have just started in the past week started to collect coins. I picked up the 2006 VC Acts and as I am ex military to me this was a good find, however I am disappointed in the 50p value, it looked valuable to myself. I just came back from the bank this morning with £40 worth of 50ps and I found 3 coins so I am happy. I am furious with myself though as I have had at least three Kew Gardens coins in the past, one very recently, but sadly they were spent ages ago. If only I had known better.
Unfortunately, how good the design is has no bearing on the value. I also love that coin. The mintage figure and age of the coin generally are the indicators of value, as well as the condition of course. Unlucky with the Kew! But at least you know what to look for now!

Got the brexit 50p on release day from the royal mint, would it be worth more? Still have the little information book/leaflet it came with.
In any other format it would be worth more than the circulated version for sure. Depends exactly which one you have though tbh

Hello I've just watched one of your videos and left a question il ask it again here, do you know how much the Peter rabbit coin with him holding a bunch of carrots. Also I'm collecting the Harry Potter coins so far I have Harry, Bellatrix and Dobbie do you know if they are worth anything as there painted oh I nearly forgot I also have the first Beatrix Potter coins that are also painted I'm not bothered if there not worth anything I'm just curious. Shield is face value and Britannia is £1 on a good day with the wind. I don’t keep them to be honest.

Ok now I want to now how numista has mintage figures for the 2022 Pride & Queen commemorative Charles 50p coins. It hasn't been released by the royal mint as far as I've seen.
I think they released maximum possible mintages, but no confirmed figures yet.
Hello I have a Question for you why do you think the 2017 Shield is not more valued it is such a low mintage,thank you Veronica
People tend to stick to commemorative coins, even those who don’t really know anything about coins might keep the picture ones, but they won’t keep a shield. Therefore the mintage doesn’t correlate with the scarcity, imo.
Would’ve thought the Isaac Newton would be worth more……. Still my favourite though😊
In the future it will as more people collect it and remove it from circulation and more get damaged and lost etc and it becomes more scarce.

I counted up my 50pences and £2 pound coins with this coin snap app and I was surprised at the end to see that out of 49 coins 3 countries I had a value of £153 quid and I left out 3 Brunel 50 P's £2.64 to £7.28 each guinea 350 anniversary £4.26 to£8.68 also does notes there's a subscription if want but I'm using the free version I've got to go got some old coins to check ✌️🤌🏴

well that is not EVERY 50p in circulation because he missed all the britannia and shield coins that should be included in an all circulated coins list even though they would all be virtually face value.
It’s every commemorative, as mentioned in the video. Not very aesthetic for the title. I have a video all about ‘normal 50ps’ that are worth money already…

Is it worth collecting the NIFC coins? Non coloured and coloured? No one seems to mention those?
That one for £140/£160 I've had that one a couple time probably more lol but it's just face value to me hard to find someone willing to spend that much on a 50p 😂

Everything is only worth what someone is willing to pay . . . . . . . . . . That's the truth.
What should be more important is - Every commemorative coin has just over 8 grams of silver content!

I’ve had all of them, got bored with them and changed them up at face value. I should of kept the kew garden thinking of it, I heard there was a lot of fake ones going around ?
There are fakes around but they are pretty blatantly obvious in my opinion. Shame you cashed your collection in, though they may be part of my collection now 😉
I collected any unusual ones like these. I kept them in a dusty box and began to wonder why. Over the course of a few weeks I spent them, spreading them out over my tiny travels. I think its all in the finding them rather than the having them. And as shown here (for the most part) they are worth about 50p.
No mention of the baboon one or the clover leaf

They can be, depends on the year and the mintmarks, they are coins from Gibraltar.
They're 100% worth more than 50p no matter the mintage year so definitly keep them.

@@LAFTA I bought a set of 30 coins for £34 recently it had some face values, it had puddleduck and a 2018 Peter rabbit, a 2017 Newton and some other decent goodies with it too. I thought it was a bargain but given that you valued puddleduck £3-4 higher than me I would say I got a steal. I always look for the listings that have flown under the radar. You get some decent stuff below its actual worth or at least at its current valuel

I don’t sell 50ps on eBay. These prices are all taken from regular recent sales on eBay. Coins sell for these prices every day. The market was well established a long time before I was making videos. I wish I was anywhere close to big enough to impact anything, but I’m really not… Have a good one
