i can't even express the sound its amazing of how the gameboy cover is amazing. even its portal 2 turret wife serenade for these sounds like noise, wave, duty, and other stuff that contains making 8-BIT or 16-BIT music's is so nice. for example: Chiptune
I use hUGETracker, a tracker made for Game Boy, to make the music, although I usually first chart on another piano roll type software. As for the cover art, I typically just draw it by hand in gimp/photoshop; there are better programs for pixel art, but I am familiar with it and it's easy to paste in reference images.
