From Australia I am an avid Super Stock lover, all the books & magazines I csn get my hands on I have, Tee Shirt etc just love these old factory built purpose built quarter mile bruisers. Unfortunately very very few share my enthusiasm here in Australia, it's an American thing. As a one eye Mopar lover I have a 1970 VG 770 Hardtop Hemi Chrysler similar to a Dodge Dart but an Australian version. After 3 years of restoration almost complete it will resemble a Super Stocker USA style, & this will be my daily driver. Nothing beats old school muscle, awesome video great work envious of you for actually being there. Louis Kats from Australia
You Aussie car guys do some absolutely insane shit. I want to send my 225 Slant Six down to Australia one of these years just to see what all can be done to it.
I just love seeing our local Byron Drag Strip and Great Old Drag Cars featured in a Great video. Ya gotta love it.. To bad there is not more of a crowd though.
My favorite mopar always wanted a 63 to 65 Plymouth or dodge with a wedge in almost had one wen I was 16 but missed out on it a 65 polara I guess I should have been more persistent but I never found one and then wen I came across another it was a ex drag car and was in mint condition it was all set up for racing but the guy that owned it had a nervous breakdown and would not answer the door he lost a few marbles over something I went back and tried the door again to try and buy it but no answer then I heard he died and the car disssapered now I’m 61 and health problems so will never own one but sure is nice to admire them I’ve had all kinds of mopars over the years but never go to own a 63 to 65 I would of even took one of the lancers a little homely but to me beautiful oh well that’s life so I’ll look at them on you tube and admire all these lucky people that own them
I wish I could find pictures of my Next Door Neighbor's car the Wee Three it was a 1962 or 1963 Ford Falcon that he raced at the Byron Drag Way in the 70s I Was a Kid Back then But will always remember his car. His Name was Lyle Willem .
John Grinwold, Rich Berlisk, C'mon back east next August to Beaver Springs for Flashback Friday. We'll get Atwood's car, Flashback, Pose's Thunderbolt, and the Macione Bros. Ford Lightweight running together.
I love the backround music, showing off those bad ass cars!
These old Super Stock cars are absolutely gorgeous!!!
It's pretty darn awesome that these folks still run these cars HARD, knowing how rare and how valuable they are.
Hats off to 'em.
I met them yesterday at our local raceway Route 66 filmed all day.
Enjoyed this video! The good old days of drag racing! Love the old school drag racing!

I was curious too not too many spectators it could be because of location? Byron is one of my favorite.
The heat index was over 100 that weekend, so the crowd was down from previous years
Now these are Muscle Cars! 😀 👍
Real deal!
Awesome video fellas love the muscle cars
Thank you!
I wished I was there. I am a big Mopar fan but I loved the title of that Ford Repeat Offender. It was great seeing these 417 Wedge engines.

Thank you!
Good old memories
Real cool liked the 63 ford
Thanks for watching!
2 Ford's. 2 Chevy's. And a bunch of angry Mopars! Good luck with that 😄

Byron is one of my favorite race tracks so far.
Ferris Motors from my hometown! I knew Jack Ferris personally.
Good to know!
I wonder what was in the 64 Chevelle for an engine
Bbc
This is the way drag racing should be.
Agree!
No 421 Pontiacs? Does anyone from Illinois remember "The Grey Ghost" '63 Pontiac Catalina?
Great job on the video!
Thanks!

I like nostalgia racing but none of these cars ran that quick back in the day. 13's was the norm for the top Super Stockers.
Some of these cars are way faster then modern
B.S. mid to low 11's for the Hemi 66 winter nationals,13's were stockers.
Hell, I ran a 13.12 in B Stock. And the National record holder beat me by a fender.
@@jackkidd8438 Not true,do you know the difference between stock and super stock?
@@jackkidd8438 Ok

Where and when was this? The very first car in the video used to belong to my uncle before he passed!
This was at Byron Dragway IL Glory Days filmed last year during summer time
No 62 savoys my dad has one straight out of the factory drag car 2 door post
I guess this was a mopar fest didn't see much else but that's okay enjoyed the video.
Thanks for watching!
Now that's real racin
I can spend all day and night watching old school racing
A flag start is stupid when there's a perfectly good christmas tree.
Was this video taken back in the 60s ?
Next time turn the music down a little - It was just a little above of the sounds of the engines at the beginning...
Big block mopars are my music
Louder is better
Augh, might as well be bracket cars, no 4 speeds.
Shame shame! The Ferris Motors car has Illinois spelled wrong on the door!
Steven L Jones slum peeple cant spel
I Hate Flag starts, to much cheating !!!!!
Dodge cab cars race ?? Wow ,,, that's cool no checker cabs,,,,,
