- Umm, what the hell was THAT. Nevermind, because the statute of limitations on 1998 REVENGE does not exist. You deserve it always, Dirty Birds. And this time from the hands of fifth-round rookie quarterback Jaren Ha--
OH WAIT IT'S JOSH DOBBS, a Viking for FIVE DAYS.
Week nine started in crazy fashion-which, because it's a Vikings game, means everything was perfectly f**king normal. Jaren Hall, who looked decent in his second drive of the game, was knocked out, and into concussion protocol, after trying to push the ball over the goal line.
So Josh Dobbs, rocket scientist and DUDE, took over. But it wasn't great at first. Because he-the rocket scientist-forgot to escape the endzone, and took a safety on his first drive. Then there was an inexplicable fumble that Atlanta returned to the Minnesota two yard line. Then there was another fumble/maybe interception later, and then a fumbled snap that we thankfully recovered.
And then a strange calm came over young(ish) Joshua. Perhaps the ghostly spectre of Kirk Cousins appeared to him, and said, "win this bitch."
"Sling" might not be the right word, because holy shit, Dobbs can scramble, multiple times bailing out Christian Darrisaw's replacement at LT, David Quessenberry, with scrambles for first downs, and even an 18-yard touchdown late in the third quarter to get the Vikings within two, and then tie it with a freaking dime to Alexander Mattison to convert the 2-point try. Mattison showed sure hands all game, for once, despite his inability to pick holes in the run game. His first-quarter 47-yard pass from Jaren Hall made us all think Hall might be the QB of the Future. Alas.
But back to Josh. Joshua. Dobbs. He led the team in rushing, too. On the Vikings 11-play, 75-yard game-winning drive, he saved the game with a clutch 22-yard scramble to convert a fourth-and-7. My pants were wet after that.
You know the rest. KOC dials up plays in the headset, the WRs are telling Dobby their routes IN THE HUDDLE and our new best friend hits 6-yard touchdown pass to receiver Brandon Powell with 22 seconds remaining. I love this team, damnit.
This week it was 1998 revenge, and next week it's 2009 revenge. Let's take down the Saints and the ghost of Sean Peyton. And then actual Sean Peyton in Denver after that. HOOO BOY THIS SEASON IS JUST BEGINNING, SKOLDIERS.

Not gonna lie i couldnt help but get a little teary eyed hearing Vikings radio call of Dobbs' TD run. As Tennessee Vol fan since the 70's, havent heard that much excitement and emotion from a radio play by play announcer since Tennessee's John Ward. Well done sir. I hope Dobbs and the Vikings have a very successful remainder of season! Go VOLS! SKOL!....did i spell that right? 😂
Paul Allen is an amazing play by play guy. Voice of my childhood really. Back when we Had Adrian Peterson man was it fun to listen to on the radio.

This outcome is still amazing to watch. Wins don’t usually happen in these circumstances. In the 40 plus years of watching NFL football games I have never seen anything like it before until that game. Credit goes to the coaches for that win.

Hey man I apologize, formally. I said some things that were completely unfounded after watching your video again. I was watching it in the background (when I first saw it) for background noise while I did chores around the house and it looked like you only posted Jaren Hall's 8 yard run in this clip. I forgot that his 8 yard run was on his first drive, and that his second drive was where he really lit it up. That was why I posted all those (probably) confusing critiques of your work. I humbly apologize for that. You put together a great video here, and I see now that you included Hall's showcase drive (drive #2). I was wrong man. Very wrong. You put together a good video. Don't listen to my dumbass lol, there's nothing wrong with what you are doing. It's done quite well.
Correction: Dobbs completed the 2 point conversion pass to Trishton Jackson, not Mattison. Just a small error with the caption.

Anyone else think the Vikings should go the Lamar Jackson, Jalen Hurts, etc. route and draw up some designed runs for this new QB? He seems to be able to run well.
I think we should retain Dobbs and resign Kirk. Then rotate them based on the situation and to keep the defense off balance. If they adjust to counter Kirk, Dobbs comes in and exploits it. They adjust to Dobbs, Kirk goes in and tears them up.
Sometimes, Bercich just needs to shut up or turn off his mic and let PA do his thing. My goodness.

if Jaren had gotten sacked for a safety, lost a fumble deep in our territory, and thrown an interception (or fumbles) into the arms of a seated defensive lineman...he would be vilified for the rest of the season.
let's have some perspective. the defense won this game. Josh helped. but the defense won this game.

Wrong! Joshua hadn’t thrown one pass to anyone on the Vikings, doesn’t know their last names. Then he comes out in the second half and plays like that, he won that game on a very gutty performance to the surprise of all Vikings fans!, let’s enjoy this one!
Hall was sacked and fumbled near the goal line against the pack and the D bailed him out. Yesterday the D was gassed late in the game, gave up the lead and Dobbs won the game for the Vikings.
