I think they acknowledged recently in an interview that they soon realized that typing in "Hunger game" would have made it virtually impossible to actually find their game. It'd just be YA novel links and movie images as far as the eyes could see.

it's crazy how much of this stuff was changed or removed entirely, it would be really interesting to see how the early version of the game played.
the janitor coming into the kitchen seems very interesting, and definitely makes more variable, less cut and dry levels.
I think they should release the old version as a dlc or something.

Rather worked around it. For example, Six's raincoat originally appeared in Very Little Nightmares, but then was retconned in the second game
@@NiCoNiCoNiCola Well in "Very Little Nightmares" you don't play as Six, but as another character that helps her. Six is mostly a background character in that game. They do find the raincoat again in LN2. But I don't think that much was changed.
i don’t think they ever planned to make a little nightmares two and that’s why the storyline seems a bit confusing and is probably messed up

As you play through LN2, you can see glimpses and scenes that the devs used to show her true nature, and not only did she willingly betray Mono, despite how many times he went out of her way to save her(and did pretty much all of the work), but she's also gone out of her way to hurt other people(RIP Runaway Kid, he was just trying to help😔) I think it's pretty clear that Six is the antagonist of the story, and everyone who affiliates with her gets hurt or killed.

Little Nightmares may be popular, but it sure is underrated compared to other games. This whole franchise is just a beautiful diamond in the rough. A masterpiece.

Yeah but then again, after making my siblings play the game. I think it's fair to say that the design choice to make it less open was wise because my siblings did not even know where to go without my help.
( There was one moment when they had to turn on the TV to make the janitor come into the room but it took them all 10 minutes to figure it out. In fact they didn't even figure it out, I literally had to tell them to turn it on.
Well somebody could try and remake this or try to implement these scenes in the original using mods
LN2 had a couple open areas kinda like this one so the spirit of the original concept wasn't entirely lost.

There’s quite a lot of confusion in the comment section so just to clarify, “Hunger” was originally going to be the name of “Little Nightmares”, however due to the popularity of “Hunger Games” they changed the name from “Hunger” to “Little Nightmares”, so when people would search for the game on the internet, no one would have to type “Hunger Game” and have “Hunger Games” show up instead. Also the reason none of this gameplay footage was in the final release of the game was simply because they scrapped most of the game.

I always like when a horror game does something different than walking around a forest/dungeon with a flashlight. Some horror games are just really creative such as Among the sleep.

I know this is from 5 years ago and you were reacting to the teaser, but one of the inspirations of the game is actually Spirited Away! You can tell, with no doubt, when you see the Guests at the end of the game

It's been almost six years since we saw that teaser for the first time. We dived into that twisted nightmarish world with the teaser of "Hunger" and now we are here in 2021 with the released "Little Nightmares 2".
Time flies really fast...
This game has come a long way. One of the best gaming experiences I ever had and probably will ever have, little nightmares 2 was a masterpiece as well though. There are still some cut rooms and characters I would've liked to see in the full release

The art design looks so different, more dark and crude
I was just thinking about that. It gives off genuinely different feelings for me, but it's still so familiar. The lighting and changes in environment really give it a completely new identity. I'm a massive fan of the game as it is, and would never want it to be different, but I really wish I could see more of what this original draft was. I wonder what else they have that we've never seen

Throughout Little Nightmares, Six has to progress through the Maw, all while avoiding horrifying enemies and keeping her hunger at bay. Hunger is the name of the prototype. I wonder if this version ever got far enough into development for an actual demo to be released. I would have loved to see Little Nightmares with the slight differences this version has.
