    I am glad to see this video, I was worried.
    Your eosd extra video helped me clear flandre even though I still haven't cleared a hard mode 1cc.

    Thank you so much! I'm trying to beat my first extra stage in a Touhou game and this guide is very helpful!

    One thing of note is that Phantasm drops way more point items so 800 extend is much more reasonable (it's possible on Extra from what I've seen, but really strict, the highest I saw was like 815 by the end of Extra, in contrast to 950-ish by Danmaku Barrier). From my experience a less experienced player will get it somewhere around BoLaD, possibly just in time for the finale.

    Excellent video as always. Something I would like to say is that most community members refer to the "petal" bullets as "rice" instead, but at the end of the day, do what you want.

      It's the most common term for them for sure, but I've been leaning further towards the side of my personal interpretations of what bullets can represent. Ice chunks in Cirno's cards, flower petals in Meiling's... but now that I think about it, Ran and Yukari don't really have any sort of flower motif so it looks like at this point I've just formed a habit of calling them petal bullets all the time without realizing it. Whoops!

    For me, Princes Tenko was hell. I wasnt ever fast enough to follow the rithm. And I am Sakuya A player, so, not slow. But Yukari version was underwhelming, because its slower and I always had more than enough time to dodge

    I disagree about Yukari's Spiriting Away being objectively harder than Ran's Princess Tenko, for one reason. Ran speeds up her movements as the clock winds down, Yukari keeps her speed the same through the entire card. So while Ran gets a little hectic near the end, Yukari is a relaxing easy card cap. I'll also disagree about Yukari's Shikigami Ran Yakumo being more difficult than Ran's Shikikami Chen. Chen moves on a relatively fixed pattern, while whenever Ran charges down on the screen, she's aimed at the position you're in when she starts moving. The aiming can be used to your advantage moving back and forth from left to right at the bottom of the screen with little to no vertical movement to mitigate most of the threat Ran poses, while Chen's fixed pattern means you'll be going up and down as well as side to side to avoid her.

      Looking back over the cards real quick again, I think I agree about Princess Tenko. I think Yukari speeds up a little, but it's pretty insignificant and Ran has far denser butterflies, while Yukari just has... a bunch of lasers that aren't going to be anywhere even close to you.
      I also had it pointed out to me just recently that you can basically novert Shikigami Ran if you position properly due to the fixed angles of the butterflies she fires when hopping off the walls. Even just looking at the pacifist footage I took, though, Shikigami Chen has you move around a lot more even if you're not noverting Shikigami Ran.
      I'm hoping to gradually become more and more attentive to these kinds of things as I keep making videos, so thanks for pointing them out.

      @@HakanaiBlue Objective Yukari is the harder of of the two, as she should be, but there's some cards where Ran is definitely the more difficulty of the two. Charming Siege, Princess Tenko, Chen...The rest, Yukari is either equal in difficulty to or more difficult. Double Death Butterfly in particular comes to mind. I still have yet to cap that card despite Yukari being my favorite EX boss.

      It's called TouHou Makuka Sai ~ Fantastic Danmaku Festival Part II and is available on Steam. It's kind of like a reimagining of Perfect Cherry Blossom.

      Are they? I don’t see much weird stuff on the stages. They differ from my own strats a little but they’re definitely still usable
      Edit: it’s not the stage, but the first Chen midspell raised an eyebrow

      @@valivanvan Me and a friend of mine dissected this whole video and we found out that the strats...aren't that...ideal?

    • @valivanvan
      @valivanvan 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      yeah, that part isnt too surprising - he does mention at the start that he chose to come up with these strats on his own. i'd think they're pretty fine for a ex/ph1cc, but probably needs refining for nb/nn(n)

    • @HakanaiBlue
      @HakanaiBlue  7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      The general gist is that most of the time, I go with safe strats rather than what might be most ideal for a seasoned player. The emphasis is a little weaker on my Extra videos than with my Lunatic ones, but the goal is to provide something that'll work for a theoretical first 1CC, and rather than providing the objectively best strats, I think the "I dove in and figured out what I could from in-game testing alone" approach is more enjoyable for viewers and also more engaging for me to write. (though, I've been playing Touhou since around MoF/SA so I can't deny that I've heard things that will affect my methods)
      That being said, if there's anything lacking, I'm always interested in hearing about it -- there's a very real possibility that I'll create a sort of "addendum" video in the future covering some of the weaker parts of past overviews.
