This is such a good video, I finished the stage before but it was so long ago that I forgot everything so this was a good refresher and I hope you make more for other extra stages. Was interesting to hear your thoughts on the translation stuff too eg. 6:44 I always assumed "selene" was a bad romanization of "serene" as in quiet, peaceful because of the usual romanization problems of l's and r's
Look Ma there I am! Anyways, great video, definitely gonna use this in the future when I take swings at the extra stage again. I always struggled getting through the stage itself, which handicapped me bad for Flandre, who I generally performed better at.
I struggle with maze of love honestly. I’ve tried focusing and not focusing and I always just run into the bullets either while trying to make it to the next gap or not making it to the next gap Is there any other tips on it? I really don’t think it looks that bad watching it but playing it is abysmal
First off, with how many resources it can eat up, I definitely recommend using the practice tool to learn it rather than trying to figure it out mid-run when things are more tense. Turning on invincibility would probably help too since it means you can keep spinning around Flan without having your flow interrupted. As for actual tips, personally, I find it easiest to dodge really close. I like to stay around on the edge of the magic circle graphic behind Flan. I find that I can comfortably stay focused the entire time here. This might be more muscle memory than sightreading at this point, but the petal bullets still move slowly enough to react to if you get a bit too far ahead or behind. Dodging from further away is a weird dance of staying focused for precision mixed with frequently unfocusing to "dash" ahead to the next gap. It's kind of fun once you've got it down, but it might be uncomfortable if not. If all else fails, I would give trying to learn how to micrododge at the bottom a serious try. As much of a meme as it is, besides the obvious issue of your hitbox not being visible in EoSD (there's a patch you can get for this, might be a shot even if just for practice), the hardest part of dodging at the bottom will be when the plain bullets cover the gap between the petals you were going to dodge through. I recommend trying to keep your field of view a little higher than usual and dodging the petals with your peripheral as much as possible to give yourself time to react to the plain bullets. You'll also end the card much, much quicker down here, so if it turns out that both methods are forcing lives and bombs out of you, dodging at the bottom will at least let you minimize the time spent on the card. Hope I was of some help!
Great stuff, it was like I was relearning the stage from zero and it felt satisfying and understandable
Thank you~!

Just wanna say that I beat flan today and I wanna thank you for helping understand this stage a lot better than I used to.
This is whole scientific work right here!
I'm worse than a fish 🐟 :(
if you shotgun flandre right after her 2nd to last spell, she will take a lot more damage than normal and be left with less HP for her last spell

(icicle fall should be 3rd pannel imo tho)
